  I have the whole setup working for months on my local computer. I'm installing on a remote site now. Created a fresh mysql DB, and created a new user ("someuser") and gave it complete grants, like so - GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON . TO 'someuser'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'somepassword' WITH GRANT OPTION; I have sync'd the db, using "python manage.py syncdb" and the correct tables were created. My settings.py has this same user. But when I try to login a user through the application, and it hits the DB, I see the following in the logs - (1045, "Access denied for user 'someuser'@'localhost' (using password: YES)") I logged in through mysql (installed on the same box as django) and checked the grants and it correctly shows - Grants for djangouser@localhost GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON * . * TO 'someuser'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD '*thesaltedpasswordOverHere' WITH GRANT OPTION I don't want to use the root user/password for django, since it doesn't seem the correct way. Any pointers as to what might be wrong ?

  I've created a simple application .Net Class that converts an excel spreadsheet into a a pdf file. I then get a Excel 2007 application to call this dll which works fine on my development machine. However when i deploy it on to a machine that has both the .net framework and excel 2007, i get this error - run-time error '429' activex component can't create object when i try and register the tlb or the dll , i get error below. the module c:\temp\test\Printlibarary.dll2 was loaded but the entry-point dllregisterserver was not found. Make sure that ...... is a valid dll or ocx file and then try again. Can someone please help me to resolve this.

• How can I create a MethodInfo from an Action delegate

  I am trying to develop an NUnit addin that dynamically adds test methods to a suite from an object that contains a list of Action delegates. The problem is that NUnit appears to be leaning heavily on reflection to get the job done. Consequently, it looks like there's no simple way to add my Actions directly to the suite. I must, instead, add MethodInfo objects. This would normally work, but the Action delegates are anonymous, so I would have to build the types and methods to accomplish this. I need to find an easier way to do this, without resorting to using Emit. Does anyone know how to easily create MethodInfo instances from Action delegates?

  I have a cache service,it's works as .net remoting, i want to create another windows service to clean up the that cache service by transfer the objects from cache to files. because they are in separate process, is their any way i could access that cache service or do i have to expose a method from the cache service to do that clean up work? the "clean up" means i want to serialize the object from Cache to file and these saved file will be used for further process. let me explain this application more detail. the application is mainly a log service to log all the coming request and these request will be saved to db for further data mining. we have 2 design for this log system 1) use MSMQ, but seems it's performance is not good enough, we don't use it. 2) we design a cache service, each request will be saved into the cache, and we need another function to clean up the cache by serialize the object to file.

• RMI java doesn't create skeleton class

  I wrote a remote service MyremoteImpl.java and used following command after compiled it. rmic MyRemoteImpl I learned that this method suppose to create stub class and a skeleton class but I can only see the stub class, why is that? • JTable custom cell renderer to create row header

  Can somebody please explain how I would create row headers? I already have the data and header texts set in the JTable: all I want to know is how I can use a cell renderer to take that first column (i.e. the row header column) and make it look like the column headers (i.e. the first row). Right now its background is white, so it looks like regular data. I want it to appear gray (or non-opaque I guess??). Oh and it should also not be selectable. Thanks.

  I'm creating a new Client / Server application in C# and expect to have a fairly high rate of connections. That made me think of database connection pools which help mitigate the expense of creating and disposing connections between the client and database. I would like to create a similar capability for my application and haven't been able to find any good examples of how to apply this pattern. Do I really need to spin up an instance of a TcpClient every time I want to send a message to the server and receive a receipt message? Each connection is expected to transport between 1-5KB with each receiving a 1KB response message. I realize this question is somewhat vague, but I am starting from scratch so I am open to suggestions. Even if that means my suppositions are all wrong.

  Hey, Since week I use ToirtoiseSVN and AnkhSVN and GoogleCode and sourceforge.net as my project hosting. For me it's frustrating to fill all this forms before create next project. So I start thinking about mu own repository hosting... Can I use simple file hosting etc. and install there software like use Google or SourceForge to have my own SVN Server ? My point is to have independent repository in internet without all this uselessly UI interface which give me Google and SF to administrate my version control. I don't want to take advantage of already exist hosting like GoogleCode etc - I want to be independent from them! ;) Or maybe it's other way to do my own repository hosting and FREE ;) Please don't tell me that I'm at mercy of commercial hosting... :/ p.s. But I have a situation where the legacy application is accessing a database with an ORM and I need to access the same database from the new .net application using Fluent nHibernate. So the question is what problems this will make and how to solve them? I guess the main issue is the caching. I need to disable the caching on one of the applications (which would be the new app). So how can I disable caching in nHibernate? Is there anything else that should be careful about?

  I opened a heroku account. I followed the instructions on http://docs.heroku.com/quickstart. I have a working rails app which I have deployed successfully elsewhere. I have a github account that works. I have a local git repository for my rails app. I installed the heroku gem. It shows up in my gem list. I typed 'heroku create' at the command prompt... My command console showed that it was thinking about it, but did nothing. No errors. No action. Possible related facts: I am using a Windows 7 machine. I have also failed miserably at deploying with capistrano with a similar--issue command, get no response--pattern.

  The Problem: I need to check if a user (local user or domain user, either one is possible) has write access to a file (if you're curious, %windir%\system32\inetsrv\applicationHost.config. This file is protected by Windows and you need to be an administrator to write to it.) My Solution: The general construct is: using (Impersonator impersonator = new Impersonator(domain, username, password)) { try { using (FileStream fs = File.OpenWrite(appHostConfigPath)) { return true; } catch { return false; } } As you can imagine, the Impersonator class is an IDisposible which uses native interop to call LogonUser. Nothing too creative, and it works. Where I am stuck: On Windows OSs with UAC enabled, this function always return false even if the user specified by username is an administrator. Even though my program is running elevated as an administrator, I suspect what's happening is that the impersonated code is running as a limited administrator. Hence, the method is returning false. I don't have any creative solutions to this. Can anyone help?

• "Access is denied" error on accessing iframe document object

  For posting AJAX forms in a form with many parameters, I am using a solution of creating an iframe, posting the form to it by POST, and then accessing the iframe's content. specifically, I am accessing the content like this: $("some_iframe_id").get(0).contentWindow.document I tested it and it worked. On some of the pages, I started getting an "Access is denied" error. As far as I know, this shouldn't happen if the iframe is served from the same domain. I'm pretty sure it was working before. Anybody have a clue? If I'm not being clear enough: I'm posting to the same domain. So this is not a cross-domain request. I am testing on IE only. P.S. I can't use simple ajax POST queries (don't ask...)

Each line is actually made up of several data sets (positive, negative regions etc.) and so I'd like to be able to create a generator that will feed one colour at a time across a spectrum, for example the gist_rainbow map shown here. Maybe a generator is not the best way to do this, if so what is the accepted way?

• Can't create admin user on Heroku

  I am new to rails and I have gone through Kevin Skoglund's Ruby on Rails 3 Essential Training course on Lynda.com. Through the course you set up a simple cms, which I did. It doesn't cover Git or deployment but I've pushed my simple cms to github (https://github.com/nick5a1/Simple_CMS) and deployed to Heroku (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/). In order to deploy to Heroku I followed the Heroku setup guide (https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/rails3) and switched my database from MySQL to PostgreSQL. As instructed I changed gen'mysql2' to gen 'sqlite3' in my Gemfile and ran bundle install before pushing. I then ran heroku run rake db:migrate. I'm running into 2 problems. When I try to log in (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/access) I get an error "We're sorry, but something went wrong". I should instead be getting a flash message with invalid username/password combination. This is what I'm getting on my test environment on my local machine. Secondly, when I log into the Heroku console to create and create an admin user, when I try to save that user I get the following error: irb(main):004:0> user.save (1.2ms) BEGIN AdminUser Exists (1.9ms) SELECT 1 AS one FROM "admin_users" WHERE "admin_users"."username" = 'Nick5a1' LIMIT 1 (1.7ms) ROLLBACK => false Any advice on how to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated :). • What's a good way to create an Event Calendar

  Hi, I want to create an Event Calendar for my iPhone App. In a first instance the Event Calendar is supposed to list the Events and have a Details View with additional info. It is also supposed to contain an action to trasfer a specific event to the iPhone Calendar. First thoughts go towards using a UITableView where I make the event dates as sections. Since the Calendar is supposed to span many month I am unsure whether this really is the best way to go about it. Any suggestions?
