• Git Pull works; Git push fails

  I thought I set up my key pairs correctly -- I can do git pulls. I can do git commits. But when I do a git push, it counts objects, decompresses, then says: fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly. What's the issue here? I'm a super user, so it's not folder writable / readable access problems -- it must be the way I set up the encryption key pair... how do I debug this ... since git pull works?

  Well, i need to make simulator for non-deterministic Push-Down Automaton. Everything is okey, i know i need to do recursion or something similar. But i do not know how to make that function which would simulate automaton. I got everything else under control, automaton generator, stack ... I am doing it in java, so this is maybe only issue that man can bump on, and i did it. So if anyone have done something similar, i could use advices. • automatic push to CDN deployment strategy

  Does anyone have ideas for a strategy to push content to a CDN upon deployment? The key issue I'm facing is that we have a site that is available in various contexts: local development, development server, staging, then finally live. The liver version of the site needs to load assets from a domain, which will be pointed to a CDN: assets.domain.com. However, we will have numerous references to the assets pointing to a relative folder, e.g. /images/ in css, possibly in js, and in HTML & source. Our new site will use capistrano for deployment and it may be that we can hook in another build tool (apache ant?) or some custom script to search / replace paths. I am wondering if anyone has had to deal with this issue before and what solutions you put in place to automate managing the CDN in terms of pushing content up to the CDN and managing html & css references to assets in the CDN. • UINavigationController Push Crash in Distribution but not Release

  I have a UINavigationController that I will be pushing a new view onto from selection of a UITableView row. I have tested this feature in "Release" configuration and it works perfectly, however when I build for "Distribution" it crashes when trying to push the new view onto the stack. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { /* irrelevant code */ DetailsViewController *detailController = [[DetailsViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"DetailsViewController" bundle:nil]; detailController.name = tmpName; detailController.time = tmpTime; [self.navigationController pushViewController:detailController animated:YES]; return nil; } An exception is thrown on the line where the controller is pushed onto the stack. I have verified that the detailController is not nil. Again, this only happens in my "Distribution" build of the code. Any ideas?

• TCP Server to push data to a Web Browser

  Hi, I have a TCP server, which is connected to a web page via a Web browser. It is easy to send a request to the TCP server by the web page via the Web Browser, but is there a way that TCP server can push data to the web browser, without waiting for a request from browser side?? My initial idea was that this is impossible, since a browser is stateless. But I was told there are ways to do that... Any ideas? Thank You!!

• Can I undo the last git push?

  A team member accidentally pushed half a gig of unwanted zips to the remote repo last night when they were in a rush. Yes... oops. Nobody has pulled or committed since. Ideally I want to just 'undo' what happened. I have looked at filter-branch and was thinking of trying something like git filter-branch --tree-filter 'rm -f *.zip' HEAD but that would be local, and I can't figure out how to do it direct on the remote repo. Is there a simpler way to undo what happened? If she amends her last commit and pushes again will that undo the push - ie actually remove those files from the history? Obviously if she deletes them, commits and pushes again then that still leaves the content in the repo, which is no good.

• Push a bookmark to a user's home screen in Android

  Android 2.1 (not sure how much that matters) My test hardware is a Motorola Droid (not sure how much that matters either) I want to push a bookmark/internet-shortcut to a user's home screen as a result of them clicking on a link - via their browser of choice. I know they can usually set the bookmark themselves and then choose to put it on their home screen. But I'd like to provide a link like "Put a shortcut to this page on your home screen" that takes care of everything kind of in the background/underneath. Is this even possible? What parts of the framework would I need access to to make it happen?

• Git workflow idea to push an unfinished local branch to remote for backup purposes

  Say I'm currently working on a new feature which I've branched off of the 'dev' branch and I've been working for several days and it's not yet ready to be merged with 'dev' and pushed. Although I have made several commits and have been pulling changes to dev and then merging dev into my feature branch to keep myself updated. Here's my question. Is it a good idea to push my feature branch to a new branch (with the same name as my local branch) onto origin (say GitHub) just for back-up purposes and later on when it's merged into 'dev' and/or 'master' delete it from origin.

• Push notification or thread with timer

  Hi all, In my application, I'm having functionality like twitter that when you have not refreshed your screen, and if there're new messages then you get this message that "You have n new messages" and a refresh button, which on press will refresh the screen. I'm basically fetching all the data from an xml with some url. In case of thread, I need to call a timer after some time period which might affect the app performance. Can anybody please suggest wheather what will be better to use push notifications or thread with timer? Thanx in advance.

• Push a detail view in UITableViewCell class

  My class inherit from UITableViewCell, i have make some custom transitions to push a new detail view when an image get selected. [UIView transitionWithView:self.masterView duration:0.5 options:UIViewAnimationOptionShowHideTransitionViews animations:^ { [self.masterView addSubview:self.detailImage]; } completion:nil]; My code works fine, the detailImage subview is shown with a transition, but this transition is not what i want exactly. What i want to perform is a simple transition from bottom to up. The list of UIViewAnimation doesn't contain such animation. Is there any way to use that transition without changing my class inheritance to UINavigationController ?

• Heroku- was working before computer restarted, now can't push to remote repository- access denied

  My heroku/git set up was working perfectly until I restarted my computer. Now when I attempt to push any change to the remote repository I get the following error. ! Your key with fingerprint ..... is not authorized to access ..... fatal: Could not read from remote repository. Please make sure you have the correct access rights and the repository exists. I tried looking at heroku keys:add but that didn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas? Thanks!

  During configuring replication on one of the server, I received following error. This is very common error and the solution of the same is even simpler. MSDTC on server is unavailable. Changed database context to publisherdatabase. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 8501) Solution: Enable “Distributed Transaction Coordinator” in SQL Server. • SQL SERVER – Generate Database Script for SQL Azure

  When talking about SQL Azure the common complain I hear is that the script generated from stand-along SQL Server database is not compatible with SQL Azure. This was true for some time for sure but not any more. If you have SQL Server 2008 R2 installed you can follow the guideline below to generate script which is compatible with SQL Azure. As above images are very clear I will not write more about them. SQL Azure does not support filegroups. Let us generate script for any table created on PRIMARY filegroup for standalong SQL Server and compare it with the script generated for SQL Azure. You can clearly see that there is no filegroup in the code generated for SQL Azure. Give it a try and please your comment here about what do you think about the same. One can achieve this using OVER clause and ROW_NUMBER() function. Now SQL Server 2011 has come up with the new Syntax for paging. Here is how one can easily achieve it.   I recently got following email from one of the reader. Hi Pinal, Even thought my database is in full recovery mode when I try to take log backup I am getting following error. BACKUP LOG cannot be performed because there is no current database backup. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo) How to fix it? Thanks, [name and email removed as requested] Solution / Fix: This error can happen when you have never taken full backup of your database and you try to attempt to take backup of the log only. Take full backup once and attempt to take log back up. If the name of your database is MyTestDB follow procedure as following.   In recent SQL Training I was asked, how can one figure out what was the last SQL Statement executed in sessions. The query for this is very simple. It uses two DMVs and created following quick script for the same. SELECT session_id, TEXT FROM sys.dm_exec_connections CROSS APPLY sys.dm_exec_sql_text(most_recent_sql_handle) AS ST While working with DMVs if you ever find any DMV has column with name sql_handle you can right away join that DMV with another DMV sys.dm_exec_sql_text and can get the text of the SQL statement.   Blog reader Joyesh Mitra recently left a comment to one of my very old posts about SQL SERVER – 2005 Take Off Line or Detach Database, which I have written focusing on taking the database offline. However, I did not include how to bring the offline database to online in that post. The reason I did not write it was that I was thinking it was a very simple script that almost everyone knows. However, it seems to me that there is something I found advanced in this procedure that is not simple for other people.
