  I have to update a field with a value which is returned by a join of 3 tables. Example: select im.itemid ,im.sku as iSku ,gm.SKU as GSKU ,mm.ManufacturerId as ManuId ,mm.ManufacturerName ,im.mf_item_number ,mm.ManufacturerID from item_master im, group_master gm, Manufacturer_Master mm where im.mf_item_number like 'STA%' and im.sku=gm.sku and gm.ManufacturerID = mm.ManufacturerID and gm.manufacturerID=34 I want to update the mf_item_number field values of table master with some other value which is joined in the above condition. How to frame the SQL ?

  Hi, I've got an Access application with an update query with the following syntax: UPDATE TABLE1, TABLE2 SET TABLE2.VALUE1 = TABLE1.VALUE1, TABLE2.VALUE2 = TABLE1.VALUE2, TABLE2.VALUE3 = TABLE1.VALUE3, TABLE2.VALUE4 = TABLE1.VALUE4 The query is working but I do not understand what's going on here.   How can I force Hibernate to update an entity instance even if the entity is not dirty? I'm using Hibernate 3.3.2 GA, Hibernate Annotations and Hibernate EntityManager btw. I really want Hibernate to execute the generic UPDATE statement even if no property on the entity has changed. I need this because some event listeners need to get invoked to do some additional work when the application runs for the first time. Thanks!

• Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Drivers Missing Would Not Install?

  I am building my dev machine with WS2008R2SP1. I consider Windows Server as the best development environment for C# since I tend to focus on server-centric (integration) applications. The desktop flavor of Windows (7) doesn't play nicely with things like Commerce Server or BizTalk... so I to like stick to the environment I develop for. Previously I used to develop inside of VM's but I've found that it is super inefficient and tends to take a toll on the laptops. (I've gone through two of them in 6 months). Problem is that I multiple devices that do not want to be recognized by Windows: My machine is Dell Precision M4500: Intel Core i7-Q740, 1TB HDD, 8GB RAM, Dell re-branded Broadcom DW1501 802x11n Half-Mini Card, Dell re-branded Broadcom DW375 Bluetooh Module, Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network connection NVidia Quadro FX1800 Graphics The devices in question are the Dell rebranded broadcom network and bluetooth adapters: Broadcom USH: USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&REV_0101&MI_00 USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_00 DW375 Bluetooth Module USB\VID_413C&PID_8187&REV_0517 USB\VID_413C&PID_8187 When I ran the broadcom installers I get "Operating System not supported" which I think is a big oversight on Broadcom's part. Why check for system version string? UGHGHGH Moreover if I try to manually force the driver in windows... I get an error: Driver Management concluded the process to install driver FileRepository\btwampsecfl.inf_amd64_neutral_d8fc2b85d035ed47\btwampsecfl.inf for Device Instance ID USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_00\7&66DE6C9&0&0000 with the following status: 0xe0000217. '- or - Driver Management concluded the process to install driver FileRepository\btwampfl.inf_amd64_neutral_d4c4acf036c61299\btwampfl.inf for Device Instance ID USB\VID_413C&PID_8187\90004EEEF5A6 with the following status: 0xe0000217. I googled the 0xe0000217 error code and it says Bad service install section in the driver inf file... Any ideas on how to fix this? I also tried the post by BetaIQ on MSDN Forum, unfortunately the links to the driver package included in the post were dead :( PS. On a side note I also do mobile development for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone, and BB. Having the bluetooth is quite useful with mobile devices.

(TESTED ON 14.04) Open your terminal and type: sudo apt-get install v86d (TEST WITHOUT) Then: sudo gedit /etc/default/grub Find this line: #GRUB_GFXMODE=640x480 Add below (of course choose your resolution): GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768x32 (TRY WITHOUT OR DIFFERENT BIT DEPTH) GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1920x1080x32 (YOU CAN ALSO USE THE KEEP OPTION) Save file and type in terminal: echo FRAMEBUFFER=y | sudo tee /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/splash (ALLOWS TO AVOID THAT THE SPLASH SCREEN IS DISPLAYED FOR A FEW SECONDS) sudo update-initramfs -u sudo update-grub2 For all those who complain about the presence of black borders in "plymouth", try to make these changes before installing the nvidia driver or switch back from nvidia to nouveau and from nouveau to nvidia. Kernel update from the Software Updater? It happened to me; I don't know if it matters. I don't know for which of these reasons, but after a few reboots, the black borders are gone. • Ubuntu stuck in low resolution after UNinstalling / disabling NVidia drivers

  Tried the Nvidia driver, installed using the Additional Drivers panel. Didn't like it much; the CPU seemed to overheat more and the brightness controls stopped working. Also selecting a second display is a pain using that horrible NVidia settings thing. So wanted to disabled it again.. problem is, UBuntu is then stuck in either 640x480 or 800x600 (second time I tried to install it back and then remove again). How can I get this back the way it was? The original Ubuntu drivers worked just fine, allowing me to run Unity and games properly. I tried a xserver-xorg reconfigure but this didn't do anything. (No xorg.conf file either). This is on a Lenovo Thinkpad T410i

• Slow Wireless Reconnect After Suspend - Broadcom 4312 with STA drivers

  I am using 10.10 with STA drivers, I reinstalled ubuntu because the b43 drivers were giving me a huge hassle along with some weird kernel issues. My wireless speed is fine, everything works well, except upon restart of computer and after taking the computer out of suspend. It takes about 30-45 seconds for the wireless to reconnect, and I think it is a driver issue (I clicked on the network manager at the top and for about 30 seconds there are no wireless networks listed.) I tried this advice already: http://lilserenity.wordpress.com/2007/10/31/fix-ubuntu-dropping-wireless-on-suspendhibernate-resume/ which basically says to change this: STOP_SERVICES="" to STOP_SERVICES="networking" in the file /etc/default/acpi-support This did not help anything. Something to note is that the issue does not occur when I am logging back in after already logging in once and logging out.

Alternative drivers? The additional drivers tool shows nothing. I'm specifically interested in improving Java's Java2D rendering speed, because I'll be running a "stat screen" written in that language on it.

• How can I install wireless drivers without internet?

  [Ubuntu 12.04 LTS] I have a HP Pavilion dv6 and I need a Broadcom driver (closed source) to access the internet. However, I need to download that, which I am unable to do because I do not have internet access. My ethernet port has always been broken and I have not been able to access the internet since I installed Ubuntu. I need to find a way for me to install those drivers desperately. I still have Ubuntu on my USB, which for some reason, did have the ability to install that driver (I think it's due to the fact that it already has it somewhere in the files). On my USB Ubuntu, I have that particular driver installed. I was thinking that if one of you knows where drivers are installed, I could locate those files on the USB Ubuntu, then plug in an additional USB to copy them; restart my computer to the harddrive Ubuntu and then install the files from the (additional) USB. I would really appreciate help since to me a computer without internet is useless.

  a few days ago I installed ubuntu 11.10 on my friends computer. Despite all of our efforts we are unable to open the default unity and it will only open the 2d interface. I have been told in the IRC chat room that we need to install the graphics card drivers(nvidia geforce 420.) When I check the additional drivers app it doesn't show any to install. I tried installing the ones from the nvidia website but no luck, I also forgot to mention. I don't know if it means anything but he has a 64 bit computer and it is ubuntu 11.10 64bit.
