  • What PHP, Xdebug and Eclipse configurations work on Windows 7 64 bit?

    I have been mucking around for days, trying to find the right combination that lets me debug with breakpoints and variable viewing, in Eclipse, without crashing Apache. PHP 5.3? PHP 5.2? Eclipse Helios? Eclipse Galileo? One or the other with certain versions of xdebug or php? Or do I really need to use NetBeans or something else? Is my 64 bit OS the problem? Do need specific 64bit versions of PHP, Eclipse or Xdebug to work on Windows 7 64? Any special xdebug config options and tricks that I need in php.ini? Like turning off xdebug.profiler_enable or not using quotes around my zend_extension path to the xdebug dll? A Vhosts issue? Scrap the whole thing and go back to Win XP or Ubuntu? The "secret ingredient"? Thanks! I miss my debugger since I got a new laptop with Win 7! Sadly it looks like some of the drivers (switchable graphics, multi-touch pad, etc) on my lappy don't work right with Ubuntu yet, so I feel a bit trapped on Win :( I know I will figure something out eventually, but I've been at this trial-and-error game a while and am seeking some guidance. Is there a way to get Passenger to find my assets without me having to rewrite my application? Any help would be appreciated. Update 6/23/2012 10:00 am CDT GMT-6 I corrected the problems with my file and have successfully executed the rake assets:precompile command. I still get the index page as before. I have made no other changes. I did a passenger-status command and it is still loaded. Restarting Apache did nothing.

    Hi, I install apache, mysql, php and then phpmyadmin on ubuntu desktop 10.04 version I test apache: localhost with browser and its works. I test mysql with console and its works. I test phpmyadmin http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ and get error 404 not found I see that solution for that brobem, copy /phpmyadmin/ to /www/, but I dont want to put in /www/ to my websites files (maybe I wrong or miss something-please tell me in this case). How this problem can be solved in the best way? Thanks

  • Digitize video?

    I got some movies on a VCR that i want to move to my computer somehow. (for personal use) I have a video capture card and all hardware required. I'm looking for the software - programs, codecs etc. I like the format that most torrents come in and got some of these i'd like to use as reference for comparison. How can i see what codec, bitrate, etc a movie is using so i can pick this and know that it will work and look good. For AVI-files the bitrate is visible in explorer but it doesn't mention the codec used and i also have a lot of MKV-files that explorer can't handle. All kinds of tips, tricks and other suggestions are welcome. This is completely new to me. How do I avoid that video/audio gets out of sync for example, many movies you download have audio out of sync so i guess this can happen quite easily. The encoding-program has to run on windows and for playback the movies should work on at least VLC for windows.

  • Windows Media Center showing Jerky Video on PC

    I had to repave my Windows 7 x64 box last week due to a hard drive crash, and for a while everything was running perfectly but now all videos in Windows Media Center are jerky (the sound is fine, they just seem to skip a ton of frames all the time). This is on the local machine, but the same thing happens when I try to stream to my Xbox. The videos all show fine in VLC and Windows Media Player. I guess I must have installed something recently (in the process of getting all the apps I usually have running on my PC) that caused this but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I have updated to the latest video driver (and then rolled back to the standard Windows 7 driver), I have rolled back all the other drivers that I have installed (I believe). I have uninstalled all the codec packs (I also run TVersity, so I hate the TVersity codec pack installed), and I uninstalled TVersity. Nothing seems to help. I have uninstalled windows media center, and reinstalled it from the Programs and Features. I have basically ran out of things to try to fix this, and am almost thinking about reinstalling Windows again. Any suggestions?

  • DXVA and ATI.... what am I missing?

    ATI Radeon HD3650 ffdshow (the one comes with CCCP 2010-10 AND the latest from Free-codecs site) Catalyst 10.12 Latest DirectX, Windows 7 HP x64 If I try to play it simply, the player (mpc-hc) won't use the acceleration. If I disable checks, I get artifacts. Back then it worked perfectly with my Intel and ATI too (Lenovo ThinkPad T500, switchable graphics). This only appeared recently. What should I do? What am I missing? If possible, I don't really want to downgrade drivers (waaa ATI drivers s.ck ... sorry but.. honestly), because the older one got a buggy DP driver so my external display gets a totally wrong resolution.     I recently had a talk with some experienced people and they suggested to me not to use a WAMP stack, and instead install apache, mysql and php separately. I don't understand why they have suggested this, though, so can anyone tell me? Is there a particular disadvantage of WAMP, or a particular advantage to installing all of them separately? Since a WAMP stack itself is composed of apache, mysql and php, then what's the difference between using the WAMP stack and installing them all separately?

  • What benefit do I get from using a 64-bit server?

    I bought a small 256MB slice from slicehost and installed Ubuntu 10.04 64bit and wordpress on it. Performance was dismal as apache was eating up all my memory. Once I did some taming of apache and switched to fCGI things ran fine. Next I rebuilt as a 32 bit server, and performance was much better. What benefit would I get from a 64 bit server. Is it all about the memory?

    My server has recieved sudden increase in the (read) web traffic, requesting many map image tiles, and apache cannot handle it. Apache cannot even handle the redirections! The average load I get in my CentOS machine is more then 200.. Is there some software out there that can redirect SOME of the traffic, such as only the traffic from specific directory (such as http://example.com/maptiles/abc.png) to a different address (sucha as http://s3.amazonaws.com/mytiles/abc.png) ? can this be done by HAProxy?

    When I try to compile the tomcat connector from source, everything appears fine except that no mod_jk.so file gets created. Software versions: RHEL6 x86_64 httpd-2.4.3 tomcat-connector 1.2.37 Commands: cd native ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs make cd apache-2.0 ls The only warning message during the make is: Warning! dlname not found in /usr/local/tomcat-connectors-1.2.37-src/native/apache-2.0/mod_jk.la. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the mod_jk.so file to be generated?

    Is it possible to add wildcard serveralias (example: *.somesite.com) in an apache server without modifying httpd.conf manually? I use a DNS different from my hosting server and i have added asterisk A record to my DNS to point all request like (test.somesite.com,test2.somesite.com) to my hosting servers IP, but i don't see anyway of adding asterisk serveraliases to apache httpd.conf file in my cpanel.     Hi, I have an apache 2 web server working with a tomcat 6 servlet container running on ununtu 9.1, integrated via mod_proxy. I have the following time mismatch problem: When apache log to its access-log file, the date/time is correct. When a grails app running on tomcat inserts date-related information in the DB, the time is three hours ahead Any tips on how to fix tomcat's datetime problem ? Thanks

  • Convert MPG w/ AC3 audio to something else - on a Mac

    I'm helping with a small volunteer media team, and they have several .mpg videos that don't appear to have sound when played in QuickTime, iTunes, Real Player, etc, on the local Mac machine. I was able to hear audio after transferring one of the movies to a Windows machine that had VLC media player on it. Through VLC I was able to discover that the audio stream is a52 / AC3 format. We use Autodesk Cleaner in our normal workflow of converting the format of our videos to FLV, but for some reason it's unable to convert this particular batch of videos (well, the video converts fine, but with no audio). Obviously, it seems that there's a codec issue here, but I'm not sure how to correct it. (I'm not extremely familiar with Macs, and/or Autodesk Cleaner). I've seen the Perian codec pack, but I'm not sure that having the codecs on the system will enable Cleaner to convert these videos (particularly the audio stream, since the video converts fine). Is there something obvious that I'm overlooking, or will we have to use something else for this particular batch of videos? If so, what?

  • Recreate/Regenerate vhost config in cpanel for one account

    So my boss as allways was messing with cpanel on our production server (we only have production servers, which is bad enough)... so now all of the accounts is pointing to the default apache page in /usr/local/apache/htdocs instead of /home/useracc/public_html. Is there a way how to tell cpanel/WHM to recreate the vhost configuration of the account from scratch? the account has a database and emails associated with them so before i do anything i don't want to mess anything up with cpanel.
