• Is there a way to get Apache to serve files with the question mark in their name?

  I scraped a bunch of pages using wget -m -k -E. The resulting files have names in the form foo.php?bar.html. Apache guesses everything after the ? is a query string, is there a way to tell it to ignore the ? as the query string delimiter (and see foo.php?bar.html as the requested file and not foo.php)? To save you a trip to wget manpage: -m : mirror recursively -E : foo.php?bar becomes foo.php?bar.html -k : convert links in pages (foo.php?bar now links to foo.php?bar.html inside of all the pages so they display properly)

  I have an example function below that reads in a date as a string and returns it as a date object. If it reads a string that it cannot convert to a date, it returns an error. testFunction <- function (date_in) { return(as.Date(date_in)) } testFunction("2010-04-06") # this works fine testFunction("foo") # this returns an error Now, I want to use lapply and apply this function over a list of dates: dates1 = c("2010-04-06", "2010-04-07", "2010-04-08") lapply(dates1, testFunction) # this works fine But if I want to apply the function over a list when one string in the middle of two good dates returns an error, what is the best way to deal with this? dates2 = c("2010-04-06", "foo", "2010-04-08") lapply(dates2, testFunction) I presume that I want a try catch in there, but is there a way to catch the error for the "foo" string whilst asking lapply to continue and read the third date?

• Integrating Pentaho/Talend/etc. with an OR Mapper

  We have an application (Java) with an own OR mapper. Within this system we have what can be compared to Hibernate's interceptors (we call it triggers): Do specific actions just before saving data in the database, after it's deleted and so on. The underlying database is MySQL. Now we would like to use tools such as Pentaho Data Integration or Talend to convert data to put it into our system. It's no problem to do that directly on the SQL level, but by doing so we loose the built-in power of our triggers. Is there a way to somehow integrate any of the Data Integration solutions into our existing application? It would be great if there was a way to write into instances of our classes instead of writing into the database directly. Any hints welcome :-)

• FTP in NetBeans 6.1

  Is there an FTP browser hiding away in NetBeans 6.1? The help manual doesn't even suggest FTP exists. All I've been able to find so far is a tree viewer in the Services panel (no edit controls) and the ability to upload projects, folders and specific files from the Projects/Files views. Is there anywhere to delete or rename or will I have to keep switching back to my browser? I can see from the previews that there's a nice FTP controller in 6.5 but I'm not desperate enough to completely convert to a beta (yet).

  Hi, We are planning to migrate our DB to Oracle.We need to manually check each of the embedded SQL is working in Oracle as few may follow different SQL rules.Now my need is very simple. I need to browse through a file which may contain queries like this. String sql = "select * from test where name="+test+"and age="+age; There are nearly 1000 files and each file has different kind of queries like this where I have to pluck the query alone which I have done through an unix script.But I need to convert these Java based queries to Oracle compatible queries. ie. select * from test where name="name" and age="age" Basically I need to check the syntax of the queries by this.I have seen something like this in TOAD but I have more than 1000 files and can't manually change each one.Is there a way?   I have a data frame with a bunch of categorical variables. Some of them contain NA's and I use the addNA function to convert them to an explicit factor level. My problem comes when I try to treat them as NA's they don't seem to register. • Pulling a timestamp from an XML feed with PHP but seem to be to many digits

  I am pulling a timestamp from a feed and it gives 12 digits (1269088723811). When I convert it, it comes out as 1901-12-13 20:45:52, but if I put the timestamp into http://www.epochconverter.com/ it comes out as Sat, 20 Mar 2010 12:38:43 GMT, which is the correct time. epochconverter.com mentions that it maybe in milliseconds so I have amended the script to take care of it using $mil = $timestamp; $seconds = $mil / 1000; $date = date('Y-m-d H:i:s', date($seconds)); but it still converts the date wrong, 1970-01-25 20:31:23. What am I doing wrong?

• Saving a huge dataset into SQL table in a XML column - MS SQL, C#.Net

  Hello all I'm having a requirement where i've to save a dataset which has multiple tables in it in a sql table XML column by converting into an XML. The problem is that in some cases the dataset grows extremely huge and i get OutOfMemoryException. What i basically do is that i convert the dataset into an xml file and save it in the local disk and then load the XML again and send it as a stored procedure parameter. But when i write the dataset xml into the disk the file sizes over 700 Mb and when i load it in the XMLDocument object in memory i get OutOfMemoryException. How can get the dataset xml without saving it in a file and re-reading it again? Thank You NLV

• Where to find iPhone system buttons and icons graphics?

  Hey guys, I'm trying to find a way to use the original Apple system buttons and icons in a web site. Is there a way to get these original graphics in png format? There are not-so-nice ways to obtain them of course. Two I was thinking of: Save them from this link, then convert to png. Take screen captures on the iPhone itself, and cut the icons from the saved images. Is anyone aware of a nicer way to obtain the original graphics? Does anyone know where they are stored on the Mac? • Save a binary file in SQL Server as BLOB and text (or get the text from Full-Text index)

  Currently we are saving files (PDF, DOC) into the database as BLOB fields. I would like to be able to retrieve the raw text of the file to be able to manipulate it for hit-highlighting and other functions. Does anyone know of a simple way to either parse out the files and save the raw text on save, either via SQL or .net code. I have found that Adobe has a filtdump utility that will convert the PDF to text. Filtdump seems to be a command line tool, and i don't see a way to use a file stream. And what would the extractor be for Office documents and other file types? -or- Is there a way to pull out the raw text from the Full text index? Note i am trying to build a .net & MSSql solution without having to use a third party tool such as Lucene

I found a blog post using the List's Find method along with a delegate, but whereas that example has a separate class (Person), I'm attempting something like the following using an instance of the string object: // My definition of the List object.   I have a bunch of, I think, x264 encoded AVIs that I'd like to convert to m4v so that I can play with Quicktime. Here's how I created them First I dump the vob from DVD with this: $ mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile new.vob dvd://1 Then I compress it: $ mencoder -oac copy -o new.avi -ovc x264 -x264encopts crf=18 new.vob I tried doing this to convertthem to m4v, but it's blowing up... I tried dumping the h264/acc streams: $ mplayer new.avi -dumpvideo -dumpfile new.h264 $ mplayer new.avi -dumpaudio -dumpfile new.acc And remuxing(?) with MP4Box but I'm getting an error: $ MP4Box -add new.h264#video -add new.aac#audio new.m4v Cannot find H264 start code Error importing new.h264#video: BitStream Not Compliant So not sure what to do now...

  I would like to store keys pressed when I listen out for the keyDown on the stage. I can add the listener fine, but I'm not getting the character I want out of the event to store it into a string. • joomla SEF shows differrent links in Homepage than inner pages !!

  I'm enabling Joomla SEF , and get the following results when I link to an article from a homepage (frontpage) article: anywebsite.com/component/content/article/26/141-Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4 but when linking from other articles I get the result I want which is : anywebsite.com/Categor/141-Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4 and the link is both equal which is : index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=141:Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4&catid=26 any idea?! Edit: Does manually linking with this SEF link is a good idea , instead of waiting for joomla to convert it .. ? atleast as a last resort?

  I am using Joda Time library to convert my String dates to a real date, because this seemed like the easiest solution to do this. • c# HTTPListener encoding issue

  I have a Java application sending HTTP requests to a C# application. The C# app uses HTTPListener to listen for requests and respond. On the Java side I'm encoding the URL using UTF-8. When I send a \ character it gets encoded as %5C as expected but on the C# side it becomes a / character. The encoding for the request object is Windows-1252 which I think may be causing the problem. How do I set the default encoding to UTF-8? Currently I'm doing this to convert the encoding: foreach (string key in request.QueryString.Keys) { if (key != null) { byte[] sourceBytes =request.ContentEncoding.GetBytes(request.QueryString[key]); string value = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(sourceBytes)); } } This handles the non ASCII characters I'm also sending but doesn't fix the slash problem. Examining request.QueryString[key] in the debugger shows that the / is already there.

  Hi, I am trying to convert text into graphics using c#. My input is character string and output is bitmap with the input text. After lot of search I found some ways to do it, I found some techiques which uses this kind of techinque. For Example While creating Captcha, we have to print the character in the bitmap. But for that I should have the font installed in my windows. I can not perform such operation without installing the font. I have .ttf file with me but I dont want to install it because my work for that font is temporary only. Is there any way where I can extract out the Font's graphical information by providing the Character? I have also found font parser code http://swinglabs.java.sun.com/hudson/job/PDFRenderer%20Weekly%20Build/javadoc/com/sun/pdfview/font/package-summary.html Can anyone please provide me how to develpo similar thing using c#.Net? Or From where can I get the algorithm to parce font?
