• Install JBIComponent from adminCommandsService

  I'm trying to install a JBI component inside ServiceMix 4.3 from a Java class. This JBIComponent is packed as .jar. I wanted to know if the jbi.xml descriptor is mandatory in .jar package like in .zip. I searched a lot of info and I'm not quite sure but as it looks like for the java classes that install the component is necessary this descriptor but when my maven project creates two files, one .zip and one .jar. The zip one has a jbi.xml descriptor inside META-INF.   In Clojure, if I want to start a test cluster using the hbase testing utility, I have to annotate my dependencies with: [org.apache.hbase/hbase "0.92.2" :classifier "tests" :scope "test"] First of all, I have no idea what this means. According to leiningens sample project.clj ;; Dependencies are listed as [group-id/name version]; in addition ;; to keywords supported by Pomegranate, you can use :native-prefix ;; to specify a prefix. This prefix is used to extract natives in ;; jars that don't adhere to the default "<os>/<arch>/" layout that ;; Leiningen expects. Question 1: What does that mean? Question 2: If I upgrade the version: [org.apache.hbase/hbase "0.94.6.1" :classifier "tests" :scope "test"] Then I receive a ClassNotFoundException Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.hadoop.hbase.HBaseConfiguration Whats going on here and how do I fix it?

  My setting: Apache 2.2 + Tomcat 6.0 @ Windows 2008 R2 64bit static webpages: / servlet: /foo tomcat and apache are connected by mod_jk 404.jsp is placed in tomcat\webapps\ROOT tomcat\conf\web.xml: <error-page> <error-code>404</error-code> <location>/404.jsp</location> </error-page> apache\conf\extra\httpd-ssl.conf: JkMount /foo/* worker1 JkMount /404.jsp worker1 When I open https://...../404.jsp my custom error page is displayed. But when I open https://...../foo/nonexisting.html an empty page is displayed. If I remove the <error-page>...</error-page> code from web.xml and open https://...../foo/nonexisting.html then tomcats own 404 is displayed. Any hints?

• Tomcat not showing Spring Context initialization errors when running from Eclipse WTP

  Hi all, Im working with Eclipse Galileo (WTP), Spring 2.5.6-SEC01 and Apache Tomcat 5.5.28. When I run my application from Eclipse, I'm able to see Tomcat standard output and error from the console view. When there is a Spring initialization error (ex: malformed spring XML) I'm not able to see the error message or the stacktrace at the Console view. Anyone found before a problem like this? how you solve it? Thanks in advance, I'm getting mad :-) Edited: I'm seeing all Tomcat startup messages and my System.out.println and System.err.println messages in Eclipse Console. • Using svn with xampp for php projects

  I have heard a lot about version control and would like to work on it. I read some tutorials about the same. However i am not quite sure how svn works with xampp. I have installed svn, Tortoise svn and made the necessary changes in xampp. For instance i copied the two required modules to c:/xampp/apache/modules and also made changes to the conf file in apache. Here are the changes made in c:/xampp/apache/conf/httpd.conf. # Configure Subversion repository <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNPath “C:\svn” AuthType Basic AuthName “Subversion repository” AuthUserFile “c:\svn_conf\passwd” Require valid-user </Location>t I created the repository at c:/svn and also created the password file. However when i visit http:/localhost/svn i get a 404 page not found error. Where am i going wrong. what am i missing.? Any pointers?? Thanks in advance.

• Tomcat Clustering and HTTPS Issue

  Hi I have two instances of Tomcat 6 with content accessible via HTTP and HTTPS for other pages. I have configured the instances this way: 1) Instance one to listen on port 8080(Http) and 8443(Https) 2) Instance two to listen on port 7080(Http) and 7443(Https) I have mod_proxy configured with Apache 2.2 to do clustering. The requests are coming in properly and all works well for HTTP traffic but when you are in the app and it becomes HTTPS then i get the page cannot be found when tomcat tries to serve the page. Now if I access the two tomcat instances directly bypassing the load balancer then everything is fine. So http/https is configured properly on tomcat but not on Apache. I have a feeling i must configure Apache to handle this(or mod_proxy). Thanks,

• Graceful DOS Command Error-Handling w/PHP popen()

  PHP 5.2.13 on Windows 2003 I am using the DOS Start /B command to launch a background application using the PHP popen() function: popen("start /B {$_SERVER['HOMEPATH']}/{$app}.exe > {$_SERVER['HOMEPATH']}/bg_output.log 2>&1 & echo $!", 'r'); The popen() function launches a cmd.exe process that runs the specified command; however, if the command fails (e.g. the {$app}.exe doesn't exist or is locked in the above example), the cmd.exe process never returns, and PHP hangs indefinitely as a result. Calling the failing DOS command directly using the Command Prompt results in an Error prompt that requires clicking the OK button. I assume this error confirmation requirement is what's preventing the cmd.exe process from returning to PHP both from the Command Prompt (using both CGI and CLI) and the web (using Apache 2.0 handler w/Apache 2.2). Is there a way to configure PHP, Apache, and/or Win 2003 to return the DOS error to the originating call rather than waiting for confirmation?

  Using clojure, I've been able to successfully setup log4j very simply by using this log4j.properties file, and including log4j in my classpath. # BEGIN log4j.properties log4j.appender.STDOUT=org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender log4j.appender.STDOUT.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout log4j.appender.STDOUT.layout.ConversionPattern=%d{MMdd HHmmss SSS} %5p %c [%t] %m\n log4j.rootLogger=DEBUG, STDOUT Then after :use'ing clojure.contrib.logging, I'm able to print a statement with the desired formatting as expected like so: (info "About to print this") (debug "This is debug-level") My question is how to achieve a consistent formatting for logging statements made from loggers configured in other libraries. I thought I could find existing loggers using org.apache.log4j.LogManager.getCurrentLoggers() and change the PatternLayouts there, but I'm not able to iterate over that enumeration in clojure, as I get the following error: Dont know how to create ISeq from: java.util.Vector$1 I assume this is possible somehow, and probably very simply. • CakePHP 'Cake is NOT able to connect to the database'

  I've looked at this post about a similar issue: CakePHP: Can't access MySQL database and I've tried everything they mentioned in there including: Changing my database.php so that the 'port' attribute for both $default and $test are the location of my mysqld.sock file Changing the 'port' attribute to the actual integer that represents the port in my my.cnf mysql config Changing the mysql socket locations in php.ini to the location of my mysqld.sock file I'm using ubuntu 11.04, apache 2.2.17, mysql 5.1.54, and CakePHP 1.3.10. My install of mysql and apache don't seem to match any conventions, as in, all the config files are there, they are all just in really weird places--I'm not sure why that is, but I've tried reinstalling both programs multiple times with the same results... At any rate, I can log into mysql from the terminal and use it normally, and apache is working because I can see the CakePHP default homepage. I just can't get it to change the message 'Cake is NOT able to connect to the database'. SOLVED: Figured it out, had to change php.ini so that extension_dir pointed to the correct directory and had to add a line extension=mysql.so.

  I use a legacy library that writes logs using log4j. My default log4j.properties file directs the log to the console, but in some specific functions of my main program, I would like to disable logging altogether (from all classes). I tried this: Logger.getLogger(BasicImplementation.class.getName()).setLevel(Level.OFF); where "BasicImplementation" is one of the main classes that does logging, but it didn't work - the logs are still written to the console.   Hi, How do you stop a JSP from executing? • iPhone webapp: my ressources don't get cached

  Hello, First of all, I'd like to say I'm not using any off-line feature from HTML5. I have a web-application which runs on the iPhone. When viewing it from safari, everything works quite well. But when I launch the application from the home screen (to remove the navigation bar), it can be really slow. I checked the logs in Apache and it appears that Safari does a good work to cache the resources (css / js / images), with Apache answering "304 Not Modified" when needed. However, when the web app run as a "real" application (navigation bar hidden), those resources doesn't get cached and Apache the content has to be transferred over and over again (response code 200 Ok + content), resulting in a significantly slower page load. How can I prevent this behavior? Do I need to always run my webapp inside Safari, even when it's launched from the home screen? Thank you!

  I am trying to get SVN to copy files to my htdocs folder on commit. Here is what I have so far in my post-commit.bat: "C:\subversion\bin\svn.exe" update "C:\apache\apache2.2\htdocs" When I look at the log files created by the hook I get the following line: Skipped 'C:\Apache\Apache2.2\htdocs' Does anyone know why this is happening? No matter what directory I choose as a destination, I get the same error. I am running SVN 1.6.4, Tortoise 1.6.8, Apache 2.2, WinXP SP3 I am not using username and password because there is no security set up on the SVN repository. It's just me developing. Thanks

• Why do I have a page hit for 404.php after each legitimate pagehit?

  I'm working with an intranet system that, on each page, checks the user's cookie, verifies that they can see the current page based on database permissions, and records a page hit that includes their id and the page URL. I just noticed that in the pagehits table, I see an entry for 404.php (my custom 404 page specified in the Apache config) one second after each legitimate page hit. Is this probably my fault, or does it have something to do with how Apache decides to load the 404 page? I'm using Apache 2.2.14 (Win32) and PHP 5.3.2.

  Hi, I just installed my system with Oracle 64bit Linux5.4 running Apache Server version: Apache/2.2.3 and mod_perl 2. Now, I have my perl libraries set in a specific path: /my/perl/libs and I have adjusted my httpd.conf to compensate for this (I added the below): SetEnv MY_LIBS /my/perl/libs and in my cgi I'm setting my environment to compensate: use lib($ENV{'MY_LIBS'}); Now the problem: Sometimes my perl modules will recognize the path of /my/perl/libs and call all the functions appropriately, and sometimes they won't, thus thowing a 500 error. Some observations: when I restart apache (/etc/init.d/httpd restart), things work fine but then the 500 error comes up. Are there any ideas? What should I be looking at? Thanks

• Adding java source (.java files) to test jar in Maven

  Hi all, I'm making use of my pom.xml and am was able to generate the jar for src/main/java (say app.jar) as well as for src/test/java (say app-test.jar). I was also able to include my java sources as part of the app.jar (i.e. have both my .class as well as my .java files in the jar). However for my app-test.jar, i'm not able to include my .java files in it. • Jetty: Mount to a directory on a different host

  I'm looking to map to a directory on a different host using Jetty/Maven when working locally. I've found you can do this w/ Apache using mod_jk (JkMount/JkUnMount), but haven't figured it how to do the same on jetty. On our dev/q/live servers, we have Apache in front of JBoss and use mod_jk to do this. Locally, we're using jetty To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, this is how you would configure Apache to accomplish this: in httpd.conf: JkMount /images/* host2 JkMount /* host2 JkUnMount /images/* host1 workers.properties: worker.list=host2,host1 worker.host2.host=host-2.theDomain.com worker.host2.port=46654 worker.host1.host=host-1.theDomain.com worker.host1.port=46655 Is there a way to configure Jetty to do the same thing? Btw, locally, I'm using the Maven plugin for Eclipse if that makes a difference. thanks!

  i'm having some problems with tomcat 7 for configuring jdbc-pool : i`ve tried to follow this example: http://www.tomcatexpert.com/blog/2010/04/01/configuring-jdbc-pool-high-concurrency so i have: conf/server.xml <GlobalNamingResources> <Resource type="javax.sql.DataSource" name="jdbc/DB" factory="org.apache.tomcat.jdbc.pool.DataSourceFactory" driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mydb" username="user" password="password" /> </GlobalNamingResources> conf/context.xml <Context> <ResourceLink type="javax.sql.DataSource" name="jdbc/LocalDB" global="jdbc/DB" /> <Context> and when i try to do this: Context initContext = new InitialContext(); Context envContext = (Context)initContext.lookup("java:/comp/env"); DataSource datasource = (DataSource)envContext.lookup("jdbc/LocalDB"); Connection con = datasource.getConnection(); i keep getting this error: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Name jdbc is not bound in this Context at org.apache.naming.NamingContext.lookup(NamingContext.java:803) at org.apache.naming.NamingContext.lookup(NamingContext.java:159) pls help tnx
