• SVN checkout/export too long to download

  Hi, My checkout/export session in svn is kinda weird. The file is just a 300KB in size but the downloading keeps going and it reaches a megabytes in size. The file is in RPM format. I don't know if the file is corrupt or the SVN has a bug. I tried to download the file using web browser and seems the downloading works fine. What probably is the main problem is here?

• Azure Membership UI

  Using AspProviders (TableStorageMembershipProvider etc) from Microsoft WCF Azure Samples. It is WCF Service Web Role, and in Azure Storage Explorer I can see Membership, Roles and Session tables appearing nicely when I try to connect. But is there any exisiting code to manage Membership and Roles? Some ASPX pages I guess, something like this for plain old ASP.NET, but more modern and Azure-tested hopefully? Thanks, Andres

• JSF Navigation issue Facelets and Beans

  Hi, I have an issue with navigation in my simple jsf system. I have MainBean that has two methods: public String register() and public String login(). I have played with faces-config.xml for several hours and I feel like I miss something very important because I think like I have tried all simple solutions so far :). I have added the mysql connector (jdbc) to Tomcat's lib folder and I am able to register the table to mySQL databse. It even allows my users to log in to the page. The only problem is that I can't use navigation in any other page than login.xhtml. Seems like navigation is only active on this one. I tried to use * but is no joy. I am sure that there is a simple fix for that and someone will come up with correct solution soon. There is one more file (not specified in faces-config.xml file, because did not work either - but going from login.xhtml by button works fine. I tried to manage navigation from login_failed.xhtml first, then I will apply the same rool for registration to come back to login page when customer registers his nick name). register.xhtml: Basicaly mainBean.register now calls the database and returns string, but obviously it doesn't navigate to any view (but gives an entry to database). I believe it is simple fix for most of the experienced web developers and any help will be greately appreciated. I use eclipse, tomcat 6 and Widows Vista if that helps :) Thank you in advance. • Logging in with webrat, celerity doesn't recognize that.

  I'm using cucumber with webrat, and I am just starting to integrate culerity/celerity. My webrat login steps have been working great, and I have them as a Background for many of my scenarios. The problem is that although I can log in successfully via webrat, my celerity specific step definitions don't seem to recognize that. I can check the session from the step def and it confirms that I have a valid user that is logged in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

• Second ip address on same interface CentOS 6.3

  I tried to add a second LAN addresses in CentOS 6.3 on a brand new install and it's not working. I installed a new copy of CentOS 5.7 and tried the same and it worked right away. • Authenticating Active Directory Users to Mac OS X Mavericks Server L2TP VPN Service

  We have a Windows Server 2012 Active Directory Infrastructure that consists of two domain controllers. Bound to the Active Directory Domain is a Mac OS X Mavericks Server 10.9.3. The server runs Profile Manager and VPN Services. My Active Directory users are able to authenticate to the Profile Manager, but not the VPN. I have found several threads on other forums of other users reporting similar issues, here is just one of many references: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5174619 It appears as though the issue is related to a CHAP authentication failure. Can anyone suggest what next troubleshooting steps I might take? Is there a way to liberalize the authentication mechanism to include MSCHAP? Here is an excerpt of the transaction from the logs. • How can I get my routers to forward ports correctly?

  My network currently looks like this (simplified): Note that Router #2 is connected to the LAN interface of Router #1. This should be familiar to anyone who has seen a standard static-IP setup with an additional firewall for a residence or other small building. Router #1 is actually my cable gateway, but since it is a fully functional router/firewall, I am going to refer to it as a router. Now, I need to open various ports in both firewalls for incoming communication to my server - port 80 is a good example. So I've opened up port 80 in Router #2, and so far all incoming traffic at the public IP X.X.X.129 is being routed correctly. The problem is that I also need my server to respond to incoming traffic at the public IP X.X.X.130 on the WAN interface of Router #1. Naturally, I can't just tell Router #1 to forward port 80 to another public IP. Port forwarding is only supported when the traffic is being directed to the LAN subnet. I am willing to restructure my network topology if required, with the following conditions: Router #1 cannot have its WAN IP reassigned - X.X.X.130 is mandatory. Router #1 cannot be moved or disconnected from the cloud. The server cannot be given a second IP address. I would prefer the server to have a private IP address - e.g. 10.0.0.10 I'd like to keep Router #2, but it can have a private IP - e.g. 10.0.1.10 Following these rules, I need to get my server to receive incoming traffic on port 80 from both public IP addresses. Does anyone on SU know if this is possible? So far my only theories have been to set up a static route on either router, or to somehow combine my two subnets into a single subnet.

• Windows 8 & Hyper-V Can't Bridge Wifi Connection

  So I have an odd issue that I can't quite figure out... I am running Windows 8 Enterprise on a Dell 6420 laptop. I have a Broadcom 802.11n wireless adapter. I am connected to an home router (Netgear WNDR3700) that is connected to the internet. It is a very simple home network setup. I am trying to stand-up a few VMs in Hyper-V and want the VMs to be able to access the internet over my wireless connection. I have found numerous examples of how to set this up using both External and Internal Virtual Switches but have yet to be able to get it to work on my machine. I have narrowed the issue down to the fact that my host machine always loses internet connection when I bridge my wifi connection (both when it is bridged automatically by windows when I setup an external virtual switch bound to the wifi adapter or if I do it manually by creating an internal virtual switch, right click on it and my wifi network and select "Bridge Connections".) In both cases after the bridge is established, my host machine can no longer connect to the internet. I am not sure where to start with troubleshooting this problem. After the bridge is setup, an ipconfig shows all netowrk devices on the machine as "Media Disconnected". I do know that the wireless adapter is connected to the router b/c it shows the connection as active and full-strength. The only thing I can possibly think of is that this machine also has the Cisco VPN client installed on it which installs a Cisco Virtual Network Adapter. Is it possible that this Cisco Virtual Adapter is causing me issues when I try to bridge? I saw some people had a similar issue with a VirtualBox virtual adapter when trying to share via Hyper-V. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to troubleshoot?

• Is "DSLAM congestion" a legitimate reason for slow DSL?

  My DSL has been extremely slow in the evenings recently. To test it, I telnet to my DSL Modem, and ping the gateway. This way I eliminate internet congestion and local network issues. In the mornings I get 30ms - 50ms pings. In the evenings, it bounces around a lot, but 10000ms pings are common. I complained to Qwest support, and they said it was a known issue on their end, their engineers were working on it, and wouldn't say anything else. A couple days later I complained again, and they sent out a technician. He tested my house wiring and found that one of them had a short. It was an unused line, so we disconnected it, and he said things looked better and left. My daytime speeds improved at this point, but evening is still bad. I complained to Qwest support again, and they said it was a problem with DSLAM congestion at their end, and that they were working on it, but no ETA. My neighbor has Qwest DSL and doesn't seem to have these problems. That seems strange. I go use her network when I absolutely must get online and mine is behaving badly. I can't tell if they're yanking my chain or not. Regardless, these speeds are crap. I'm paying for 7Mpbs but am lucky if I get 1/10th that in the evenings. My kids like to watch Netflix streaming movies, and it's just impossible after 5pm or so. Should I wait it out? Will complaining again produce any results? Should I change my subscription to a lower speed until they fix their end? Or switch to cable?

• Mainboard shuts itself off after half a second or so

  Here's the problem: When I start the PC, the mainboard powers up, then stays that way maybe 0.2-0.5 seconds, and then shuts off again. I say mainboard, and not PC, because I removed all the parts from the system and disconnected everything but the mainboard power supply (the broad 12 pin thingy). When I have the other parts (cpu, graphics card, ram, etc.) installed and connected, the basic behaviour stays the same, but now the mainboard runs for about 6 or 7 seconds (this is a guess) before shutting off. This all started when my monitor wouldn't receive a video signal today, without giving POSTs, so I took the graphics card and the RAM out to see if it changes anything. It didn't, except that from that point on the mainboard would start to have this behavior where it just stays on for a very short time and then shuts off again. I already tested it with a backup PSU - same behavior. What could this be? I'm thinking it can't be on a physical level (transistors burned through or something like that), since then the mainboard either shouldn't start at all or it should detect hardware failures in non-essential parts of the syste and start beeping. Sorry, I forgot to mention. It's an MSI P67A-C43. I already checked the capacitors if someone popped, but I can't find anything. I also tried resetting the cmos, but that didn't change anything.

• Problem using a public key when connecting to a SSH server running on Cygwin

  We have installed Cygwin on a Windows Server 2008 Standard server and it working pretty well. Unfortunately we still have a big problem. We want to connect using a public key through SSH which doesn't work. It always falls back to using password login. We have appended our public key to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on the server and we have our private and public key in ~/.ssh/id_dsa respective ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub on the client. When debugging the SSH login session we see that the key is offered by the server apparently rejects it by some unknown reason. • Why is Windows Update trying to install an update I don't need?

  I have a Windows 7 system that currently has a single update pending: Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems If I try to install the update, Windows Update will: Create a restore point Fail with the error: Code 9C48 Windows Update encountered an error. The event log for the event reads: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems. If you search the web for that error, there are many other people with the exact same issue. Sadly, I am unable to apply the proposed solutions to my case, because I just installed this system. There is nothing on it, except Windows 7. I installed the system and ran through the updates. I also did the exact same process with this machine several times over the past few days due to a long-term test we just started. I didn't have any problems with any Windows Update on the previous installation runs and I know I didn't do anything different this time because I followed the installation procedures instructions which are to be used during the test. How did this happen and how do I solve it? Further Investigation So, as I always like to do, I ran the update again while running Process Monitor and dug up further details.   We have installed Cygwin on a Windows Server 2008 Standard server and it working pretty well. Unfortunately we still have a big problem. We want to connect using a public key through SSH which doesn't work. It always falls back to using password login. We have appended our public key to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on the server and we have our private and public key in ~/.ssh/id_dsa respective ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub on the client. When debugging the SSH login session we see that the key is offered by the server apparently rejects it by some unknown reason. • Graphics and USB devices freezing soon after OS loads

  I run Ubuntu/Windows dual boot. Last night I started the upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04, and my computer has not worked since in either Windows or Ubuntu. Here's what I got when I rebooted after the upgrade, and continue to get every time I boot: Gets to GRUB screen OK. Choose Ubuntu - black screen or crazy purple lines. At first I assumed something went wrong with the upgrade (often happens). Choose Windows - works fine, I log in, but soon after that the graphics freeze (sometimes with purple artifacts). The keyboard and mouse (both USB) also lose power at the same instant, and none of the USB ports have power to them. This happens sooner or later every time I boot. Update: the HDD also appears to lose power at the same point. I have tried a live CD, but my computer refuses to boot any CD even after disabling all other boot options in the BIOS. I have disconnected everything except keyboard, mouse, graphics card with one monitor, one RAM sick and HDD; no change. I also took the little battery out to reset CMOS. I am pretty sure no matter how wrong the Ubuntu upgrade went, it wouldn't cause the above symptoms in Windows. So the only explanation I can think of is that a hardware failure occurred at the same time. Some possible causes of this I can think of are: A couple of days before this, I added a third screen (which worked fine). About a week before, my house lost power in a storm (no ill effects over the past few days though). What can I do, other than buy a new motherboard/CPU and hope it works? Unfortunately I don't have another box to swap parts into to test at the moment.

• Windows XP - Power surge on hub port

  Since last few weeks I constantly get this error, as status bar balloon: Power Surge on Hub Port - A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port. Due to this now I am unable to access any USB devices properly, they get disconnected intermittently. I did quite a few things to resolve this problem, firstly obviously through the Windows help. I even tried all the things told on the Microsoft website(which essentially says is to check and update the driver) but in vain. One suggestion, I found when I google'd was to disable the USB2 controller through the Device Manager and since at every startup the System configuration comes up complaining that it has been changed etc.(On that same site it is mentioned to ignore this message.) But after everything I still cant solve this problem. Any help is much appreciated. The system is installed with Windows XP service Pack 3 and all the updates till last month. Please let me know if any other hardware info is required. **UPDATE** My laptop is about 5 years old now, its an HP with Celeron 1.4G processor. Windows XP SP3 installed. All latest windows updates installed. 2 USB ports available. BIOS is HP 68DTD ver F.0A Do I need to update my BIOS from somewhere ? or is this a hardware problem altogether?
