• Unreachable breakpoint at execut(able/ing) code

  I've got two DLLs, one in written in native C++ and the other in C++/CLI. The former is injected into a process, and at a later point in time, loads the latter. While debugging, I noticed that the native DLL's breakpoints were functioning correctly while the other's weren't, even though its code was being executed. The breakpoints showed this message: This breakpoint will not be hit. No executable code associated with this line. Possible causes include: preprocessor directives or compiler/linker optimizations. The modules window tells me that the plugin's symbols are loaded. I'm running with its DEBUG build. Any ideas on why this is so and perhaps a fix ?

• Delphi Clientdataset Lookup/Aggregate

  Hi, I need a little help with ClientDatasets in Delphi. What I want to achieve is a grid showing customers, where one of the columns shows the number of orders for each customer. I put a ClientDataset on a form and load Customers.xml from Delphi demo-data. Another ClienDataset is loaded with orders.xml. Relatively simple, I can define an aggregate on the orders CDS showing the total amount per customer (or the count). (See Cary Jensens article on this: http://edn.embarcadero.com/article/29272) The problem is getting this aggregate result from orders dataset into the customer dataset. It is kind of an reverse lookup, since there is a 1-n relationship between customers and orders, not an n-1 as normally in lookup scenarios. Any ideas ? Søren

• Groovy Grails, How do you stream or buffer a large file in a Controller's response?

  Hi Guys I have a controller that makes a connection to a url to retrieve a csv file. I am able to send the file in the response using the following code, this works fine. def fileURL = "www.mysite.com/input.csv" def thisUrl = new URL(fileURL); def connection = thisUrl.openConnection(); def output = connection.content.text; response.setHeader "Content-disposition", "attachment; filename=${'output.csv'}" response.contentType = 'text/csv' response.outputStream << output response.outputStream.flush() However I don't think this method is inappropriate for a large file, as the whole file is loaded into the controllers memory. I want to be able to read the file chunk by chunk and write the file to the response chunk by chunk. Any ideas?

• Binding jQuery UI plugin after $.load

  I have a function that attaches the jQuery UI DatePicker (with my options) to a passed jQuery object: function bindDatepicker($obj) { if ($obj == null) $obj = $("input.date"); $obj.datepicker( { appendText: '(yyyy-mm-dd)', autoSize: true, changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, closeText: 'Done', dateFormat: 'yy-mm-dd', defaultDate: '+1m', minDate: +1, numberOfMonths: 2 } ); } I call this at the beginning of every page to bind it to input elements: $(function() { bindDatepicker($("input.date")); }); This works fine. My problem comes in when I load form elements using $.load(). I cannot attach the DatePicker to any of the loaded elements. For example: $("#id").load("urlToLoad", function() { bindDatepicker($("input.date")); }); Loads the form elements into a div just fine, but will not attach the DatePicker. Why is this? • App Engine HTTP 500s

  This request caused a new process to be started for your application, and thus caused your application code to be loaded for the first time. This request may thus take longer and use more CPU than a typical request for your application. I've handled all the situations, also DeadlineExceededError too. But sometimes I see these error messages in error logs. That request took about 10k ms, so it's not exceeded the limit too. But there is no other specific message about this error. All I know is that it returned HTTP 500. Is there anyone know the reason of these error messages? Thank you.

• How to use reflection to get a default constructor?

  I am writing a library that generates derived classes of abstract classes dynamically at runtime. The constructor of the derived class needs a MethodInfo of the base class constructor so that it can invoke it. However, for some reason Type.GetConstructor() returns null. For example: abstract class Test { public abstract void F(); } public static void Main(string[] args) { ConstructorInfo constructor = typeof(Test).GetConstructor( BindingFlags.NonPublic | BindingFlags.Public, null, System.Type.EmptyTypes, null); // returns null! } Note that GetConstructor returns null even if I explicitly declare a constructor in Test, and even if Test is not abstract.

I use the following setting in the WebView, but once the view is loaded, I can't type in login details. What I am missing? • Jquery live not working in IE

  Hi, I have some code that works fine in FF but not in IE. I have read other posts saying that the Jquery live method does not support change events but I am using a click event. Here is my code, it is inside $(document).ready(function(): $("a").live("click", function(e) { alert("link clicked"); //do stuff }); If FF the alert is fired but not in IE. When I use $("a").click it works fine, the problem is that I need to the function to be applied to links that do not exist when the page is first loaded (they will be created via ajax calls at a later stage). Do I have any options here. We are using jquery-1.4.1.min.js. Thanks in advance

• Silverlight Scrollable Content Problem

  I am fairy new to Silverlight and I have a problem. I have a grid on a page that is resizable when the user resizes their browser window. In one of the grids columns I want to display dynamically added content that is scrollable, as there is more data than space available. I currently have a scrollViewer with a stack panel inside it, that i programmatically add a user control to and then several user controls to that control depending on the amount of content. My problem is this. The scrollViewer does not respect the available space and as such displays its content outside of the viewable area when there is more data than space. i.e. it does not uses it is not scrollable nature. Hopefully this is something simple that I have missed, but i am banging my head against the wall at the moment. Any help gratefully received.

  Ran into this problem today, posting in case someone else has the same issue. var execBtn = document.createElement('input'); execBtn.setAttribute("type", "button"); execBtn.setAttribute("id", "execBtn"); execBtn.setAttribute("value", "Execute"); execBtn.setAttribute("onclick", "runCommand();"); Turns out to get IE to run an onclick on a dynamically generated element, we can't use setAttribute. Instead, we need to set the onclick property on the object with an anonymous function wrapping the code we want to run. execBtn.onclick = function() { runCommand() }; BAD IDEAS: You can do execBtn.setAttribute("onclick", function() { runCommand() }); but it will break in IE in non-standards mode according to @scunliffe. You can't do this at all execBtn.setAttribute("onclick", runCommand() ); because it executes immediately, and sets the result of runCommand() to be the onClick attribute value, nor can you do execBtn.setAttribute("onclick", runCommand);

  Hi all, I am new to WCF i am using constructor in my WCF service.svc.cs file....It throws this error when i use the constructor The service type provided could not be loaded as a service because it does not have a default (parameter-less) constructor. When i remove the constructor its working fine....But its compulsory that i have to use constructor...   Is there a good explanation out there on what exactly lazy="extra" is capable of? All the posts I've seen all just repeat the fact that it turns references to MyObject.ItsCollection.Count into select count(*) queries (assuming they're not loaded already). I'd like to know if it's capable of more robust things, like turning MyObject.ItsCollection.Any(o => o.Whatever == 5) into a SELECT ...EXISTS query. Section 18.1 of the docs only touches on it. I'm not an NH developer, so I can't really experiment with it and watch SQL Profiler without doing a bit of work getting everything set up; I'm just looking for some sort of reference describing what this feature is capable of.   I'm serving ads using OpenX within Rails. To correctly use the OpenX full page invocation you need to set Oa_zones[] array, otherwise all available ads are requested (but will never be used). These are the necessary pieces: Build an array of zones. Ideally zones could be added in any partial, so working with this array needs to be accessible throughout the view. Output full page invocation link ie. delivery/spcjs.php?id=1&block=1 Output zones The problem is, the full page invocation script can't be loaded until the zone array is built (and instantiated in JavaScript). At the same time, the zone array can't be built until the entire view has been rendered.

  I have a UIWebView in UITableView, I have this on storyboard: The UIImageView is my future NavBar and the UIWebView is in the UITableView, I have this configuration: -UIImageView -UITableView -UIWebView -UITableViewCell When the UIWebView load the pages (I Have local pages) I want that it takes dynamically their size and for this I have this code: [detailWebView setFrame:CGRectMake(0.,0.,detailWebView.frame.size.width,[[detailWebView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"document.body.scrollHeight;"] intValue])]; The problem is when the loaded page is long, my UIWebBrowser hide the cells and didn't push them to get cells at the bottom. • Not able to override CSS within IFrame

  I am using disqus comments for my jekyll blog with some CSS styles overriden in my stylesheet and used to work perfectly. Recently, disqus has introduced a new UI for their comments system which has completely broken the font colors. Since my site has dark background, I am trying to apply styles based on new disqus HTML structure generated. However, it seems that none of my styles get applied. It seems that is because disqus is loaded within iframe. Any ideas how can I fix the font colors. • Trying to debug a plugin in tuxguitar, need help building the project in Eclipse.

  I am not too familiar with java / eclipse but I am trying to debug a plugin in TuxGuitar. The plugin is the gtp plugin which allows reading of guitar pro files. I have imported the main project, TuxGuitar, and the TuxGuitar-gtp plugin. I have all build dependencies configured and the project builds. However, when I debug the app, the plugin is not available. The documentation says plugins are loaded from the share/plugins folder and they are jar files. I tried exporting the gtp plugin as a jar into the share/plugins folder, but it still does not load when I debug. Is there some sort of configuration I need to do in Eclipse? Thanks!

• Best practices for querying an entire row in a database table? (MySQL / CodeIgniter)

  Sorry for the novice question! I have a table called cities in which I have fields called id, name, xpos, ypos. I'm trying to use the data from each row to set a div's position and name. What I'm wondering is what's the best practice for dynamically querying an unknown amount of rows (I don't know how many cities there might be, I want to pull the information from all of them) and then passing the variables from the model into the view and then setting attributes with it? Right now I've 'hacked' a solution where I run a different function each time which pulls a value using a query ('SELECT id FROM cities;'), then I store that in a global array variable and pass it into view. I do this for each var so I have arrays called: city_idVar, city_nameVar, city_xposVar, city_yposVar then I know that the city_nameVar[0] matches up with city_xposVar[0] etc. Is there a better way?

• Multiple .NET processes memory footprint

  I am developing an application suite that consists of several applications which user can run as needed (they can run all at the same time, or only several..). My concern is in physical memory footprint of each process, as shown in task manager. I am aware that Framework does memory management behind the curtains in terms that it devotes parts of memory for certain things that are not directly related to my application. The question. Does .NET Framework has some way of minimizing memory footprint of processes it runs when there are several processes running at the same time? (Noobish guess ahead) Like, if System.dll is already loaded by one process, does framework load it for each process, or it has some way of sharing it between processes? I am in no way striving to write as small (resource-wise) apps as possible (if I were, I probably wouldn't be using .NET Framework in the first place), but if there's something I can do something about over-using resources, I'd like to know about it.

  I'm automatically generating a PDF-file with Platypus that has dynamic content. This means that it might happen that the length of the text content (which is directly at the bottom of the pdf-file) may vary. However, it might happen that a page break is done in cases where the content is too long. This is because i use a "static" spacer: s = Spacer(width=0, height=23.5*cm) as i always want to have only one page, I somehow need to dynamically set the height of the Spacer, so that it takes the "rest" of the space that is on the page as its height. Now, how do i get the "rest" of height that is left on my page?

• Problems with Tomcat server and JSP web application

  I am running a JSP/Servlet Web application and out of nowhere we experienced some random problems that don't make any sense. I checked the catalina.out file to check the log files, and I noticed it contained some of the following messages SEVERE: Error starting static Resources java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid or unreadable WAR file : error in opening zip file INFO: validateJarFile(/home/weremo/appservers/ apache-tomcat-6.0.26/webapps /WMA/WEB-INF/lib/ servlet-api.jar) - jar not loaded. See Servlet Spec 2.3, section 9.7.2. Offending class: javax/servlet/Servlet.class I am aware of what this message means, but am in the dark as to what could have caused it, or what effects it could have on the application.

• Whats faster in Javascript a bunch of small setInterval loops, or one big one?

  Just wondering if its worth it to make a monolithic loop function or just add loops were they're needed. The big loop option would just be a loop of callbacks that are added dynamically with an add function. adding a function would look like this setLoop(function(){ alert('hahaha! I\'m a really annoying loop that bugs you every tenth of a second'); }); setLoop would add the function to the monolithic loop. so is the is worth anything in performance or should I just stick to lots of little loops using setInterval?

• Why is this leaking memory? UIImage `cellForRowAtIndexPath:`

  Hey. Instruments' Leaks tells me that this UIImage is leaking: UIImage *image = [[UIImage alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:[imagesPath stringByAppendingPathComponent:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"/%@.png", [postsArrayID objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]]]; // If image contains anything, set cellImage to image. If image is empty, try one more time or use noImage.png, set in IB if (image != nil){ // If image != nil, set cellImage to that image cell.cellImage.image = image; } image = nil; [image release]; (class cell (custom table view cell) also releases cellImage in dealloc method). I haven't got a clue of why it's leaking, but it certainly is. The images gets loaded multiple times in a cellForRowAtIndexPath:-method. The first three cells' image does not leak (130px high, all the space avaliable). Leaks gives me no other info than that a UIImage allocated here in the code leaks. Can you help me figure it out? Thanks :)
