  • HTML 5 drag-drop into wysiwyg editor in Firefox

    I have a wysiwyg editor using the HTML 5 drag-drop api to allow the user to place widgets within the page they are editing. When the OnDrop event fires, I prevent the default event, and insert some html within the editor that represents the widget they inserted. I use execCommand("inserthtml", false, html) for this in Firefox. This works fine in IE, but in Firefox the html is not placed in the location where it was dropped. It always gets placed in the location where the previous selection was, which leads me to believe that cancelling the OnDrop event to override the default drop also cancels the selection change. Any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks!

    Hey! I have a problem I know how I would solve easily developing under eclipse - but not so easily developing under net beans. I want to create a custom swing widget - which I can instantiate by code as many as I need and attach them to my main panel. I have developed the rest of the GUI using the GUIBuilder. The problem is - im not entirely sure how to do this. Say I got 20 results back from a web service, I would wana loop round - and add 20 of these custom swing widgets - the custom swing widgets would look as follows : :Picture: :Label: :Label: Can anybody please help me, im not entirely sure how to do the custom widget either!   • Netbeans not Dploying/Debugging

    Hello all, I have this problem, it's the second time it happens to me, I'm using the NB IDE 6.9.1 and after a while I was working fine, but then It stopped deploying my webapp when debugging or running the application, I don't recall messing with the ant build scripts or any strange configurations, it successfully builds the dist folder and *.war file, but I cannot debug it or run it, all I get is ClassNotFoundException for my servlets. I am unsure of what extra information would help to solve this issue Its pretty annoying, I don't know how it got solved the last time, it just "went away" any help is truly appreciated.

    I've started using Joomla 1.5 recently and am using the TinyMCE online WYSIWYG editor that comes with the package to edit articles. I tend to write direct html and javascript rather than use the WYSIWYG functions, I find that after the first time the changes are applied(page updated) most of your html becomes 4-5 separate big paragraphs.     Everytime I type some text, it is overwriting what I have typed. I assume that the mode is set to overwriting, I want to insert the text not overwrite it, but I can't disable it because my insert key is mixed up with my delete key so everytime I enter insert to disable the overwrite mode, it just delete what I type. So how to disable this? I'm using centOS.. and it seems that my problem is only related to Netbeans because when I type here, it is set to insert mode.. but in Netbeans, it just overwrites the codes! help!

  • I've set an editor as default, how do I call it to open files in a shell?

    EDIT I thought of a better way to phrase the question. How can I find the alias that Ubuntu is using for a different text editor? Rather than using nano by typing nano file.txt, i'd like to be able to type sublime file.txt to open sublime editor. I don't know where to look to find these aliases. sudo update-alternatives --config editor does not show it as a choice, I only see the 'default' editors, like Nano and vim.tiny.

  • In ADUC MMC, Advanced View, how to get Attribute Editor tab on the result of a Find?

    In Win2008 MS added a new Tab on objects in ADUC. Called Attribute Editor it is like Novell Console One's Other tab, or an arbitrary LDAP editor view, or an ADSI Edit style view. Basically it shows all allowed attributes for the object class, and allows you to edit according to your permissions. You need to enable Advanced Options in the View menu before it shows up. This is great, however it only shows up when you browse the directory tree and select an object. If you use the Find tool and open an object Attribute Editor is not shown. How annoying! Especially if your domain has more than 2000 users in a single container, then you almost must use Find to get to an object. Is there any way to make the Attribute Editor tab show up after using Find to open an object?

It is small, it is fast, it is configurabel, and since I've used it (and it's predecessor QEdit) for over twenty years, my fingers can do the editing on autopilot, while the brain is busy with syntax and design. Do you know of a similar editor preferably one that runs on Windows, Linux and OS X (and Solaris ..) I've tried to use VIM (I know how to use VI even longer thant TSE) but it doesn't feel right.

  • What exactly is the difference between the Dreamhost IDE and Netbeans?

    I just started using Netbeans about a week ago, and really like it thus far. Now I'm seeing something about Dreamhost IDE which I guess is a program that is built using the Netbeans platform. I use Dreamhost as the hosting company for many of my projects. What is the benefit of using Dreamhost IDE over Netbeans? Documentation on the software is non-existent from what I can tell (not even a mention in the Dreamhost wiki). All I was able to find was a short description of what it was on a Sourceforge download page, and I found a short silent video on YouTube demoing it. So I guess I'm asking, what features is it bringing to the table, and what is the difference between it and Netbeans? The description on the Sourceforge page is as follows (typos retained)... DreamHost IDE is php and ruby integrated development environment built on NetBeans IDE and provides easy deploy of your applications to the DreamHost services. Also provides you an easy eay hew to setup these services. Maybe the answer is in the description, and I just don't comprehend it?

    How do I view directories that begin with dot and how do I browse application directories in Netbeans? I can't seem to view directories that begin with a "dot" through the open file dialog in Netbeans. Similarly, I can't browse any application directory e.g. File-Open File-"someapp.app". Attempting to browse "someapp.app" gives the error "someapp.app is a directory". Altering or removing the regex under Preferences-Miscellaneous-File-Ignored Files Pattern has no effect; directories that begin with dot stay invisible. I'm on OSX 10.5.8 and I've tried to get this working on netbeans 6.5-6.8 to no avail. I posted this to the on the netbeans irc and mailing list but haven't heard anything back. Any help would be appreciated!

  • How can I tell NetBeans to use the latest available version of a JAR for a library?

    I have a Netbeans project with a library defined which includes several JARs. These JARs are versioned like lib\blah\com.blah.wibble.jar_0.6.1.201004161543 . These are nightly builds from another project so that version changes often. I know I can point NetBeans at the specific JARs with the version name, but this means that every time I get a new version I have to update the NetBeans library. I can also strip the version name from the JARs, but this makes it hard to track down bugs. "What version of the blah JARs?" is usually the second thing we ask when we find a bug. Is it possible to tell Netbeans to use included com.blah.wibble.jar_[??????] where ???? is some sort of automatic pointer to use the latest available version?

In Netbeans 6.8., I go to Tools Templates Java Java Class, and modify the template. However, nothing seems to change. I tried restarting Netbeans, just in case, but the old template is still used. How do I get Netbeans to recognize changes to the template for Java Classes?

  • Netbeans has Realy Bad FTP support , Forces me to download all Files even before I can continue

    Hello Friends , have started using Netbeans recently after using Aptana, phpdesigner and Notepad++ . I love Netbeans for it's speed and it has almost everything I want except for the fact that the FTP support is really Bad. To start working on a FTP server , I have to download all the files to my localhost first which is such a waste of bandwidth & if those files are many ie. 1000+ files then it's really annoying . I have tried mounting remote FTP as local filesystem in Windows and then using Netbeans to access it but that does'nt work out too .. If anybody using netbeans a lot for PHP development can guide me on this , then I would be highly obliged.. this trivial problem is keeping me from using this awesome IDE . Thanks & Regards .
