• Awstats showing 404s for pages and objects I definitely don't have...

  I have a HostGator site using Awstats and I've recently noticed the following 3 bizarre 404s: [address] [times] /images/wikimedia-button.png 1 /apple-touch-icon.png 1 /imgs/custom-space.gif 1 the first and third also carry referrers from within my site, but are 100% definitely absolutely not linked by any of my pages. I'm not too worried about it, seeing as each one has only popped up once. But I am concerned about why Awstats thinks one of my pages is referring what is apparently a wikipedia image, and why Steve Jobs is trying to haxx0r me (/joke) This is my first site to receive moderate daily usage, so I'm curious if these sorts of unique weird-o 404s just come with the territory, or if I should be double-checking something... • jQuery datepicker getMinDate '+1d'

  Once I have set the minDate property of a datepicker with the convenient string syntax $(elem).datepicker('option','minDate','+1d +3m'); how can I get the date object of the minDate? To help illustrate, there is a method $(elem).datepicker('getDate'); which returns the date that is entered in the input in the format of a date object. I would like the same thing but for datepicker('getMinDate'). There is an option like this $(elem).datepicker('option','minDate'); but this returns '+1d +3m' which is not helpful. I need the actual date object to compare with another date object. Any ideas?

• How do I implement a dispatch table in a Perl OO module?

  I want to put some subs that are within an OO package into an array - also within the package - to use as a dispatch table. Something like this package Blah::Blah; use fields 'tests'; sub new { my($class )= @_; my $self = fields::new($class); $self->{'tests'} = [ $self->_sub1 ,$self->_sub2 ]; return $self; } _sub1 { ... }; _sub2 { ... }; I'm not entirely sure on the syntax for this? $self->{'tests'} = [ $self->_sub1 ,$self->_sub2 ]; or $self->{'tests'} = [ \&{$self->_sub1} ,\&{$self->_sub2} ]; or $self->{'tests'} = [ \&{_sub1} ,\&{_sub2} ]; I don't seem to be able to get this to work within an OO package, whereas it's quite straightforward in a procedural fashion, and I haven't found any examples for OO. • PHP DateTime Regex

  Hey, long story short I have inherited some terrible code. As a result a string comparison is buggy when comparing dates due to the format of the date. I am trying to convert the date to a valid DateFormat syntax so I can run a proper comparison. These are some samples of the current format: 12/01/10 at 8:00PM 12/31/10 at 12:00PM 12/10/09 at 5:00AM and so forth. I'd like to convert this to a YYYYMMDDHHMM format i.e 201012012000 for comparison purposes. If anyone can give me a quick regex snippet to do this that'd be appreciated as right now i'm hitting a brick wall for a regex. I can do it by exploding the string over several times etc but I'd rather do it in a more efficient manner. Thanks!

• Storing file permissions in Subversion repository

  How do you store file permissions in a repository? A few files need to be read-only to stop a third party program from trashing it but after checking out of the repository they are set to read-write. I looked on google and found a blog post from 2005 that states that Subversion doesn't store file-permissions. There are patches and hook-scripts listed (only one url still exists). Three years later does Subversion still not store file permissions and are hooks the only way to go about this? (I've never done hooks and rather use something that is native to Subversion.)

• PHP: Why Cookies only sent to http://www.xxx.com and NOT http://xxx.com

  Hi, I have a php login which sets 2 cookies once some one login. the problem is that if you login from : http://www.mydomain.com and you go to http://mydomain.com you will find your self not logged in, I think that's because the browser only send the cookies to the first syntax. It's only one domain, the difference is the www. before the domain name, so how to set cookies to the whole domain whatever there is www. or not ? <?php setcookie('username',$username,time()+3600); ?> Thanks

• Winrar sfx deletes files too early

  I'm trying to build a sfx (self extracting archive) using winrar. I'm using VS2008 to build a setup.exe and a myapp.msi. If setup.exe is executed it does some checking an launches myapp.msi I'm using some sfx options to make the extraction quiet and make it extract so some temp folder: ;Der folgende Kommentar enthält SFX-Skriptbefehle Setup=setup.exe TempMode Silent=2 Overwrite=1 It seems winrar deletes the msi right after setup.exe is launched. Setup.exe can't find the msi and crashes. Is there some way to fix this?

• PHP eval issue with PHP + HTML code

  Hi, I've got PHP and HTML code stored in a database table. When I get this data, I need to echo the HTML and process the PHP. I thought I could use eval() for this, which works, if I do this eval("echo 'dlsj'; ? EVALED "); I get dlsjEVALED printed out. The problem is, I get a fatal error when I run longer scripts. • iPhone application-Memory handling issues

  Hi All, I am having some memory management issues in my app. Maybe someone may help me out here. 1) While checking for leaks in intruments, when I deploy and run the app on device, the virtual memory utilized, starts from 50 MB(even though i've just launched the app and am on the first screen). My resources contribute to 2.6 MB of it and I don't know what is contributing for the rest. What is the ideal utilization of virtual memory for an app? 2) In certain screen of the app, user is allowed to click a picture from the camera. In Instruments, I observe that virtual memory utilization jumps around 20MB, on the invocation of camera. Is it normal and can it be decreased? Looking forward to hear a reply soon.   I'm trying to install my iphone app on my device for testing and whenever I try to build it I get: The executable was signed with invalid entitlements The entitlements specificed in your application's Code Signing Entitlements do not match those specified in your provisioning profile. Now I've tried adding an Entitlements.plist file and both checking and unchecking get-task-allow. I've added the file name under Code Signing Entitlements under the project and then under the target, both, neither, etc. I've deleted and re-created every app id, provisioning profile, and certificate. Those all seem valid. This is not an ad-hoc distribution (it's development) and it's not a jailbroken phone. I don't even understand where in the provisioning profile any Code Signing Entitlements are specified..?

For instance, on my local development machine there is no proxy. But in QA and Production the proxies are there and sometimes they provide more than one address. I don't need to know the groovy syntax. Just which methods get me the equivalent of the three different ways I ask for the ip above.

  Just wondering if anyone has had any experience using Entity Framework 4's POCO support and how it stands up compared to NHibernate. If they're the same, I'd be very interested in making Entity Framework 4 my ORM of choice if only because it would: Support both data first AND object first development Have a robust LINQ provider Be easier to pitch to clients (since it's developed by Microsoft) Come baked into the .NET framework rather than requiring 8 dlls to get up and running In other words, are there any major shortcomings to EF4? Does it support all of the basic functionality NHibernate supports (lazy-loading, eager-loading, 1st level caching, etc.) or is it still rough around the edges? Is the syntax for setting up the mappings as easy as NHibernate and/or Fluent NHibernate? Edit: Please don't bring up the vote of no confidence. That was ages ago and dealt with some serious shortcomings of EF1 that really don't seem to apply anymore to EF4.

  I've developed a website in html/css and it works perfectly fine. Now I'm working with the coder, integrating this to a .NET framework, changing the website to .apsx instead of html, but during the build of the website, the only error that is marked is the load of Cufon , it simply can't load and the structure and syntax of all the commands are the same I used with the html site that actually works.   I am an experienced .Net programer, but have not compiled a C/C++ program in my life. Now I have this C-dll, headers and documentation (3rd party, not from Win API), from which I need to call about ten methods. I was thinking of using Platform Invoke. I found these three tools that would create the code for me: PInvoker: http://www.pinvoker.com P/Invoke Interop Assistant: http://www.codeplex.com/clrinterop P/Invoke Wizard: http://www.paulyao.com/res/pinvoke/pinvoke.aspx and possibly Swig: http://www.swig.org/ Pinvoker seems to have a bit different approach than the Interop assistant and the Wizard. Swig I just found when checking that this question has not been asked here. What are the pros and cons of these tools? What would be the best = easiest and safest way for me to produce the P/Invoke code given that I don't know much about C/C++?

• PGP Command Line Decryption --- How to decrypt file?

  I was sent a public key in order to decrypt a pgp-encrypted file. I imported the key with: gpg --import publickey.asc And verified it with gpg --list-keys Now, I'm trying to decrypt the file. I put the passphrase in a file called pass.txt and ran this at the command line: gpg --passphrase-fd ../../pass.txt --decrypt encryptedfile.txt.pgp --output encryptedfile.txt All it says is: Reading passphrase from file descriptor 0 ... And doesn't seem to be doing anything else. I can't tell if it's hanging or not. Is it a relatively quick process? The file is large ( about 2 GB ). Is the syntax for it correct?

Can be used outside of servlets (unlike JSP) Is flexible wrt. to where the templates are stored (JSP and a lot of people require the templates to be stored in the FS). It should provide a template loading interface which one can implement or something like that Easy inclusion of parameterized templates- I really like JSP's tag fragments Good docs, nice code, etc., the usual suspects I've looked at JSP- it's nearly perfect except for the servlet and filesystem coupling, Stringtemplate- I love the template syntax, but it fails on the filesystem coupling, the documentation is lacking and template groups and stuff are confusing, GXP, TAL, etc. Ideas, thoughts?
