  our client needs to shortcuts to particular pages We need to redirect non existent urls like http://site.com/promotion1 to the actual URL similar to http://site.com/promotions/promotion1/tabid/799/language/en-AU/Default.aspx ... I've sent a list of appropriate DNN modules to our client but it may take them forever to get back to me. In the mean time they still submitting requests to us to create redirects for them. if there's no cost involved then i wont have to wait for them to get back to me. so I'm looking for a Quick and free way to enable the clients to set these up on this own. • newbie: how to upload images from a form with PHP and mySQL

  I'm creating a web app (locally, so security doesn't matter) in PHP where the user uploads a set of information and a small .jpeg, which is then inserted into a mySQL table. I can do this no problem with all the text data, but I'm not sure how to cause the image to upload alongside it. I assume I will have to use the blob data type and input type="file", but I fooled around with that a little bit and the solution doesn't seem to be an intuitive extension of how input type="text" works. Do I need to do a lot more PHP scripting to get this to work? Is it possible to upload an image with a form, or is there a necessary intermediate step?

• Why does xdebug crash apache on every XAMPP install I've tried?

  I've installed the Windows XAMPP package on three separate computers, 2 running Windows Vista 32 bit ( 1 Ultimate / 1 Home Premium ) and 1 running Windows Vista 64 Home Premium. After enabling xdebug in php.ini and restarting apache, viewing the default XAMPP localhost index causes apache to crash in the same way every time, reporting 'php_xdebug.dll' as the Fault Module Name. • extract payload from tcpflow output

  Tcpflow outputs a bunch of files, many of which are HTTP responses from a web server. Inside, they contain HTTP headers, including Content-type: , and other important ones. I'm trying to write a script that can extract just the payload data (i.e. image/jpeg; text/html; et al.) and save it to a file [optional: with an appropriate name and file extension]. The EOL chars are \r\n (CRLF) and so this makes it difficult to use in GNU distros (in my experiences). I've been trying something along the lines of: sed /HTTP/,/^$/d To delete all text from the the beginning of HTTP (incl) to the end of \r\n\r\n (incl) but I have found no luck. I'm looking for help from anyone with good experience in sed and/or awk. • Skip sanitization for videos in html5lib

  I am using a wmd-editor in django, much like this one in which I am typing. I would like to allow the users to embed videos in it. For that I am using the Markdown video extension here. The problem is that I am also sanitizing user input using html5lib sanitization and it doesn't allow object tags which are required to embed the videos. One solution could be to check the input for urls of well-known video sites and skip the sanitization in those cases. Is there a better solution?

• Automation of testing using JUnit

  Hi, i am trying to automate manual testing of modules in my project. We are dealing with IBM Websphere Message queue software. We have a trigger component written in core java which when executed polls for availability of message in the configured queue. Its an indefinite while loop that keeps the trigger component running. I have written test cases in JUnit to put message in the queue and now will i be able to start/stop the trigger component on demand? Invoking the trigger component keeps it running and i am not getting the control back to check the expected output. If i start it in thread then the log files to which the trigger component is supposed to update when processing the message is not getting updated. How can i resolve this situation. Your suggestion and directions is highly appreciated. Thanks, -Vijay

  What is the recommended way of having several cabal packages in one directory? Why: I have an old project with many separable modules. Since originally they formed just one program it was, and still is, handy to have them in same directory for easy compiling. Options Just suffer and split everything, including VCS holding the stuff, into different directories? Hack cabal until it is happy with multiple .cabal files in same directory? Make another subdirectory for each module and put .cabal files there along with symlinks to original pieces of code? Something smarter? What?

• Language of variable names? (native foreign language speakers)

  We are a spanish speaking development team, we code in django and we all are pretty fluent in english, as all documentation, sample code, APIs, etc come in english. On our last project we chose to name all the variables, class names, modules, files and such in english, even though the whole application was in spanish, we kept a strings file where all our spanish was stored. We did this because it seemed more natural to read the whole code in one language, since keywords, constructs and dependencies have names in english. On new projects we are starting, we are having second thoughts about other teams mantaining our code or just having 3rd parties having to deal with templates or context in spanish. Do you know of any best practice on this matter?

  Hello I have test's using unittest. I have a test suite and I am trying to pass variables through into each of the tests. The below code shows the test suite used. class suite(): def suite(self): #Function stores all the modules to be tested modules_to_test = ('testmodule1', 'testmodule2') alltests = unittest.TestSuite() for module in map(__import__, modules_to_test): alltests.addTest(unittest.findTestCases(module)) return alltests It calls tests, I would like to know how to pass variables into the tests from this class. An example test script is below: class TestThis(unittest.TestCase): def runTest(self): assertEqual('1', '1') class TestThisTestSuite(unittest.TestSuite): # Tests to be tested by test suite def makeTestThisTestSuite(): suite = unittest.TestSuite() suite.addTest("TestThis") return suite def suite(): return unittest.makeSuite(TestThis) if __name__ == '__main__': unittest.main() So from the class suite() I would like to enter in a value to change the value that is in assert value. Eg. assertEqual(self.value, '1'). I have tried sys.argv for unittest and it doesn't seem to work. Thanks for any help.

• Need strategy to phone home to a Pyton web app and check licensing information for a commercial Wind

  What's a good strategy for building licensing checking into a Windows desktop app using a Python web application? This is a very open ended question because I don't have the slightest clue how to start to build this feature. What I do have is a number of general concerns: I have developed a commercial Windows desktop application and I want to make money from it but I don't want to build the licensing into the app since it's inevitable that someone will create a keygen or a crack, circulate it online and then it's 'game over' for me. So my idea was to create a web application where people could purchase a license key that is generated by the web app and every time the desktop application is started up, it will 'phone home' to the web app to check whether the license is valid and whether it seems to be in use at multiple locations. I'm just not sure how to do this. Would appreciate any general technical strategies and/or pointers to libraries/modules that might be of use.

• Best way to change Satchmo checkout page fields?

  For a Satchmo project we have to change the fields a customer has to fill out during checkout. Specifically, we have to: Add a 'middle name' field Replace the bill and delivery addressee with separate first, middle and last name fields Replace the two address lines with street, number and number extension These fields are expected by an upstream web service, so we need to store this data separately. What's the best way to achieve this with minimal changes in the rest of Satchmo? We prefer a solution in which we do not have to change the Satchmo code itself, but if required we can fork it.

  The manual on Zend_Application_Module_Autoloader states the following: When using module bootstraps with Zend_Application, an instance of Zend_Application_Module_Autoloader will be created by default for each discrete module, allowing you to autoload module resources. Source: http://framework.zend.com/manual/zh/zend.loader.autoloader-resource.html#zend.loader.autoloader-resource.module This requires me to create an empty bootstrap class for each of my modules or else resource autoloading per module won't work with the build-in autoloader. Now I have two questions What is a discrete module? Is there a way to have this resource autoloader registered by default for each module without the need to create a bootstrap file for each module? I want it available in each module and creating so many empty bootstrap classes is something i'd rather prevent.

• DBD::Advantage and 64-bit Perl - Always 6060

  I realize that I am attempting to go beyond the "supported" behavior of the manf's released drivers for perl, after all they have only released it in package with x86 .so's. However, since I cannot use their package with x64 Perl on a RHEL 5.4 x86_64 box, and maintaining a seperate install of x86 perl just for this one package, I have made an attempt to get this puppy working thanks to released 64-bit .so's that accompany other driver packages for Advantage. What I have done to this point: download beta 10 DBI drivers, in 32 download beta 10 PHP extension (it contains 32 and x86_64) copy the required DLLs into the ads-lib location (eg /usr/local/ads/lib64) compile the Perl DBI driver with the path to the lib64's .so's Good compilation, good install, good use. The problem is that I always get : failed: [iAnywhere Solutions][Advantage SQL][ASA] Error 6060: Advantage Database Server not available on specified server. axServerConnect (SQL-HY000)(DBD: db_login/SQLConnect err=-1) Does anyone have any ideas? • Compile error when trying to _debug_ a Visual Stuio integration project

  I'm currently working on a Visual Studio integration project for VS2010 (a custom highlighter) I'm using Irony and the LanguageServiceTemplate from this Code project article. However that template is build for 2008 and the changes made in VS2010 when it comes to integrating breaks the template. When I try to compile I get the following error: Source.extension.vsixmanifest file not found in project. If a file with this name is present in the project, make sure the build action is set to "None". Any ides of what I can do to fix it?

  I am trying to get the page or last directory name from a url for example if the url is: http://www.example.com/dir/ i want it to return dir or if the passed url is http://www.example.com/page.php I want it to return page Notice I do not want the trailing slash or file extension. I tried this: $regex = "/.*\.(com|gov|org|net|mil|edu)/([a-z_\-]+).*/i"; $name = strtolower(preg_replace($regex,"$2",$url)); I ran this regex in PHP and it returned nothing. (however I tested the same regex in ActionScript and it worked!) So what am I doing wrong here, how do I get what I want? Thanks!!!

• How can I put my own text hover into default Eclipse editor?

  I need to put some extra information into to the standard "javadoc" hover, that shows up when you go with mouse over some token. Or I need to create a new hover showing that information while pressing some key (like alt) and then hovering (I can see that this is done e.g. with the shift key, which enables us to see the hover with sourcecode, instead of javadoc). So far I found documentation on how to create hover in your own editors, but I need to extend the default java editor. Basically I am interested in showing some e-mail information related to the classname (token) over which user is hovering. Is there any extension point that could be used for this? • How do I fix the python installer's 'missing dependencies' error?

  Background: running ubuntu So I downloaded the python "install from source" tarball. I ran make and got this error message: Python build finished, but the necessary bits to build these modules were not found: _aaa _bbb _ccc ... _jjj _kkk I google'd and found one solution is to: MANUALLY map all the string names from the error message to something in the apt-get repo MANUALLY call "sudo apt-get AAA BBB ... JJJ KKK" to get all the libraries I can easily do all of that. But I have no way of knowing what is the right version libraries I need to get! How in the world am I supposed to fix the missing dependencies if I don't know what the exact missing dependency is?

• In CAB is a service it's own module?

  I'm learning Composite Application Block and I've hit a rock about services. I have my shell application in its own solution, and of course a test module in its own solution (developed and testing completely independent and external of the shell solution). If I created a service named "Sql Service", would I need to put this in it's own library, so that both the shell, and the module know the types? If that's the case, then for good practice, should I put the service project in the shell solution, or external just like a module (in it's own solution), even though it's not loaded as a module? Then, what about references? Should the shell reference this directly, add then add the service? Or load it as a module and add the service? I have a lot of confusion on where I should create my services, and if I should reference or load as modules..

Lets say that i downloaded hypothetical package called FooFoo-BarBar-BazBaz.tar.gz, and it has the following modules: FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz::Bill FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz::Bob FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz::Ben FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz::Bozo FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz::Brown FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz::Berkly FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz::Berkly::First FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz::Berkly::Second Is there a module or technique I can use that's similar to the C++ 'using' statement, i.e., is there a way I can do using FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz; which would then let me do my $obj = Brown->new(); ok $obj->isa('FooFoo::BarBar::BazBaz::Brown') ; # true # or... ok $obj->isa('Brown'); # also true
