• Authentication Error 401.2

  I have an application buit partially in classic asp and in c#. The authentication used as per the config file is windows. This is perfectly working. Now I have to authenticate the users against active directory. (ie. if any AD users requesting my application, it should authenticate the user (on login page load) and redirect to the application home page instead of showing login page) The login page is an asp page and I created an aspx page where the login.asp page will be redirected during page load to autheticate with Active Directory. I hav e disabled anonymous access in IIS and currently used only Integrated Windows Authentication. Also given permission to "Authenticated Users" in Permissions. While trying to access the login.asp page I am getting the following error. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied because your Web browser is sending a WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web server is not configured to accept. Please try the following: Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able to view this directory or page. Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials. HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to server configuration. Internet Information Services (IIS) Kindly help me to fix this issue. Thanks, Priya

• iPhone SDK: loading UITableView from SQLite

  Hi, I think I got a good handle on UITableViews and on getting/inserting data from/to SQLite db. I am straggling with an architectural question. My application saves 3 values int the database, there can be many/many rows. However would I load them in the table? From all the tutorials I have seen, at one point entire database is loaded in the NSMutableArray or similar object via performing SELECT statement. Then when -(UITableViewCell *) tableView: (UITableView *) tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath: (NSIndexPath *) indexPath called, rows required are dolled out from the previous loaded NSMutableArray (or similar stracture). But what i have have thousands for rows? Why would I pre-load them? Should I just query database each time cellForRowAtIndexPath is called? If so, what would I use as an index? Each row in the table will have an AUTOINCREMENT index, but since some rows may be deleted index will not correspond to rows in the table (in the SQL I may have something like this with row with index 3 missing): 1 Data1 Data1 2 Data2 Data2 4. data3 data3 Thanks

• Silverlight 4 seems like starving of memory

  I have been playing a bit with Silverlight and try to port my Silverlight 3.0 application to Silverlight 4.0. My application loads different XAP files and upon a user request create an instance of a Xaml user control and adds it to the main container, in a sort of MEF approach in order I can have an extensible and pluggable application. The application is pretty huge and to keep acceptable the performances and the initial loading I have built up some helper classes to load in the background all pages and user controls that might be used later on. On Silverlight 3.0 everything was running smoothly without any problem so far. Switching to SL 4.0 I have noticed that when the process approaches to create the instances of the user controls the layout freezes unexpectedly for a minute and sometimes for more. Looking at the task manager the memory usage of IE jumps from 50MB to 400MB and sometimes up to 1.5 GB. If the process won't take that much the layout is rendered properly even though the memory usage is still extremely high. Otherwise everything crashes due to out of memory exception. Running the same application compiled in SL3, the memory used is about 200MB when all the usercontrols are loaded. Time spent to load the application in SL3 is about 10 seconds, while it takes up to 3 mins in SL4 There are no transparencies, no opacities set, no effects and animations in the layout. User controls are instantied on the fly and added or removed in the visual tree on purpose when the user switches from one screen to another. The resources are all cleaned properly when a usercontrol is removed from the visual tree to allow the GC to operate in the background. I may do something wrong but I could not figure out where exactly nail out the source of this problem. As far as I know there is no memory profiler in SL4 that can help me out to find where to look at. But again I could not be updated on new debugging tools available.

• How to use SQLAlchemy to dump an SQL file from query expressions to bulk-insert into a DBMS?

  Please bear with me as I explain the problem, how I tried to solve it, and my question on how to improve it is at the end. I have a 100,000 line csv file from an offline batch job and I needed to insert it into the database as its proper models. Ordinarily, if this is a fairly straight-forward load, this can be trivially loaded by just munging the CSV file to fit a schema, but I had to do some external processing that requires querying and it's just much more convenient to use SQLAlchemy to generate the data I want. The data I want here is 3 models that represent 3 pre-exiting tables in the database and each subsequent model depends on the previous model. For example: Model C --> Foreign Key --> Model B --> Foreign Key --> Model A So, the models must be inserted in the order A, B, and C. I came up with a producer/consumer approach: - instantiate a multiprocessing.Process which contains a threadpool of 50 persister threads that have a threadlocal connection to a database - read a line from the file using the csv DictReader - enqueue the dictionary to the process, where each thread creates the appropriate models by querying the right values and each thread persists the models in the appropriate order This was faster than a non-threaded read/persist but it is way slower than bulk-loading a file into the database. The job finished persisting after about 45 minutes. For fun, I decided to write it in SQL statements, it took 5 minutes. Writing the SQL statements took me a couple of hours, though. So my question is, could I have used a faster method to insert rows using SQLAlchemy? As I understand it, SQLAlchemy is not designed for bulk insert operations, so this is less than ideal. This follows to my question, is there a way to generate the SQL statements using SQLAlchemy, throw them in a file, and then just use a bulk-load into the database? I know about str(model_object) but it does not show the interpolated values. I would appreciate any guidance for how to do this faster. Thanks!

  Hi, I'm getting confused in the doco how I should be setting up Ninject. I'm seeing different ways of doing it, some v2 versus v1 confusion probably included... Question - What is the best way in my WinForms application to set things up for NInject (i.e. what are the few lines of code required). I'm assuming this would go into the MainForm Load method. • Winforms: How to display a "loading" form?

  I have a grid and when a row is double clicked a form is loaded. However a lot of data must be loaded, so I'd like to display a simple form with the text 'loading, please wait..'. And when all loading is finished, the form must disappear. • Fast JSON serialization (and comparison with Pickle) for cluster computing in Python?

  I have a set of data points, each described by a dictionary. The processing of each data point is independent and I submit each one as a separate job to a cluster. Each data point has a unique name, and my cluster submission wrapper simply calls a script that takes a data point's name and a file describing all the data points. That script then accesses the data point from the file and performs the computation. Since each job has to load the set of all points only to retrieve the point to be run, I wanted to optimize this step by serializing the file describing the set of points into an easily retrievable format. I tried using JSONpickle, using the following method, to serialize a dictionary describing all the data points to file: def json_serialize(obj, filename, use_jsonpickle=True): f = open(filename, 'w') if use_jsonpickle: import jsonpickle json_obj = jsonpickle.encode(obj) f.write(json_obj) else: simplejson.dump(obj, f, indent=1) f.close() The dictionary contains very simple objects (lists, strings, floats, etc.) and has a total of 54,000 keys. The json file is ~20 Megabytes in size. It takes ~20 seconds to load this file into memory, which seems very slow to me. I switched to using pickle with the same exact object, and found that it generates a file that's about 7.8 megabytes in size, and can be loaded in ~1-2 seconds. This is a significant improvement, but it still seems like loading of a small object (less than 100,000 entries) should be faster. Aside from that, pickle is not human readable, which was the big advantage of JSON for me. Is there a way to use JSON to get similar or better speed ups? If not, do you have other ideas on structuring this? (Is the right solution to simply "slice" the file describing each event into a separate file and pass that on to the script that runs a data point in a cluster job? It seems like that could lead to a proliferation of files). thanks.

• How to read a database record with a DataReader and add it to a DataTable

  Hello I have some data in a Oracle database table(around 4 million records) which i want to transform and store in a MSSQL database using ADO.NET. So far i used (for much smaller tables) a DataAdapter to read the data out of the Oracle DataBase and add the DataTable to a DataSet for further processing. When i tried this with my huge table, there was a outofmemory exception thrown. ( I assume this is because i cannot load the whole table into my memory) :) Now i am looking for a good way to perform this extract/transfer/load, without storing the whole table in the memory. I would like to use a DataReader and read the single dataRecords in a DataTable. If there are about 100k rows in it, I would like to process them and clear the DataTable afterwards(to have free memory again). • Textured Primitives in XNA with a first person camera

  So I have a XNA application set up. The camera is in first person mode, and the user can move around using the keyboard and reposition the camera target with the mouse. I have been able to load 3D models fine, and they appear on screen no problem. Whenever I try to draw any primitive (textured or not), it does not show up anywhere on the screen, no matter how I position the camera.   We are using MVP (Supervising Controller) for ASP.NET WebForms with 3.5 SP1. What is the preferred way to check the value of a view property that only has the a set operation with RhinoMocks? • 3 Servers, is this is a cluster?

  Hello, At the moment I have one Ubuntu server, 9.10, running with a simple Samba share, a mail server, DNS server and DHCP server. Mostly its just there for file sharing and email server. I also have 2 other servers that are exactly the same hardware and spec as the first, which have an rsync set up to retrieve the shared folders and backs them up. However, if the first server goes down, all of our shares disappear along with our mail and the system must be rebuilt. Also I tend to find if people are downloading a large amount from the file server, no-one can access there emails - especially in the morning when everyone is signing in at once. Would it be more beneficial for me to have all 3 servers, all running the same services, doing the same thing with some sort of cluster with load balancing? I'm not really sure where to begin looking, or how to go about such a setup where 3 servers are all identical, but perhaps one acts as the main load balancer?? If someone can point me in the right direction, or if this simply sounds like one of those Enterprise Cloud's that is now a default setup in Ubuntu Server 9.10+, then I'll go down that route.   Hi, I making a game leaderboard on facebook. I'm not using connect but working inside the canvas. When I try to load the images from facebook it gives me the following error. SecurityError: Error #2122: Security sandbox violation: Loader.content: http://test cannot access http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/v22941/254/15/q652310588_2173.jpg A policy file is required, but the checkPolicyFile flag was not set when this media was loaded. • Error while splitting application context file in spring

  I am trying to split the ApplicationContext file in Spring. For ex. the file is testproject-servlet.xml having all the entries. Now I want to split this single file into multiple files according to logical groups like : group1-services.xml, group2-services.xml I have created following entries in web.xml : <servlet> <servlet-name>testproject</servlet-name> <servlet-class> org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet </servlet-class> <init-param> <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name> <param-value> /WEB-INF/group1-services.xml, /WEB-INF/group2-services.xml </param-value> </init-param> <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup> </servlet> I am using SimpleUrlHandlerMapping as: RegisterController PayrollServicesController I also have the controller defined as : .. .. The problem is that I have splitted the ApplicationContext file "testproject-servlet.xml" into two different files and I have kept the above entries in "group1-services.xml". Is it fine? I want to group things logically based on their use in seperate .xml files. But I am getting the following error when I try to access a page inside the application : org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet noHandlerFound WARNING: No mapping for [/TestProject/payroll_services.htm] in DispatcherServlet with name 'testproject' Please tell me how to resolve it. • Need help choosing database server

  Good day everyone. Recently I was given a task to develop an application to automate some aspects of stocks trading. While working on initial architecture, the database dilemma emerged. What I need is a fast database engine which can process huge amounts of data coming in very fast. I'm fairly experienced in general programming, but I never faced a task of developing a high-load database architecture. I developed a simple MSSQL database schema with several many-to-many relationships during one of my projects, but that's it. What I'm looking for is some advice on choosing the most suitable database engine and some pointers to various manuals or books which describe high-load database development. Specifics of the project are as follows: OS: Windows NT family (Server 2008 / 7) Primary platform: .NET with C# Database structure: one table to hold primary items and two or three tables with foreign keys to the first table to hold additional information. Database SELECT requirements: Need super-fast selection by foreign keys and by combination of foreign key and one of the columns (presumably DATETIME) Database INSERT requirements: The faster the better :) If there'll be significant performance gain, some parts can be written in C++ with managed interfaces to the rest of the system. So once again: given all that stuff I just typed, please give me some advice on what the best database for my project is. Links or references to some manuals and books on the subject are also greatly appreciated. EDIT: I'll need to insert 3-5 rows in 2 tables approximately once in 30-50 milliseconds and I'll need to do SELECT with 0-2 WHERE clauses queries with similar rate.

• Why do people have to use multiple versions of jQuery on the same page?

  I have noticed that sometimes people have to use multiple versions of jQuery in the same page (See question 1 and question 2). I assume people have to carry old versions of jQuery because some pieces of their code is based on an older version of jQuery. Obviously, this approach causes inefficiency. The ideal solution is to refactor the old code to use the newer jQuery API. I wonder if there are tools that automate the process of upgrading a piece of code to use a newer version of jQuery. I've never written programs in in either Javascript or jQuery. So, I'd like to hear from programmers experienced in these language about their opinion on this issue. In particular, I'd like to know the following. How much of problem it is to have to load multiple versions of jQuery? Have you ever had to load multiple versions of any other library in the same page? Do you know of any refactoring tools that helps you migrate your code to use the updated API? Do you think such a refactoring tool is useful? Are you willing to use it?

• jQuery scrollTo plugin to scroll screen to div wouldn't work, why?

  Hi all: I am working on a web application, whose mock-up page can now be found at: our server If you click on the blue title "step1" and then choose the option of "delivery to address", a form will show up using jQuery ajax load. No problem for this. Click on the "venue" radio button will take you to another form, no problem for this as well. If you scroll down a bit, you can see a textarea, top of that you can see a link called "what's this?". Click on it and the textarea shall be filled with sample words. The problem is, after clicking on the link, the webpage automatically scrolls to the top section. What I want is to keep the textarea to the center of screen after link is clicked. I am trying to use a jQuery plugin called "scrollTo", which can be found here From its demo page I can tell is what I want. • DOJO : How do you reinitiate form elements after ajax call ?

  I'm trying to do a couple of things using Zend Framework & Dojo Toolkit, and any help would be appreciated. Here's the problem: I have a form that is rendered with the Zend Framework form class, which has an ajax radio button selection. Clicking one of these radio buttons will send an ajax request to another controller, which has no layout, just a rendered form. The ajax request will then populate a div with the new form options. Problem is, when I replace the innerHTML of the div with the ajax response, all the form inputs and elements are not inheriting the same Dojo styling and form validation. I was wondering if there is a way to reinitate form elements after an ajax call? I have tried to use the code attached which I found and modified slightly for this example, however it did not work. If I use the line dojo.parser.parse( div ); nothing changes (rg_adress in the example is the ID of a form element that is placed on the DOM).
