    Our Tomcat 6.0.29 goes down after reaching its maximum number of Threads. I would really appreciate any help with it because it is a production server.     I keep getting the following message, "Do you want the application “java” to accept incoming network connections?" First of all, what application? Second, if it's part of the browser, which sometimes the browser isn't open, it doesn't show me what page is requesting it. "Application" is very generic. Third what does that mean? Is it asking if anyone on the internet can make connections to my computer?

  • Exchange2010 has Private Machine Name and IP in outbound SMTP - How to remove?

    We have a domain (domain.local) that has IP Addresses in the 10.10.10.* range. In the outbound SMTP server traffic, I see the internal machine name (exchange.domain.local), and the internal ip address (10.10.10.55). The question is, how do you remove this header from exchange, or change it to have the external machine name/ip addresses. I am not talking about the HELO / EHLO handshake as part of the protocol. Please help.

    With a typical USB hard drive enclosure, is the full range of drive power management functionality available? In what may be an unrelated matter: is it possible to suspend a PC without unmounting an attached USB-powered drive, and then remounting it on resume? This is the behaviour I'm currently seeing (running Ubuntu linux 10.10). Are there certain models or brands that provide more complete control over this aspect of drive operation? My Friendly Neighbourhood Computer Store carries (part of) the Vantec Nexstar product line.

    I want to block access to some Samba shares from a certain machine, but somehow I can't get it to work: the machine can still access the shares, and I did restart and reload the samba daemon.   • raid 0 failure, drives look fine

    Hello, after a lovely blue screen my vista 64 machine decided to reconfigure one of my drives to no longer be part of my raid volume. So now my raid fails as it only has one member disk. This happened to me about 6 months ago and I just changed the disk in question back to a raid disk and all was well. However I cant seem to find that option in my bios or raid config anymore :( Any help would be appreciated

    I need to set up an Ubuntu server as a router. However we need to make it wireless and wired. I need a WLAN adapter for the wireless part of the router. I get my Internet connection on my server through my wireless adapter from my host but it automatically sees it as an Ethernet adapter instead of as a wireless adapter. Is there any way of making a (virtual) wireless adapter on Ubuntu server 12.04 inside a hyper-v machine?

    At work I've 4 different computers connected using a keyboard/video/mouse switch. Quite often when I switch to windows vista the resolution is totally wrong and I need to get the screen properties dialog, change to another wrong resolution (because the fun part is that the apparently current resolution listed in the dialog is the correct one) then re-switch to the correct resolution. I would really like to just shut that broken resolution autodetection code off. Is there a way to disable screen resolution autodetection in Windows Vista?

    I have an .htaccess file with a rewrite rule to get a redirect of every HTTP request to HTTPS. But now I have a problem that my robots.txt is not recognized by some online checker. If I remove the redirect from the .htaccess file the robots.txt is recognized correctly. Maybe I should exclude that the robots.txt is redirects to an HTTPS connection?     I'm running Ubuntu on an Oracle VirtualBox virtual machine. I clicked the "install Ubuntu" button, and it took me through a wizard. I am currently on the following step: Unfortunately, the "forward" button is disabled. What's up with this? I tried entering different data for the form on this step, going back and redoing part of the wizard, and rebooting the machine. Nothing worked. My host OS is Windows 7.

    I have a FreeBSD 8.0 amd64 box w/ 1 ATA drive for system root and 4 SATA drives as a RAIDZ pool. The ATA drive isn't mirrored nor part of any pool, but also doesn't hold any valuable data (other then the system). How can I recover my zpool if this ATA drive fails for any reason, but assume my RAIDZ vdev SATA drives remain intact? Should I also use at least a mirror configuration for that?

As part of the whole optimization I'd want to introduce echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches sleep 5 echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches in crontab. How often is it safe to execute something like this? Any other observation/suggestion is welcome.

    My network engineer states I am part of a cluster where two apache application servers(512G RAM each) have 142 instances each of Tomcat (of which my company represents 6 each with 2G RAM). This seems like a lot and my latency issues move with the hour of the day - 7AM CST software functions fine, 10AM CST - system slows significantly this slowness continues until 6PM CST. My question is how many Tomcat instances can one application server handle?
