  • HTML Redirect issue with Apache2

    I am facing an issue with the ProxyPass on my Apache server on Ubuntu. I have configured Apache to deal with Virtual Hosts on my server. There is an application with runs on the server and uses ports 8001 8002. I need to do something like www.example.com/demo/origin to display the contents that I would see when I visit www.example.com:8000. The contents to be displayed are a host of HTML pages. This is the section of the virtual host config that has issues ProxyPass /demo/vader http://www.example.com:8001/ ProxyPassReverse /demo/vader http://www.example:8001/ ProxyPass /demo/skywalker http://www.example.com:8002/ ProxyPassReverse /demo/skywalker http://www.example.com:8002/ Now when I visit example.com/demo/skywalker, I see the first page of port 8002, say the login.html page. The second should have been www.example.com/demo/skywalker/userAction.html, instead the server shows www.example.com:8000/login.html. In the error logs I see something like: [Mon Nov 11 18:01:20 2013] [debug] mod_proxy_http.c(1850): proxy: HTTP: FILE NOT FOUND /htdocs/js/demo.72fbff3c9a97f15a4fff28e19b0de909.min.js I do not have any folder htdocs in the system. This is only an issue while viewing .html pages. Otherwise, no such issue occurs. When I visit localhost:8001 it will show any and all contents without any errors or issues. www.example.com/demo/skywalker displays a separate webpage www.example.com/demo/origin displays a different webpage and www.example.com/demo/vader displays a different webpage. I have also tried to use one more type of combination, <Location /demo/origin/> ProxyPass http://localhost:8000/ ProxyPassReverse http://localhost:8000/ ProxyHTMLURLMap http://localhost:8000/ / </Location> This fails as well. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help me resolve this issue.

    Hello, I have a FastCGI (mod_fastcgi)problem. It happens every once in a while, and does not casue a complete server meltdown, just 500 errors. Here are a couple things. First I am using APC so PHP is in control of it's own processes, not FastCGI. Hi all, I have a Wifi USB dongle in a PC, that serves as an AP for laptop. wlan1: 192.168.2.1, netmask 255.255.255.0, routed: route add -net 192.168.2.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 192.168.2.1 ping 192.168.2.2 (laptop): ping was ok for lot of packets. Now, I try to access 192.168.2.1:80/myindex.html (apache) from laptop, and can see that own 1kb test page. But, trying to access 192.168.2.1:80/my.jpg, I see the following: GET /my.jpg HTTP/1.1 200 OK <jpg header, about a kilobyte> <TCP packet retransmisson> <TCP packet retransmisson> <end of stream> It seems to be a hostapd's problem (networked stuff worked fine with Ad-Hoc), but it may be also forwarding/routing problem too. What to google for? Even more strange, SSH to that host works fine.

  • How to make OS X send LOCAL IP address in www request headers?

    I need to be able to send the local IP address of a computer along with the headers when making requests to a website. Similar to the way you can get the _SERVER["REMOTE_ADDR"] in php, but the local ip (e.g. 192.168.100.1) This will be an intranet so the environment can be controlled. Anything can be installed on the computer, etc. This will be on a Mac OS X computer. Hoping for both Safari AND Firefox. But would be open to using one one. Does anyone know if this is possible?     Hello! I have a domain, that is registered at a service provider but my site (wordpress blog) is hosted in a shared account with a friend in another other host service. I want to become seperate from this friend because I'm tired of boring him with my blog downtimes. Now, my problem is that I signed up to Amazon EC2 service and I created a instance (a virtual machine) to host my wordpress blog and now I'd like to redirect mydomain.com to this instance at Amazon EC2 and I don't know how to proceed in order to achieve that. The instance at Amazon EC2 is up and running (it's a 64bit linux machine) but I couldn't redirect mydomain.com to this instance at my host service webpanel. Could someone help me please???

    I have project hosted with gitolite on my own server, and I would like to deploy the whole project from gitolite bare repository to apache accessible place, by post-receive hook. The git source path is /var/lib/gitolite/project.git/, which is owned by gitolite:gitolite And with this permissions redmine (been working under www-data user) can't achieve git repository to fetch all changes The whole project should be placed here: /var/www_virt.hosting/domain_name/htdocs/, which is owned by www-data:www-data. What changes I should do, to work properly post-receive hook in git, and redmine with repository ? what I did, is: # id www-data uid=33(www-data) gid=33(www-data) groups=33(www-data),119(gitolite) # id gitolite uid=110(gitolite) gid=119(gitolite) groups=119(gitolite),33(www-data) does not helped. I want to have no any problem to work apache (to view project), redmine to read source files for project (under git) and git (doing deploy to www-data accessible path) what should I do ?

    I am trying to create a demo for a class of mine and I want to configure "fake" domain names on my laptop. A previous question "Can I specify a port in an entry in my /etc/hosts on OS X?" contained an answer indicating that to do it you must use /etc/hosts plus changes to the iptables "If OS X uses iptables you could point xyz.com to some ip in the hosts file like 157.166.226.25 and then: sudo iptables -t nat -A OUTPUT -p tcp --dport 80 -d 157.166.226.25 -j DNAT --to-destination 127.0.0.1:3000 " Since OS X doesn't use iptables, how do I do the equivalent using the tools available on OS X? (the original "asker" seemed to know how to do this, so it wasn't explained). Thanks in advance.

  • Mac Outlook showing all links in smart quotes?

    I was given the task of fixing my friend's email today and really don't know what the problem is. When an email is sent from his laptop (Mac) from Outlook the email address link in the signature shows exactly like this: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. Additionally the website link displays like this: www.website.com<http://www.website.com>. And lastly, the image comes through as cid:randomstringofnumbers. When I sent him an email and he sent one back it converted my signature to same weird formatting. Plus, even in the header where it shows our emails, they are displaying the same way: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. And the weirdest thing is that this problem seems to be "compounding". So when I scroll down to the last, most recent email in the thread I see this www.website.com<http://www.website.com> next email shows this: www.website.com<http://www.website.com><http://www.website.com> and the next this: www.website.com<http://www.website.com><http://www.website.com><http://www.website.com> This is happening to the emails too, everywhere. I'm thinking this might be something to do with smart quotes and the auto formatting but I'm not sure. Could this be the problem? And if so how do I fix it?

  • Google indexing page with parameters but page is Disallowed in robots.txt

    I have the following in robots.txt: User-agent: * Disallow: /refer.php User-agent: NinjaBot Allow: / Sitemap: http://www.mysite.com/sitemap.xml The refer.php file does various things depending on what GET parameters are passed to it. When I do a Google search, I see tons of results for pages like this: http://www.mysite.com/refer.php?o=23945 http://www.mysite.com/refer.php?o=39858 http://www.mysite.com/refer.php?o=9683 http://www.mysite.com/refer.php?o=10569 http://www.mysite.com/refer.php?o=58304 http://www.mysite.com/refer.php?o=69604 Is the reason that Google is indexing these because I don't have an asterisk * after refer.php in the robots.txt ? Should changing it to Disallow: /refer.php* fix the problem?
