  • Open Office: How to disable image link updates

    I'm writing a user manual to a card game and there is a looot of linked images. Open Office is working so slow because every time I flip to a page with linked images it starts to update them. Is it possible to tell Open Office to NOT update the links until I tell it to do so? I would like it to display the same snapshot it showed the last time I initiated link update.     Hello guys and gals... I have a LI with some information, including some links. I would like jQuery to make the LI clickable, but also remain the links in the LI. The Clickable part works. I just need the links within to work as well. NOTE: They work if you right click and choose "Open in new tab".     I have a preprocess function that works fine when the menu is single level list. However I would like it to work w/ suckerfish menus. I want to add a class to the top level menu item so that I can style it.   • Re-authentication required for registered-path links (to ASP.NET site) coming to IE from PowerPoint

    We're using URL routing based on Phil Haack's example, with config modifications based on MSDN Library article #CC668202, to provide "shareable" links for a ASP.NET forms site, and have run into a strange issue: For users attempting to open links from PowerPoint presentations, and who have IE set as their default browser, using one of these links forces (forms-based) re-authentication, even in the same browser instance with a live session. Info: We know the session is still alive. (Page returns information for the currently logged-in user; confirmed via debug watches) This doesn't happen with other browsers (FF, Chrome) or with other programs (Notepad++) as the URL source. We do not have a default path set, as this caused issues with root path handling at initial login. This primarily happens with PowerPoint, but will also happen in Word and OCS. On some machines, even after changing the default browser, Office apps will continue to use IE for these links, forcing this error. (A potential registry fix for this failed, but even if it had worked, we can't control default browser choice for our users.) We can't figure out if this is an Office oddity or is being caused by our decision to use app-level URL routing (rather than IIS rewriting). Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution?

    What I am trying to achieve is to extract all links with a href attribute that starts with http://, https:// or /. These links lie within a table (tbody tr td etc) with a certain class. I thought I could specify just the the a element without the whole path to it but it does not seem to work. I get a NullReferenceException at the line that selects the links: var table = doc.DocumentNode.SelectSingleNode("//table[@class='containerTable']"); if (table != null) { foreach (HtmlNode item in table.SelectNodes("a[starts-with(@href, 'https://')]")) { //not working I don't know about any recommendations or best practices when it comes to XPath.   • UIWebViewNavigationTypeLinkClicked event not getting fired for certain links

    Hi, I am using a UIWebView as an embedded browser within my iphone app. I am using the shouldStartLoadWithRequest function to handle UIWebViewNavigationTypeLinkClicked events for links clicked by a user. It is working as expected for a number of sites, but not for all. For example: when I click on any of the links on website http://www.foxnews.mobi, the UIWebViewNavigationTypeLinkClicked event is not getting fired. Same thing happens for some other sites. I read somewhere that links with blank target do not fire the event, however this is not the cause of the problem in my case. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi, I have some jquery code that intercepts links clicked on a page : $(document).ready(function() { $("a").click(function() { //do something here }); }); My problem is there are certain parts of the page that have not finished loading on document ready. They are populated via ajax calls. The links in these sections are not intercepted by my jQuery function above. I need the function to be run on document ready initially but then I need the new links to also have the same logic applied to them. Any help would be very much appreciated. This is an area that I am very unfamiliar with. I have written the jQuery stuff but the ajax code is an external component that I have no control over. Thanks in advance

    I'm trying to bind Fancy box links so that when the new links are created it will still work. I've seen a few other question on here but not really answered. This is what I'm trying to do. jQuery("a#[id^='domore_']").fancybox({ 'autoDimensions' : false, 'width' : 'auto', 'height' : 'auto' }); This works fine but when the page or links are reloaded by ajax it doesn't work. I tried using live() but I couldn't get it to work. How do you rebind or implement live on fancybox? Any way to do this? Thanks

I don't see how Example 2 knows to go to the Area_1419 controller?   • Parsing html for domain links

    I have a script that parses an html page for all the links within it. I am getting all of them fine, but I have a list of domains I want to compare it against. So a sample list contains list=['www.domain.com', 'sub.domain.com'] But I may have a list of links that look like http://domain.com http://sub.domain.com/some/other/page I can strip off the http:// just fine, but in the two example links I just posted, they both should match. The first I would like to match against the www.domain.com, and the second, I would like to match against the subdomain in the list. Right now I am using url2lib for parsing the html. What are my options in completely this task?

    Is there a way to set a limit on how many menu items users can add to Primary Links menu? I'm working on a Drupal site and I have a horizontal primary links nav bar. There is only room for no more than 7-8 links in the nav bar. I don't want the future maintainer of the site to add more than 8 items to the menu. Is there a way I can set a limit on that?   • Intercepting static and dynamic links using javascript

    Hi, I'm currently developing an ajax application and I'm looking for a feature that lets me intercept all static and dynamic links using javascript. The links look like these: <a href="link1/">link 1</a> <a href="link2/">link 2</a> etc. I then want the browser to redirect to: current.page/#link1/ rather than current.page/link1/. I'm using jQuery, so the live() function is an option, however using that as a solution just seems rather sluggish to me(am I hysterical?). If there is a way to intercept ALL links on a page, maybe through detecting a change in the address, that would greatly help. I've tried a few plugins for jQuery (jQuery address & SWFaddress) but they only seem to have event handlers that respond to changes in anchor tags in the address. Any ideas? thanks for your time

  • How to record when user follows external links without slowing user down

    I want to track when user clicks external links for analytics purposes. The simplest solution is to replace all external links with links to special record-and-redirect controller, but that would slow the user unnecessarily. The second idea would be to override click event and within in $.post a message to record controller, then let the main event handler happen, which will usually be either click (open link in same tab) or middle click (open in new tab) - good either way, and the user won't have to wait for wait for my server to record it, it's fire-and-forget. (I don't care if users without Javascript don't get tracked) Is that a reasonable way to go? Or what else would be the best way to track all external link clicks?

  • Hidden links are still clickable on the Android browser

    I've got a contextual menu that appears when a button is clicked. This menu has some links and after some seconds is hidden again. The problem is that after the menu has disappeared the links are still there. They are not shown but are clickable and the green border appears. And after some seconds they disappear. I've tryied many ways of hiding the menu: display: none, visibility: hidden, width: 0, height: 0, jquery hide, jquery fadeout... but none worked. Also hidding the links.     Is there a Linux utility that can create NTFS symbolic links? That is, a link on an NTFS partition that points to another NTFS folder - one that will work within Windows 7, specifically. I wish to relocate a folder that is normally in-use while Windows is running. This machine can already dual-boot into Ubuntu, so I'd like to leverage that.   • Creating windows links on Linux?

    I'm running a SAMBA file store for our Windows users, and I'd like to automatically generate windows LNK files linking to other network shares that the user needs access to. I've done quite a bit of googling and I can't find a way of creating windows links on Linux, or through Perl. I did find a perl module that looked promising in CPAN, but it will only run on Windows unfortunately. If it's not possible to create .LNK files, perhaps there is an alternative solution people can suggest to allow the users to click on a file in one SAMBA store to be linked to a different SAMBA share?   • Links won't open in Outlook

    About a week ago Chrome (my default browser) stopped working and I ended up reinstalling. After that, however, links in Outlook 2007, when clicked, no longer open. Instead, I get a warning that reads: General failure. The URL was: URL. Application not found. I presume that there is some MIME or file type association that needs to be configured at the OS level, but I've not had any luck so far. My operating system is Windows 7. Any ideas? EDIT #1 Wayne Johnston suggested I set Chrome as my default browser, but when I go to the Set Default Programs screen in Windows 7 (via Control Panel) I do not see Chrome in the list of programs. How do I get it to show up there?

  • Clicking hyperlinks in Email messages becomes painfully slow

    Running Windows 7 (RC, 64 bit). Suddenly, today, after months without a problem, clicking on links has become extremely slow. I've noticed this in two places. (1) clicking hyperlinks in Outlook email messages, which launches Firefox, takes around a minute. Launching Firefox by itself is instantaneous - I have an SSD drive and a very fast CPU. (2) opening Word documents attached to Outlook email messages also takes a surprisingly long time. The only thing these two might have in common is that they use the DDE mechanism, if I'm not mistaken, to send a DDE open command to the application. Under Windows XP this problem could sometimes be fixed by unchecking the "Use DDE" checkbox in the file type mapping, however, I can't find any equivalent under Windows 7. See here for someone else having what I believe is the same problem. See here for more evidence that it's DDE being super-super-slow.
