  • Update an Android market app to lower sdk?

    I have an app on the market that requires sdk 2.0 I want to rewrite and publish it using 1.6 to find a wider audience. The question is: if I update my already published app with an sdk downgrade to 1.6 will it then show up to users with phones at 1.6? I know currently the market search shows my app only to those that have 2.0 phones.

  • SVN tags: How not to update/checkout them?

    In many projects, I check out the complete repository and have then the standard directory structure: project/ branches/ tags/ trunk/ If I do an svn up project, it's all fine with the branches and trunk folders, but, of course, the tags folder is updated, too, and filled with (mostly) lots of tagged versions that are of no value for my work and only occupy disk space. How can I except the tags folder from an svn update? Especially, how can I do this locally only, that is, without committing that back to the repository, as a solution with the svn:ignore keyword would do?

    I have an OCZ Vertex LE 100GB drive. It's actually 128GiB of NAND flash, with a whopping 28%+ reserved for write combining. Most 128GiB drives are actually ~ 115GB usable (and marketed as 120GB or 128GB). There were rumors that the reserved fraction could be decreased on OCZ 100GB drives. Can anyone provide a link to firmware that does that, or an official statement that no such firmware exists? (NB: I recently installed the 1.24 firmware from the OCZ site, it didn't affect the capacity. Possibly because the rumors say the capacity change is destructive to existing content.) Of possible interest: flashing firmware was more of a pain than it should have been -- the tool didn't detect the disk until I booted an older Windows install off a secondary hard disk, I suspect the Intel SATA driver is the issue and tool only works with the msachi.sys driver.

I was first using handler.sendMessage in place of handler.handleMessage but when I had several task in my connectionManager, the progressbar was updated only at the end of all tasks.   • Updating Nvidia drivers 11.10 (nvidia 290.xxx.xxx)

    Hi I installed NVIDIA drivers using terminal. I added the newest repositories, to ensure getting the newest driver, once that was complete, I ran the following command: sudo apt-get install nvidia-current This started the download and successfully installed the (290.xx.xxx) version. The issue I have is when opening X-server application it still shows NVIDIA driver version 173.14.30. Can someone walk me through correcting this so it corresponds to the driver installed? Thanks

    Last week, I have received a very interesting question and I find in email and I really liked the question as I had to play around with SQL Script for a while to come up with the answer he was looking for. Please read the question and I believe that all of us face this kind of situation. “Pinal, In our database we have recently introduced ModifiedDate column in all of the tables. Now onwards any update happens in the row, we are updating current date and time to that field. Now here is the issue, when we added that field we did not update it with a default value because we were not sure when we will go live with the system so we let it be NULL. Now modification to the application went live yesterday and we are now updating this field. Here is where I need your help. We need to update all the tables in our database where we have column created ModifiedDate and now want to update with current datetime. As our system is already live since yesterday there are several thousands of the rows which are already updated with real world value so we do not want to update those values. Essentially, in our entire database where ever there is a ModifiedDate column and if it is NULL we want to update that with current date time?  Do you have a script for it?” Honestly I did not have such a script. This is very specific required but I was able to come up with two different methods how he can use this method. Method 1 : Using INFORMATION_SCHEMA SELECT 'UPDATE ' + T.TABLE_SCHEMA + '.' + T.TABLE_NAME + ' SET ModifiedDate = GETDATE() WHERE ModifiedDate IS NULL;' FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES T INNER JOIN INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS C ON T.TABLE_NAME = C.TABLE_NAME AND c.COLUMN_NAME ='ModifiedDate' WHERE T.TABLE_TYPE = 'BASE TABLE' ORDER BY T.TABLE_SCHEMA, T.TABLE_NAME; Method 2: Using DMV SELECT 'UPDATE ' + SCHEMA_NAME(t.schema_id) + '.' + t.name + ' SET ModifiedDate = GETDATE() WHERE ModifiedDate IS NULL;' FROM sys.tables AS t INNER JOIN sys.columns c ON t.OBJECT_ID = c.OBJECT_ID WHERE c.name ='ModifiedDate' ORDER BY SCHEMA_NAME(t.schema_id), t.name; Above scripts will create an UPDATE script which will do the task which is asked. We can pretty much the update script to any other SELECT statement and retrieve any other data as well.     First time running Ubuntu 11.04 and getting used to Unity, I decided to install proprietary drivers for my Nvidia graphic card. The output of lspci | grep VGA is: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation Device 0df5 (rev a1) If I activate the driver that is "recommended", next time I try to login in a Unity session it just changes to the classic. Everything at my home was fine: Wireless identified and connected. As soon as I went to my girlfriend's house the trouble started. I couldn't connect to wireless (authentication... times out and asks for authentication) I started doing internet searching, tried a few solutions posted on line using terminal commands. No solutions. I decided to upgraded to 12.10-13.04 and that left me with a worse problem: I can no longer see ANY networks what so ever. Wireless card is ON, with out a doubt. Wired connection works.
