    I am executing the following code that worked fine in a vs2003(1.1) but seems to have decided otherwise now that I'm using vs2008(2.0/3.5): Dim wordApp As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application Dim wordDoc As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Document missing = System.Reflection.Missing.Value wordApp = New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application() Dim wordfile As Object wordfile = "" ' path and file name goes here wordDoc = wordApp.Documents.Open(wordfile, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing) The error thrown when the Open is attempted is : "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." Does anyone have any idea how to correct this?

    I’m a fan of the new VS 2010 Web.config transformations. I use this feature for deployment purposes and wondered if it is possible to use them for debugging too. I think of using them in the IDE: I want to create different built configuration (with linked transformation configurations); choose one of them; start the web site in the IDE and debug the different configuration this way.

  • Dubugging a program not run within the debugger and without a crash

    I left a program running last night, it worked fine for about 5 hours and then one of its built-in self-diagnostic tests detected a problem and brought up a dialog box telling me the issue. The program was built with debug information (/Zi). Is it possible to somehow get the debugger started so I can examine the value of some variables within the program? Or is it too late?

    Using the client and server examples found here: http://www.winsocketdotnetworkprogramming.com/winsock2programming/winsock2advancedmailslot14.html Compiling them with VS2008, running the server and then "client Myslot" I keep getting "WriteFail failed with error 53." Anyone have any ideas? Links to other Mailslot examples are also welcome, thanks.

  • Changing the namespace for a Web Reference

    When I add a web reference to a project, it comes up with a default namespace of: com.wpdevs.myservice. This is the namespace I'd have expected it to use in the application. When I add the using statement to the project, I have to add: using MyProject.com.wpdevs.myservice; I'd like to find a way to eliminate having to reference the project name in the using statement. The project I'm putting together now is destined to be converted into a VS Project template and having that rather strange reference in there, or even having a per-project reference, isn't something I'd like to have in the project.

    I am developing a C# VS 2008 / SQL Server 2008 website. Although this same code compiles in the Project version, the website version does not compile. Many of their files are the same so I do not understand even where to look. The only compile error I get is: Could not load type 'DataMatch' in my DataMatch.aspx file. Is the problem in my web.config file? How do websites differ from projects in VS? All four of these files reside in same directory.     I am trying to configure a TFS Team Build 2010 to perform automatic deployment to development environment and creation of deployment packages for staging and production environment. In the field for MSBuildArguments in the build definition I have: /p:DeployOnBuild=True <br/> /p:DeployTarget=MsDeployPublish <br/> /p:MSDeployPublishMethod=RemoteAgent <br/> /p:CreatePackageOnPublish=True <br/> /p:DeployIISAppPath=devwebsitename<br/> /p:MsDeployServiceUrl=http://deployserver/MsDeployAgentService<br/> /p:UserName=username<br/> /p:Password=password<br/> Automatic deployment of dev web site is ok and I get a package for the web site generated How can I (the same build) get deploy packages for the other environments : Staging and Production?     I hope someone can help me. It's a pretty newbie question, I'm afraid. I have an image inside a repeater, and I would like to change its IMAGEURL based on parameter that's being passed to it. <asp:Repeater ID="Repeater" runat="server"> <HeaderTemplate> <asp:Image ID="imgType" runat="server" /> </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <%# Eval("DisplayName")%> </ItemTemplate> <SeparatorTemplate> <hr /> </SeparatorTemplate> </asp:Repeater> There is a SWITCH statement in the code behind that is altering the IMAGEURL depending on what's being passed to it. Inevitably, however, the images ID ("imgType") is not visible to the SWITCH statement (presumably because it's inside a REPEATER). Any suggestions on the best way to implement this would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for such a newbie question.

I saw many solution using a third party tool but i cant use those into mine..If anyone already worked on this please give me some direction.   • Question about the ITextUndoHistory that gets returned from TryGetHistory

    Everytime the IWpfTextView's TextBuffer changes I am trying to get the history's redostack and undostack and simply checking the count. When doing this I am encountering a "Method not supported exception" when trying to access the two stacks. Am I retrieving the history incorrectly or does VS not want me seeing/editing the contents of the stacks? I can post the code if necessary... Thanks, Nick

  • What is the best way to detect Copy (Ctrl+C) event in an IWpfTextView?

    I am trying to detect a copy event in the text view and I have been researching the best way to do this. Is it to possibly hook into the StandardCommand Copy event somehow and detect it that way? Or is it possible to use the KeyProcessor(and simply detect Ctrl+C keypresses)? My extension is currently implementing the IWpfTextViewCreationListener; is there a way to somehow get access to the KeyProcessor or StandardCommand from the IWpfTextView that the listener is passing to me? If so, can you post a code sample that demonstrates this? Thanks, Nick

  • Re-add missing project without having to re-add it to all projects referencing it

    Lets say you open a .NET solution (mine being VS 2010) after you just moved your entire folder to some new location locally. Now one of the projects that was being referenced in that solution is not there and so when you launch VS, it naturally tells you that the project is missing and therefore as always you see the project greyed out in Solution Explorer. Ok, well I can't go re-add that project (specify a different path for where that project lives) unless I remove the missing project reference and then try to re-add it back to the solution. But how can I reassociate a project without losing all references in other projects that were referencing that missing project? Is this possible? Otherwise every time I re-add that missing project, I end up having to go through about 8 projects of mine that are referencing it and re-reference it for each one of those projects which is tedious. I guess it makes sense since each project was referencing that missing project at that old path so it would break it there as well but is there an easier way to re-associate a project and references to that missing project without having to take 10 minutes every time to re-associate it all over the place if simply the path has changed?
