  • How can I retrieve the value of a PASTE (copy-pasta) event in a GWT TextBox?

    Hello fellow SO members, I want to prevent the user from copy-pasting values in my TextBox IF AND ONLY IF the values do not respect a certain condition. For instance, I created a DigitsOnlyTextBox which will be used for phone numbers. I already made it so only Character.isDigit characters can be typed into the box, and the user cannot copy-paste values into it, using : this.sinkEvents(Event.ONPASTE); and public void onBrowserEvent(Event event) { super.onBrowserEvent(event); // Permet d'empêcher le copier-coller, donc d'entrer des caractères non-numériques if (event.getTypeInt() == Event.ONPASTE) { event.stopPropagation(); event.preventDefault(); } } But I'd like to verify if the copy-pasted String is "digits only" and if so, let the event happen (therefore the text added). tl;dr : see title Thank you for your time.   • How to login to gdata in GWT application deployed on GAE?

    I want to use the Google account login to retrieve the informations to be used for Google's gdata api so that when I start the application deployed on Google App Engine the user is asked for its login and I can then use this information on the server side to specify the credentials for Google Calendar login (through gdata api). How can I do that? I tried using Client login but it seems that there's no way to get password information from che Client object on the server side... thank you.

If I insert a space it seems that word wrap works, but I guess I want character wrap. Any ideas? I do not want a horizontal scrollbar.

  • Are there any data-binding solution that works in C++ and GWT and supports structures polymorphism?

    I expect it should share a common description, like XmlSchema or IDL and should generate classes for target language. I found Thrift and it's really nice solution, but it doesn't support structures polymorphism. I would like to have collections of base class objects, where I could place instances of subclasses, serialize this and deserialize at the opposite side. Some mechanism of polymorphic behavior support, like Visitor, would be a perfect. Does anybody know something suitable for these requirements?

  • Mac Text Editor (with function list)

    So I've got a Mac in the post coming to me, and will probably be doing quite a bit of development on it so I am looking for a text editor (PHP + HTML mainly). I curently use Notepad++ on Windows and I simply cannot live without the function list plugin (It displays all functions in the current PHP file in a box on the right). Do any Mac text editors have this functionality? I am fairly sure that Notepad++ isn't available on an Apple. Thanks!

  • Logitech mk520 (k520) keyboard Ctrl + Shift + ArrowKeys not working correctly. - Windows 8

    Ever since i installed windows 8, I'm unable to use Ctrl + Shift + Arrow Keys (to select words and phrases quickly in text editors) with any program. Ive found the same issue with other models of Logitech keyboards (not with any other brand, though) however, the solutions provided to those other models aren't working for me (or are impossible to complete, because of the difference in the model) If you have a possible solution, please reply!   • Why do XSLT editors insert tab or space characters into XSLT to format it?

    All XSLT editors I've tried till now add tab or space characters to the XSLT to indent it for formatting. This is done even in places within the XSLT where these characters are significant to the XSLT processor. XSLT modified for formatting in this way can produce output very different to that of the original XSLT if it had no formatting. To prevent this, xsl:text elements or other XSLT must be added to a sequence constructor to help separate formatting from content, this additional XSLT impacts on maintainability. Formatting characters also adversely impact on general usability of the tool in a number of ways (this is why word-processors don't use them I guess) and add to the size of the file. As part of a larger project I've had to develop a light-weight XSLT editor, it's designed to format XSLT properly, but without tab or space characters, just a dynamic left-margin for each new line. The XSLT therefore doesn't need additional elements to separate formatting tab or space characters from content. The problem with this is that if XSLT from this editor is opened in other XSLT editors, characters will be added for formatting reasons and the XSLT may therefore no longer behave as intended. Why then do existing XSLT editors use tabs or spaces for formatting in the first place? I feel there must be valid reasons, perhaps historical, perhaps practical. An answer will help me understand whether I need to put compatibility options in place in my XSLT editor somehow, whether I should simply revert to using tabs or spaces for both XSLT content and formatting (though this seems like a backwards step to me), or even whether enough XSLT users might be able to persuade their tools vendors to include alternative formatting methods to tabs or spaces.   • How do I make vim's autoindent not drop trailing spaces?

    In some text editors (e.g. Kate, gedit), when auto indent is enabled, pressing return twice will leave a trailing whitespace (which I want): if (code) { .... ....| } While others cater to the coding standard where trailing spaces (even in blank lines) aren't allowed: if (code) { ....| } What annoys me about this is that if I arrow up after auto-indenting, the auto-indent is lost: if (code) { | .... } If I run vim and :set autoindent , I get the latter behavior. My question is, how do I set vim to keep the trailing spaces rather than automatically removing them if they go unused?

  • Text editor for Mac that will open any file

    In Windows, every text editor I encountered allowed me to drag and drop any file type into it and it opened. Apparently, Mac app developers have a different philosophy because I can't find a simple free text editor for OS X that will do this. TextWrangler came highly recommended but it can't accomplish this simple feat. Can anyone suggest one? Edit apparently on at least some editors, there is a distinction between drag/drop in the document list area vs. the typing area. In addition to the accepted answer, this is one thing to be aware of. I still don't know why it doesn't work in TextEdit, but this is true for TextWrangler and Smultron.

  • Editor that supports renaming tabs for untitled docs?

    I sometimes need to copy/paste text into two windows and compare the contents for a quick hack, ie. without having to save both documents to disk, and display the two docs side-by-side vertically so I can scroll them independantly (WinMerge doesn't seem to support independent scrolling.) Since the documents only live in RAM, text editors will display a non-descript tab/filename like "Untitled1" or "New file 1": http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/1153/sidebysideunleddocs.jpg Does someone know of a Windows editor that supports... renaming tabs with more descriptive names even with documents that haven't been saved to disk, side-by-side, vertical tiling, and independant scrolling? But those rules are not applied to ul elements inside UI Binder template. What's wrong with my code?   • Right-margin marks in VS2010 text editors

    In VS2008, you could enable right-margin marks by creating a string registry entry named Guides under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\Text Editor. It also worked with the express editions: replace VisualStudio with VCExpress or VCSExpress. The value I had was: RGB(192,192,192) 80, 100 which gave me light gray lines at columns 80 and 100. I've just tried (and failed) to set them up in VC++2010 Express and VC#2010 Express; does anyone know if they're still supported?

  • Any good class diagram editors out there for Java (not UML)

    I'm looking for an editor that can create class diagrams, similar to the typical UML class diagram, but specifically for java (so using java terminology; instead of terms like "generalization, realization etc", we use the java equivalents "interface, abstract class, extends etc"). I've looked into UML several times, but each time I've been turned off by the shear amount of "stuff" that comes with UML. I just want to be able to model my java classes quickly and intuitively, without getting bogged down by all the cruft that comes with UML. Preferably, it would come with a source reader that can keep the diagram up to date, and with a few nice features like "show only public methods in this class" etc. As well, it would automatically "know" about the classes in the standard java library, and possibly even be able to read classes from jars. Performance is also a big thing for me, I don't like having to wait 2 seconds for a popup menu to appear, or watch the diagram jerk crazily while resizing an element in the model. What do you think, am I asking too much?
