  • Unable to resolve class org.codehaus.groovy.grails.plugins.springsecurity.Secured

    Hi, I'm new to Grails and I'm seeing the error "Groovy:unable to resolve class org.codehaus.groovy.grails.plugins.springsecurity.Secured" when I open a Grails app in SpringSource Tool Suite (STS) and build the project. However the application does run when I issue the run-app command and I can login. Also when I look in my .grails folder I can see that 'grails-acegi-0.5.2.zip' has been downloaded. When I issues the upgrade command from the grails command prompt I get a message telling me that all dependancies have been resolved. Thanks for any help.

  • What are some good/reputable/widely-used libraries written in VB.NET?

    Generally speaking, when VB.NET and C# are compared, there is a lot of strong support for C#, accompanied by some bashing of VB.NET until a respected developer comes along and acts as The Voice Of Reason, pointing out that while VB prior to VB.NET had its fair share of issues, VB.NET is really a very strong, fully OOP language that is, feature-wise, right about on par with C# (with the exception of certain things like a full-bodied lamba syntax [pre-VB10] or the yield keyword, as many C# faithfuls are quick to point out). I myself, having written plenty of code in both VB.NET and C#, fall squarely in the "I prefer C#, but don't consider VB.NET any less of a language" camp. However, one thing I have noticed is that when it comes to respected and/or widely-used libraries for .NET, everyting is written in C#. Or at least that's been my impression. This strikes me as a little strange because, aside from the abovementioned sprinkling of nice features (in particular the yield keyword), I tend to view the VB.NET/C# divide as primarily a matter of personal taste. Obviously, plenty of developers prefer C#. But I personally know some developers (good ones) who prefer VB.NET, which would lead me to suspect that surely some libraries (good ones) would be written in VB.NET. They must be out there, and I just haven't found them. What are some good libraries that've been written in VB.NET? The best would be open source, as that would allow interested developers to take a look at some good VB.NET code and see how effective the language can be when used properly. But I'd be interested to know about any libraries at all, particularly reputable ones.

  • Integrating POP3 client functionality into a C# application?

    I have a web application that requires a server based component to periodically access POP3 email boxes and retrieve emails. The service then needs to process the emails which will involve: Validating the email against some business rules (does it contain a valid reference in the subject line, which user sent the mail, etc.) Analysing and saving any attachments to disk Take the email body and attachment details and create a new item in the database Or update an existing item where the reference matches the incoming email subject line What is the best way to approach this? I really don't want to have to write a POP3 client from scratch, but I need to be able to customize the processing of emails. Ideally I would be able to plug in some component that does the access and retrieval for me, returning arrays of attachments, body text, subject line, etc. ready for my processing... [ UPDATE: Reviews ] OK, so I have spent a fair amount of time looking into (mainly free) .NET POP3 libraries so I thought I'd provide a short review of some of those mentioned below and a few others: Pop3.net - free - works OK, very basic in terms of functionality provided. This is pretty much just the POP3 commands and some base64 encoding, but it's very straight forward - probably a good introduction Pop3 Wizard - commercial / some open source code - couldn't get this to build, missing DLLs, I wouldn't bother with this C#Mail - free - works well, comes with Mime parser and SMTP client, however the comments are in Japanese (not a big deal) and it didn't work with SSL 'out of the box' - I had to change the SslStream constructor after which it worked no problem OpenPOP - free - hasn't been updated for about 5 years so it's current state is .NET 1.0, doesn't support SSL but that was no problem to resolve - I just replaced the existing stream with an SslStream and it worked. Comes with Mime parser. Of the free libraries, I'd go for C#Mail or OpenPOP. I looked at a few commercial libraries: Chillkat, Rebex, RemObjects, JMail.net. Based on features, price and impression of the company I would probably go for Rebex and may in the future if my requirements change or I run into production issues with either of C#Mail or OpenPOP.     Hello. I have a problem with a C# ASP .NET project in Visual Studio 2008 This problem started when I reinstalled my computer with Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. To this I'm also using Office 2007.   • Running JUnit test classes from another JUnit test class

    I have two classes that I am testing (let's call them ClassA and ClassB). Each has its own JUnit test class (testClassA and testClassB respectively). ClassA relies on ClassB for its normal functioning, so I want to make sure ClassB passes its tests before running testClassA (otherwise the results from testClassA would be meaningless). What is the best way to do this? In this case it is for an assignment so I need to keep it to the two specified test classes if possible. Can/should I throw an exception from testClassA if testClassB's tests aren't all passed? This would require testClassB to run invisibly and just report its success/failure to testClassA, rather than to the GUI (via JUnit). I am using Eclipse and JUnit 4.8.1

  • ASP.NET MVC Class level custom data-annotation and ModelState keys

    Hi, I have custom class level validation attribute, inheriting from ValidationAttribute, on my model. How come it doesn't register a key in the ModelState when its IsValid is false? I can see the the error message in the ModelState.Values collection, but the ModelState.Keys collection only shows an empty string "". Can I provide a key for it - presumably this is because its not assigned to a property? I wanna be able to use ModelState.Remove in my controller to remove this error upon a certain condition, but I have no Key! Any ideas?

    my solution has multiple projects and in one of them I have the code to get the embedded resource (an xml file) from another project. All this works fine when all the projects are seperate. However when all the class libraries are embedded into a single dll, the code to get the resource file does not work i.e. it cannot get the emebedded resource. I was wondering if the references to the emebedded resource get mixed up when they are combined together in a single dll?? I use the method Assembly.GetCallingAssembly().GetManifestResourceStream("namespace..filename");

  • How to add a Fragment inside a ViewPager using Nested Fragment (Android 4.2)

    I have a ViewPager with three Fragments, each one shows a List (or Grid). In the new Android API level 17 (Jelly Bean 4.2), one of the features is Nested Fragments. The new functionality description says: if you use ViewPager to create fragments that swipe left and right and consume a majority of the screen space, you can now insert fragments into each fragment page. So, if I understand right, now I can create a ViewPager with Fragments (with a button inside for example) inside, and when user press the button show another Fragment without loose the ViewPager using this new feature. I expend my morning trying to implement this on several ways but I can´t made it... Can somebody show a simple example of how to do this? PS: I'm only interested in doing at this way, with getChildFragmentManager to learn how works.

    Hello! I found a source code on MSDN about how to enable/disable privileges in C++ According to the source code, the linker must include cmcfg32.lib, but it can't be found... I tried to compile without including that lib, it compiles without any error, but when I launch my program, it crashes with a fatal error.     I have an application using the SentientUser gem to provide the current user to my models. On top of that I'm using default scoping to ensure that a user can only ever access data that they own. So a typical model for me looks something like this: class Location < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :name, :time_zone, :address belongs_to :account belongs_to :address accepts_nested_attributes_for :address default_scope :conditions => { :account_id => User.current.account } end When I run rake cucumber I get an error on the default_scope line about account being nil. My guess is that when the cucumber rake task is run it doesn't have access to the correct application controller to inject the current_user method and thus SentientUser can't get the current user?   • AS3 - Loader class: Resize external swf to it's original stage size

    Hi there! Here is my problem (unfortunatelly didn't find solution @google): I'm loading external swf[AS2] into main swf[AS3] using Loader class. The main swf is 800 x 600 and the external swf is 300 x 200. After adding the external swf to the main swf the external swf expands it's size from 300 x 200 to the main swf's size: 800 x 600. How can i prevent this? I want the loaded swf to save it's original size. Cheers Rob
