  • Can someone please debug this Windows Azure Application?

    Here's the myTODO project from codeplex: myTODO project I added any necessary libraries, added storage, changed obsolete types/methods, but everything went wrong when I debug it. Can anyone please debug this project for me, or suggest me someway to get it working. This request is urgent. Any helps are much appreciated.   • Unable to browse some pdfs and docs.

    I have a web site that uses Microsoft Indexing Service to index and query a directory that holds various documents of type pdf, rtf, mht, and doc. The indexing and querying works well (for the most part); however, some files will load while others will not. This is a Windows Server 2003 box running the site using IIS 6. The indexed directory is a sub directory off of the site's root directory (i.e. http://my.domain.com/files/). The file paths are accurate in the URL; however, I can only access some of the files of each file type. The files that I cannot access give a 404 File Not Found. I am able to open all files via windows explorer;however, attempting to open them via a browser over http is hit and miss. Has anyone experienced this issue and know how to resolve it? Anyone have any idea why I could access some files but not others? Does anyone have any recommendations on what to look into to try this (i.e. does owner matter or something like that?)?   • Cannot run unit tests for an application developed with Compact Framework for Windows CE 6.0 platfor

    I'm developing a solution for Windows CE 6.0 using GuD_AtomKit X86 Device emulator. I'm not able to run any unit tests, because I get following error message: The test adapter ('Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.TestTypes.Unit.UnitTestAdapter, Microsoft.VisualStudio.QualityTools.Tips.UnitTest.Adapter, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a') required to execute this test could not be loaded. Check that the test adapter is installed properly. Exception of type 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.SmartDevice.TestHostAdapter.DeviceAgent.TestAlreadyRunningException' was thrown. But there's no unit test running on the device. I would really appreciate your help.

    We're evaluating Babel 0.9.5 [1] under Windows for use with Python 2.6 and have the following questions that we we've been unable to answer through reading the documentation or googling. 1) I would like to use an _ like abbreviation for ungettext. Is there a concencus on whether one should use n_ or N_ for this? n_ does not appear to work. Babel does not extract text. N_ appears to partially work. Babel extracts text like it does for gettext, but does not format for ngettext (missing plural argument and msgstr[ n ].) 2) Is there a way to set the initial msgstr fields like the following when creating a POT file? I suspect there may be a way to do this via Babel cfg files, but I've been unable to find documentation on the Babel cfg file format. "Project-Id-Version: PROJECT VERSION\n" "Language-Team: en_US \n" 3) Is there a way to preserve 'obsolete' msgid/msgstr's in our PO files?     We have a need to monitor performance of our java web app. We are looking for some tolls which can help us with this task. The major difficulty is that we are SaaS provider with multi-tenant server architecture with hundreds of customers running on the same hardware. So far we tried commercial products like DynaTrace and Coradinat but unfortunately they don't get the job done so far. What we need is a simple report which would tell us if we had performance problems on each customer site in a specified period of time. Mostly it will be response time per customer but also we will need some more specifics based on the URLs. please let me know if someone had any experience with setting up such monitoring. Thanks!

But for a new requirement i need to query a external oracle database( used by other component) and compile a list of items and display in a page in the website. How is it possible to connect to a external database just for rendering a single page. And is it possible to cache the queried result for say 1 month before invalidating the cache and get the updated list of items. i dont want query the external oracle db for each request.

    I want to build a page for end users to visit (in our MPLS Network) and it show the following information in regards to them: Computer Name OS Disk Space Memory IP Address Active Directory User Name Password Expiration Time (As defined by Global Policy) Maybe a few other things such as Trend Micro Office current version vs. their version, # of MS Updates needed (we utilize WSUS), and a few other things in the future. My question is how would I pull this information from the user when they visit the page? What is the proper function for this? Anyone have examples they wish to share for me to learn by if possible?     Hello, This question has been asked multiple times I know. From what I understand, broadly speaking, if I include a GPL module in my app, I have to also release my app's source code for free. Now if the module is a java app (which I have modified) and included in my own java app, and say I use it as an applet on my website, do I need to distribute the source code to all the users visiting the website? Can I distribute the code only to people who ask for it? If I sell my applet, do I need to distribute the source code to all the users or ONLY to the users who purchase my applet?   • APplication performance issue : SqlServer & Oracle

    Hi, We have a applicaiton in Silverlight,WCF, NHibernate. Currently it is supporting SQL Serve and Oracle database. As it's huge data, it is running ok on SQL Sevrer. But on Oracle it is running very slow. For one functionality it takes 5 Sec to execute on SQL Server and 30 Sec on Oracle. I am not able to figure out what will be issue. Two things that i want to share with you about our database. 1) Database: contains one base table contains column of type SQLServer: [Text] Oracle: [NCLOB] 2) Our database structure is too much normalized. May be in the oracle i have used NCLOB, that is the cause of the performance. I mean i don't know the details about it.... Can anyone please let me know what will be cause? Or Which actions do i need to follw to improve the performance as equal as SqlServer.? Thanks in advance. Mahesh.

    I'm about to create a user based website and will have to store photo, docs and other data for each user. If I take a silly number like 1 000 000 000 users, I believe than one folder with 1 000 000 000 won't be the fastest thing in the world! So I was thinking of creating something like 1st level : [a-z] 2nd level : [a-z] 3rd level : [a-z] Therefor bobby will be in /b/o/b/by But this also mean that it won't be spread equaly, because there will be very few user starting with a z and many more with a m,s,l ... so I was thinking of using a user id such as "000000000001", "000000000001" etc... 1st level : [000-999] 2nd level : [000-999] 3rd level : [000-999] therefore data of the user 000000000001 will be store in /data/000/000/000/001 then I will be sure to have a maximum of 1000 folder in each level. What do you guys think about it, what I should do or not do ? The server will be running Centos 5.4 with EXT3 on raid 1, if the I/O get's too bad i will probably go for a raid 10.

When my app started it is showing 1 thread in Activity Monitor, but when i started the processStart() in background thread its creating two new thread,which makes the total 3 thread until or unless loop get finished.After completing the loop i can see 2 threads. So, my understanding is that, 2 thread created when i called performSelectorInBackground, but what about the thrid thread, from where it got created? What if thread counts get increases on every call of selector.How to control that or my implementation is bad for such kind of requirements? Thanks
