• Suspend not working after kernel update on an HP Envy14 1050

  I just update ubuntu 12.04 to the kernel 3.2.0-30 and together with it a lot of packeges in the system. I am running it on an HP Envy14 1050. When I first made a fresh install of the clean ubuntu 12.04 I had the problem that when restoring from suspend the screen was black, although some backlight was there. I could fix it following this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/989674/comments/20. Now, after the update the black screen after suspend has reappeared but with no backlight at all and the led in the caps lock key blinking. The laptop is using a ATI radeon 5600 with the privative drivers. During the update process there was an error with depmod . You can see the /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt-term.log file at the end. UPDATE: suspend is not working at all. The problem is not when restoring from suspend, but when I try to suspend the system it gets blocked and the fan running. Only option is to press power button. • How Can I Bypass the X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN HTTP Header?

  I am developing a web page that needs to display, in an iframe, a report served by another company's SharePoint server. They are fine with this. The page we're trying to render in the iframe is giving us X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN which causes the browser (at least IE8) to refuse to render the content in a frame. First, is this something they can control or is it something SharePoint just does by default? If I ask them to turn this off, could they even do it? Second, can I do something to tell the browser to ignore this http header and just render the frame?

• WPF WebBrowser NavigateToString vs NavigateToStream (hebrew/non-utf8 encodings)

  When I use WPF WebBrowser's NavigateToString method to display UTF8 html (with hebrew text in it) it's displayed perfectly. However, when I try to use the NavigateToString to display html with hebrew text in it in a non-utf8 encoding (CodePage 1255 to be exact) the hebrew is messed up. I checked the cp1255 string in Visual Studio's debugger and it looks great, and also when I save the source of the web browser's contents and open it with an external browser it looks great. If I use the NavigateToStream method instead of the NavigateToString method it works great. What's the problem with the NavigateToString? am I doing something wrong?

• Deploying MVC2 application to IIS7.5 - Ninject asked to provide controllers for content files

  I have an application that started life as an MVC (1.0) app in Visual Studio 2008 Sp1 with a bunch of Silverlight 3 projects as part of the site. Nothing fancy at all. Using Ninject for dependency injection (first version 2 beta, now the released version 2 with the MVC extensions). With the release of .Net 4.0, VS2010, MVC2 etc., we decided to move the application to the newest platform. The conversion wizard in VS2010 apparently took care of everything, with one exception - it didn't change references to mvc1 to now point to mvc2, so I had to do that manually. Of course, this makes me think about other MVC2 things that could be missing from my app, that would be there if I did File - New Project... But that is not the focus of this question. When I deploy this application to the IIS 7.5 server (running on Win2008 R2 x64), the application as such works. However, images, scripts and other static content doesn't seem to exist. Of course they are there on disk on the server, but they don't show up in the client web browser. I am fairly new to IIS, so the only trick I knew is to try to open the web page in a browser on the server, as that could give me more information. And here, finally, we meet our enemy. If I try to go directly to the URL of one of the images (http://server/Content/someimage.jpg for instance), I get the following error in the browser: The IControllerFactory 'Ninject.Web.Mvc.NinjectControllerFactory' did not return a controller for a controller named 'Content'. Aha. The web server tries to feed this request to MVC, who with its' default routing setup assumes Content to be a controller, and fails. How can I get it to treat Content/ and Scripts/ (among others) as non-controllers and just pass through the static content? This of course works with Cassini on my developer machine, but as soon as I deploy, this problem hits. I am using the last version of Ninject MVC 2 where the IoC tool should pass missing controllers to the base controller factory, but this has apparently not helped. I have also tried to add ignore routes for Content etc., but this apparently has no effect either. I am not even sure I am addressing the problem on the right level. Does anyone know where to look to get this app going? I have full control of the web server so I can more or less do whatever I want to it, as long as it starts working. Thanks!

• Acrobat Reader ActiveX in WebBrowser stealing focus [C#]

  I'm using webBrowser.Navigate(url) control to display page. I noticed this action steals focus from current control (grid) and than I have problem to focus grid back (tired myGrid.Focus, .Select etc...) This is really annoying behaviour of browser... Does anyone knows how to prevent focus stealing by Browser or (if not) hot to force to focus control back ? EDIT: I've also tried webBrowser.DocumentCompleted event to focus back to grid EDIT 2 Good case to test this is openning PDF files webBrowser.Navigate(@"C:\TEMP\test.pdf") I believe this is ActiveX issue. On first glance it looks that this is not problem with focusing control but loosing entire Form focus... EDIT 3 I tried another approach: Form keyPress event: I thought I can capture form's keyPress and move focus from WebBrowser / AdobeReader ActiveX to my control. But surprisingly event is not fired! Looks Reader taken all control and there is no way to do anything programically until you do mouse click on (at least) form's caption Any advice (s) ?

• Flash Player 10.1 crash on shared object access

  Hi all, since updating my Flash Player plugin from 10 to 10.1, I'm seeing a weird crash when accessing shared objects. Flex Builder's debugger pops up and prints a stack trace like this: undefined at flash.net::SharedObject$/getLocal() at my.code::MyClass$/load()[/my/path/to/my/MyClass.as:27] (...) This happens when calling SharedObject.getLocal("someString") for the second time for the same string, though it doesn't always crash. When using another browser on the same machine (not configured as the preferred debugging browser in Flex Builder), Flash Player remains silent. The code is wrapped in a try/catch(Error) block which does not catch this error. I'm using Flex SDK 3.5 and Flex Builder 3 on Mac OS X 10.6.3. Has anyone else seen this? Thanks, Simon

  Is there a native option (ie. without installing extra soft/package/plugins) to enable mouse support in the Terminal app? Actually, I'm using a lot vim with the option set mouse=a (activating mouse features). But it seems that Terminal don't support all xterm's features. It appears (after some googling) that Terminal had once the mouse support, but I wonder where did it go. N.B: I really want mouse support in Terminal, not only for vim, so please, don't suggest MacVim :]

The remote server is Windows Server 2008 + IIS 7.0 + IIS Media Bit Rate Throttling Control. Since the request media URL can be discovered (e.g. from traffic sniffer), and I want to know how to prevent from download directly from the Url? i.e. I want end user to use my Silverlight media player application in browser to play the file, prevent them from download to local directly. Cannot load context file error was caused by I moved the file arround in different location since I though the classpath was the problem. • Mobile Device emulator cannot access localhost

  I am using Windows Mobile 6 Professional Emulator and Windows Mobile Device Center. I connected and cradled the emulator to my computer. I am trying to connect from the browser of the emulator to a webservice that is deployed in the IIS of my computer (same machine where the emulator is installed). If I connect my computer to the internet, I can access any website, including my local WS (using the IP returned by ipConfig). The problem is when I disconnect the computer from the Internet: I cannot access my local web service using the IP (internal one returned by ipconfig), or machine name. Do you have any ideea what settings am I missing? I am sure this it's possible somehow, I just don't know how... PS: The goal is to access the WS from a mobile application, but until I cannot access it from the browser, I cannot access it from the application either. Thank you!

From the support perspective how can one find whether the pages which are opening on GUI at any point of time is a server side scripting or Client side scripting. The reason why I ask this is because I understand that some of the codes are executed by the browser such as Javascript.   Already asked on the Evil Exchange, but as always that was no help. I'm having this problem today: When creating a stand alone web application using IntraWeb, I get this exception in the IDE when I try to test out a session from my app in the browser: First chance exception at $7C812A6B. Exception class EOleSysError with message 'CoInitialize has not been called'. Process WebContactManager.exe (1112) If I click "continue" on the IDE exception dialog, the browser itself just shows: 200 OK ...rather than the controls on my main form. This error does not seem to occur when I replace ADO with other database components such as dbExpress or BDE. What is this error telling me, and how do I fix it? (Note I'm using the stock "VCL for the Web" IntraWeb components which come built-in with D2007). Thanks in advance for any and all help!

  My Silverlight4 app is hosted in ASP.NET MVC 2 web application. I do web request through HttpWebRequest class but it gives back a result previously cached. How to disable this caching behavior? There are some links which talks about HttpWebRequest in .NET but Silverlight HttpWebrequest is different. Someone suggested to add unique dummy query string on every web request, but I'd prefer more elegant solution. I also tried the following, but it didn't work: _myHttpWebRequest.BeginGetRequestStream(new AsyncCallback(BeginRequest), new Guid()); In fact, by setting browser history settings it is possible to disable caching.
