[This post is by Dan Morrill, Open Source & Compatibility Program Manager. — Tim Bray] At Google I/O 2010, we announced that there are over 60 Android models...
I have configured the boot device to cdrom but whenever I reboot the server, it defaults to boot_device=default.
Pressing F2/F8 during POST does not activate the BIOS setup.
set boot_device=cdrom
Set 'boot_device' to 'cdrom'

I am new to ESXi, I am going to be using a hard disk attached to my VM with Raw device mappings that connects back to our SAN.
What are the recommended options to choose?
Where to store the LUN mappings, on the VM or with the Datastore?
What compatibility mode to use physical or virtual?
We are going to be using this for database server in our dev environment.
Does anyone know of a Windows Mobile 7 device aimed at business use?
I’m looking for something with bar code scanning capability.
Psion, hand held, and honeywell only offer 6.5 at the moment.
Granted, Windows Mobile 7 just barely came out and these sorts of devices usually lag a bit behind consumer toys...but hopefully someone can help.

Context is one of the core classes of Android, and many functions it contains are useful in Android library projects, particularly accessing configuration. What are the trade offs involved in accessing the Context in a library, either by injection or by subclassing Application in the library, and subclassing that in the application.
Does this make the application brittle or introduce inappropriate coupling?

<b>Linux Devices:</b> "Earlier this month, an Adobe employee told Apple to go screw itself over its new restrictive developer policies for the iPhone 4.0. Now, Adobe says, it's moving on, officially focusing its Flash technology on Google's Android and other competing smartphone platforms."
<b>ZDNet Blogs: </b>"We use the phrase Tower of Babel a lot in the technology world, often badly. But evidence is mounting that Google's Android project is becoming just that, a failed attempt to unify."
I am looking for the name/type of device which does the following:
Connects to the internet via ethernet or wireless and
then produces a "fake" 3G signal for my iPhone to connect to.
The 3G siginal in my office is very weak or non-existant and I need a way of boosting or replacing it.
Hey,
Somehow I keep getting a not enough resources to install device whenever I try to install the hamachi network adapter, and I tried installing other tunneling services but their network adapters can't seem to install either.
How would I solve this, is there anywhere I can find more specific errors, then just this ?

I know the iPhone App Store limits how large an app can be in general and there are also limitations with AT&T over the size it can be to transmit over a data plan vs WiFi. I have no idea what, if any, these limits are for Android apps and what I'm finding online is a mix of different numbers.
Does anyone know these numbers definitively? The Android game I'm porting is in the 20-30MB range and we'd like to know if we need to further reduce its size.
I want an easier way to change my default sound device from my sound card to my usb headset.
Currently it takes a very precise right click, a left click, another right click, and two more left clicks.
Ideally i could just have it swap with a shortcut key. (it was a little easier in XP but not by much.)
A software solution is preferred, but I am open to suggestions that use hardware.
I am running Windows 7 currently.
Hi All,
I can't sync my phone with my PC, this is the error:
The following appointments failed to synchronize from the device...
I looked for this appointment but I can't find it.
How can I solve this issue?

Is it possible to create a console using the SPI device (/dev/spidev0.0) in a similar way that you would create a serial console, or if not is this possible ??
GRUB_TERMINAL=serial
GRUB_SERIAL_COMMAND="serial --speed=38400 --unit=0 --word=8 --parity=no --stop=1"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="console=tty0 console=ttyS0,38400n8 ipv6.disable=1"
Or would it be possible to redirect input and output to a script or .c binary and have that handle the SPI ?
