  • Android SDK and AVD manager will not run from Eclipse after upgrade to SDK 5 and ADT 0.9.6

    Using Windows 7, 64 bit system. Prior to upgrade I was able to run "Android SDK and AVD manager" from Eclipse via a tool bar icon and menu option, both of which still exist. However now nothing happens when I try to run the manager. As a result I can't start an emulator from within Eclipse. When I use Eclipse to run an Android app, the first emulator I installed is automatically started. Using Windows Explorer, I can still run the manager from the SDK directory in which the update was applied (the update didn't change the location of the SDK). If I run the manager and start multiple emulators and then Run an app from Eclipse, it sees the emulators and allows me to choose one as before. This is a satisfactory work-around, but it would be nice if the manager were fully integrated into Eclipse as it was before.

I do find some example on internet, but most of them are convert with open source library, that I can't use on Android platform. I also find a java class that do convert from UTM to lat lon, but it seems no suitable for TM 2 degreen coordinate system. So my question is: how do I convert TM 2 degree coordinate to lat/lon? Where can I find formula?

I am wondering how can i achieve this in the android market, just like the website http://www.androlib.com/ did? Is there any way to launch the market intent in a mode that will take the user to the feedback / comments section of the page? I already use this approach for linking my demo to the paid app...     I was trying to create a new Class Library project targeted for the .NET Compact Framework. However, when I select "New project - Smart Device" I only have the Smart Device Project template. I've checked the folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\SmartDevice\1033 It contains several project templates: SmartDeviceClassLibrary SmartDeviceConsoleApplication SmartDeviceEmptyProject SmartDeviceWindowsApplication SmartDeviceWindowsControlLibrary None of those are shown on my IDE. How can I use one of those project templates?

I am loading images to canvas like below. canvas.drawBitmap(mMachineBackground, 0, 0, null); canvas.drawBitmap(mMachineRotator, 0, 0, null); I want to rotate only the second bitmap instead of entire canvas. And, I want to move another particular bitmap half circular like earth rotating around sun(in this case only for half circular). Please help me in this.     What's the least painful and most size efficient way to use the Google Data APIs in an Android application? After a few quick searches t seems that there is an android-gdata project on Google Code that seems to be the work of a single author. I didn't find any documentation for it and don't even know if it's production ready yet. An older option, the com.google.wireless.gdata package seems to have been removed from the SDK. It's still available in the GIT repository. Before I invest too much time with either approach I'd like to know which is the best supported and least painful.

    I'm making an Android App, and i need to put a control that let user choose between 4 different colors. I want to do this with something like radio buttons: the problem is that radiobuttons are round... is there a way to set them looks like square/rect buttons, and assign a color to their inside rect area ? If not, how can i achieve that choose for the user ? I need this because i'm making a Todo/Task android application, and i need the user to choose the priority of a task, between for priority level that are rapresented with a color. So i think to do that by showing 4 buttons, each with a different color associated, and a text inside ("0", "1", "2", "3") Thanks!

    I was just about to test my app on a device when I ran into this problem, I'm getting this Linker Error. I've already checked all my compile sources and Build Phases, but there's no sign of my importing things twice. ld: duplicate symbol _calculateNextSearchPage in /Users/wouter/Sites/test/FastPdfKit.embeddedframework/FastPdfKit.framework/FastPdfKit(FastPdfKit) and /Users/wouter/Sites/test/FastPdfKit.embeddedframework/FastPdfKit.framework/FastPdfKit(FastPdfKit) for architecture armv7 clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) This only happens when testing on a device, not in the simulator.

    I don't whether this is even possible which is obviously why I am asking this question :) Is it in any way possible to leverage functionality the Cellular Emulator on a REAL PHYSICAL device?? :) So when I test it on my device, I really do not have to send real SMS(s) to test my MessageInteceptor. On a sidenote, why does MessageInteceptor fails after several messages to intercept messages?? :( Thanx a lot in advance :)

    I know how to get the API level, android.os.Build.VERSION.SDK_INT, but there are also several revisions of each level release, e.g. for 2.1 there's rev 1 and 2. How do I determine the revision of a build? The reason i'd like to know this is that I have a workaround for a bug in Android 2.1 (and 2.2), and this workaround will break the moment the corresponding bug is fixed. So right now i'm in the odd position of hoping that the bug won't be fixed (at least not until I can find an answer to above question).

    Hi! When I connect my Windows CE 6 device to my development machine I get Microsoft USB Sync to register in Windows Device manager. But I cant connect with ActiveSync for some reason. Any ideas on how to fix this? It worked with Windows CE 5, but when we upgraded ActiveSync-functionality disappeared.
