• LINQ query on a DataTable

  I'm trying to perform a LINQ query on a DataTable object and bizarrely I am finding that performing such queries on DataTables is not straightforward. For example: var results = from myRow in myDataTable where results.Field("RowNo") == 1 select results; This is not allowed. Any ideas how to get something like this working? I'm amazed that LINQ queries are not allowed on DataTables!

  Question: How can you use the JQuery Auto-Completion plugin to suggest a location ("City, State") for an input field? Meaning, someone wants to type in "Chicago, IL" ... so they begin typing "Chi" and it auto-suggestions "Chicago, IL". My biggest hurdles is finding a service that I can query to find out all US city+state names. I essentially want to do what the StackOverflow "Tags" input form works but form "City, State" auto completion.

• EC2 persistence of machine

  I want to 'persist' my Amazon EC2 images. My scenario: I have a range of Windows and Linux machines Some machines are EBS backed, whereas others are S3 backed. I need to be able to persist a machine (put it to sleep), preferably keeping all settings active I had them when the machine was running. I need to be able to quickly wake up a machine from sleep [Ideally with an SLA of less than 2 min to turn-on, if such an SLA is available with Amazon]. Here's the stuff that confuses me: AWS allows me to put EBS backed machines to sleep, but not S3 backed. I believe I can put S3 machines into some sort of persistence mode. But this involves shutting down the machine, writing it to S3 storage and then recovering from there (not a real sleep mode, but at least I don't continue to get billed for CPU). S3 backing seems to take a long time to either writing a machine to disk, or to recover (turn on a machine). I can't tell immediately which machines are EBS backed and which are S3 backed? It seems like I can instantiate either type, but it's not immediately clear how Amazon decided whether a given machine should be EBS or S3 backed. Advice?

If you have two classes: class A { @Id public Long id; } class B { @Id public Long id; @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name = "parent_id", referencedColumnName = "id") public A parent; } B - A is a many to one relationship. I understand that I could add a Collection of Bs to A however I do not want that association. So my actual question is, Is there an HQL or Criteria way of creating the SQL query: select * from A left join B on (b.parent_id = a.id) This will retrieve all A records with a Cartesian product of each B record that references A and will include A records that have no B referencing them. If you use: from A a, B b where b.a = a then it is an inner join and you do not receive the A records that do not have a B referencing them. I have not found a good way of doing this without two queries so anything less than that would be great. Thanks.

• Display an Image using C# in Web Application

  Hello again, I have a Web Application that I built a C# class in that generates a Report. This report takes nearly 40 seconds to generate because it searches hundreds of folders for certain files. So I was hoping there was a way to display a "Loading.." icon as this report is generating. I have a gif stored in my Images folder that would be perfect. The research that I've done at this point mostly talks about picturebox's and image controls that can hold the image but I was hoping there was just a way of displaying the image above the report while its being created. The Web Application is from a Web ADF Geocortex website and again I created a C# class that generates this report. • WPF DataGrid bind data between columns

  Lets say I have 2 columns in my data Grid: Column A: Selected, and Column B: Name. The Selected column is a checkbox. And Name column is text field. I want to set the color of the text in 'Name' column as Blue if Column A's check box is checked, and Red otherwise. Essentially I don't know how to bind data between columns of the datagrid.   In the native Mail app, the To: field has a ContactAdd UIButton on the right in the accessoryView position, but it is aligned to the bottom of the cell (which you can see as the cell grows in height). Is it possible to mimic this using the accessoryView property? As far as I can tell, accessoryViews always align in the middle.

• Using matlab, why does something like fts.data work in one directory but not another?
