  • log4net - getting appenders specific to only one logger

    - by andreav
I'm looking for a way to get all appenders attached to one logger instance. I tried: Hierarchy hierarchy = LogManager.GetRepository() as Hierarchy; hierarchy.GetAppenders() as per documentation this returns all appenders for all loggers currently configured. When I try this: LogManager.GetLogger("MyLoggerName").Logger.Repository.GetAppenders(); I get the same result. I would like to retrieve only appenders attached to one logger ("MyLoggerName" in this case) Were am i wrong? Thank you.

  • Visual Studio 2010 Architecture tooling

    - by Tone
Has anyone played around with the architecture tools (uml diagrams, etc) in VS 2010 and if so what is your opinion? I really am liking Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect but am also curious about what is available in VS 2010. I'm not looking for responses about how much you hate Microsoft tools or love mircosoft tools, but more for answers about how useful VS2010 arc tools are for you.

  • LDAP user data caching on local database

    - by Eduardo
I am integrating LDAP authentication in my web enterprise application. I would like to show listing of people name and email. Instead of querying the LDAP server for the name and email each time a listing containing several users I thought about caching the data locally in the database. Do you guys know about caching LDAP data best practices? Should I cache LDAP user data? When should I insert and refresh the data?

  • How can I serve up color-coded Java code using PHP?

    - by Eric
I'd like to embed code from my SVN repository into my website, using PHP. The SVN has public anonymous access, so the PHP code should be fine reading it. The code on said SVN is java, and so far I've had no luck finding a syntax-highlighter to make the code more readable. Ideally I'd like one that uses CSS classes so that I can change the colors to match the look of the website. Could someone point me to a PHP library that highlights Java code?

  • Alert team members of SVN commit?

    - by John
I'm hosting my own svn repository on ubuntu 8.04. Is there a way for svn to send emails to team members whenever a commit has happened? If coding is required, the only language I'm able to use on a linux server is PHP. So I could write a php script to be triggered by svn. Can anyone tell me how to hook up my php script to an svn commit? Or is there another way to do this?

  • Location of Firefox throbber/spinner image

    - by Premasagar
I'm trying to locate the "throbber" (or "spinner") image used in the Firefox 3.6x chrome to show that a request is being processed: I'm not familiar with the source code structure for Firefox, and a simple search hasn't yielded the answer. Does anyone know which file I'm looking for? (E.g. can you provide a link to the file in the Mercurial repository, or tell me how to find it?).

  • Table in DB for generating primary keys?

    - by Sapphire
Do you ever use a separate table for "generating" artificial primary keys for DB (and why)? What I mean is to have a table with two columns, table name and current ID - with which you could get new "ID" for some table by simply locking the row with that table name, getting the current value of the key, increment it by one, and unlock the row. Why would you prefer this over standard integer identity column? P.S. The "idea" is from Fowlers Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture, btw...

  • Web service security not working. Java

    - by Nitesh Panchal
Hello, I have a ejb module which contains my ejbs as well as web services. I am using Netbeans 6.8 and Glassfish V3 I right clicked on my web service and clicked "edit web service attributes" and then checked "secure service" and then selected keystore of my server. This is my sun-ejb-jar.xml file :- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE sun-ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Application Server 9.0 Servlet 2.5//EN" "http://www.sun.com/software/appserver/dtds/sun-web-app_2_5-0.dtd"> <sun-ejb-jar> <security-role-mapping> <role-name>Admin</role-name> <group-name>Admin</group-name> </security-role-mapping> <security-role-mapping> <role-name>General</role-name> <group-name>General</group-name> </security-role-mapping> <security-role-mapping> <role-name>Member</role-name> <group-name>Member</group-name> </security-role-mapping> <enterprise-beans> <ejb> <ejb-name>MemberBean</ejb-name> <webservice-endpoint> <port-component-name>wsMember</port-component-name> <login-config> <auth-method>BASIC</auth-method> <realm>file</realm> </login-config> </webservice-endpoint> </ejb> </enterprise-beans> </sun-ejb-jar> Here MemberBean is my ejb and wsMember is my webservice. Then i made another project and added web service client and again right clicked on "edit web service attributes" and gave password as test and test. This username and password (test) is in Glassfish server in file realm. But when i try to invoke my webservice i always get SEC5046: Audit: Authentication refused for [test]. SEC1201: Login failed for user: test What am i doing wrong? Am i missing something?

  • Alternatives to "Raining Sockets"

    - by sanity
I need to build a Java app with considerable IO requirements, supporting tens of thousands of concurrent TCP connections. I found a library called Raining Sockets which seems intended to make it easier to use Java's asynchronous NIO package, but the last update was 6 years ago. Are there other libraries, that are preferably still under active development, and with a public maven repository, that I should look at?

  • Git: Find duplicate blobs (files) in this tree

    - by Readonly
This is sort of a follow-up to this question. If there are multiple blobs with the same contents, they are only stored once in the git repository because their SHA-1's will be identical. How would one go about finding all duplicate files for a given tree? Would you have to walk the tree and look for duplicate hashes, or does git provide backlinks from each blob to all files in a tree that reference it?

  • Object Oriented vs Relational Databases

    - by Dan
Objects oriented databases seem like a really cool idea to me, no need to worry about mapping your domain model to your database model, no messing around with sql or ORM tools. The way I understand it, relational DBs offer some advantages when there is massive amounts of data, and searching an indexing need to be done. To my mind 99% of websites are not massive, and enterprise issues never need to be thought about, so why arn't OO DBs more widely used?

  • Subversion Deployment tools: specify branch/tag, revision and target machine

    - by Terman
What are some non commercial deployment tools that allows a developer to speficy: a branch/tag, a revision and a target machine to deploy code to? I was wondering if there's a ccnet plugin of some sort that would allow the above to be specified. I know this could be done with a NAnt deploy script. However considering we're mostly using gui tools for feedback, plus the tortoise svn repository browser, it be cool to lear if there's an GUI simple GUI tool/plugin cheers.

  • Mod_rewrite on all website images

    - by Esteve Camps
I'm designing an image repository. I want to uncouple the filename from the image html link. For instance: image in filesystem is called images/items/12543.jpg HTML is <img src="images/car.jpg" /> Does anyone strongly discourages me to rewrite all image requests using PHP so when retrieving images/car.jpg, Apache really replies content from images/items/12543.jpg? I don't know if I may get performance problems.

  • svn: default name for a tag when name is not important?

    - by Jason S
I need to tag the current state of my source tree in svn. My problem is I don't care what the name is, I just need to mark the current revision in an immutable* manner. (*subject to malicious behavior) What's the best way to do this? branches/ tags/ ??? trunk/ should ??? be the date, an incrementing sequence, the repository rev # ...?
