    Is there a solution for cross browser event. I need to check if user closes their window and to throw an ajax request to my database to sign them out. I've looked everyone but most cases its not working in all browsers. Anyone have a solution? Or Alternative on how to do this perhaps a conditional statement depending on the browser? Thanks!

    I usually run Fiddler for net traffic monitoring and now am using a Mac machine. I thought Firebug's net tab can show the traffic that is fetched through AJAX (the net tab is enabled). But if I try google.com, and type in something, its "google suggest" will show a bunch of suggestions, but the Firebug's "net" tab is not showing anything?

So if I checked Alabama and Alaska, I'd want to add 275 + 197. I'd rather not using GET and URL variables, because a user could type something into the URL and modify the count. Any idea what I'm doing wrong, or a better way to approach this that I would be able to understand? (Very much a novice programmer.)

  • Mootools 1.2.4 delegation not working in IE8...?

When the user clicks an option in the select box, I make a request for the related data, returned in a JSON object, which gets put into the form elements. When the form is saved, the request goes thru and the listbox is rebuilt with the updated data. Since it's being rebuilt I'm trying to use delegation on the listbox's parent div for the onchange code. The trouble I'm having is with IE8 (big shock) not firing the delegated event. Am I missing something? Does IE8 just not like the :relay? Sidenote: I'm very new to mootools and javascripting, etc, so if there's something that can be improved code-wise, please let me know too..   • Can't sign into linkedin when using a QT4 (WebKit-based) browser?

    I started using the lightweight QT4 browser for some of the time on my Mac. Most simple websites, and even quite a few AJAX-heavy web apps, work for me flawlessly, including gmail (!) However, with LinkedIn, I can't even manage to sign in. Even when I change the useragent to one of a regular browser, it keeps kicking me out. Any ideas what could be wrong and for some workaround?     Everything seems to work fine until i want to submit the form and update the database. Wildcard mapping works on requests like "/navigation/edit/1", but when i submit the form as: var ajaxPost = function(Url, Params) { Ext.Ajax.request({ url: Url, params: Params, method: 'POST', async: false, scope: this }); }; it says "200 bad response: syntax error" and in firebug there is "Failed to load source for: http://.../Navigation/edit/1".
