  • Best practice. Do I save html tags in DB or store the html entity value?

    Hi Guys, I was wondering about which way i should do the following. I am using the tiny MCE wysiwyg editor which formats the users data with the right html tags. Now, i need to save this data entered into the editor into a database table. Should I encode the html tags to their corresponding entities when inserting into the DB, then when i get the data back from the table, not have the encode it for XSS purposes but I'd still have to use eval for the html tags to format the text. OR Do i save the html tags into the database, then when i get the data back from the database encode the html tags to their entities, but then as the tags will appear to the user, I'd have to use the eval function to actually format the data as it was entered. My thoughts are with the first option, I just wondered on what you guys thought.

  • Excel 2007 Save as PDF with pagesize/pagewidth auto or not breaking Excel lines.

    Hi everyone! I tried to export an Excel file into PDF, but it looks horrible. I need at least that one row form Excel to be saved into a one row in PDF. I know that it is not so simple, because Excel does no have any page size. At least, they could make some estimations. Can anyone recommend me how to save in MS Office an excel file into PDF, to have a normal look? Thanks in Advance!

    Let's say I have a Type II SCD database, that is basically append only. I am using NHibernate to persist objects to my database. I have an object like so: Pony |- int Id |- Guid EntityId |- string PonyName |- string PonyColor |- int RevisionValidFrom |- int RevisionValidTo Here's a typical scenario: Pony myLittlePony = myStable.GetLatestPonyByGuid("0f1ac08a-3328-43db-b278-77c272e4fea3"); myLittlePony.PonyColor = "Fish"; myNHSession.Save(myLittlePony); I want to be able to call Session.Save(myLittlePony) and have NHibernate UPDATE the old entity's RevisionValidTo to whatever I specify and then INSERT the modified Pony as a new row with a new Id, basically as if it were a brand new object being persisted to the DB.

  • Changing <img src="XXX" />, js event when new image has finished loading?

    I have a photo gallery web page where a single <img src="XXX" /> element's src is changed (on a click) with javascript to show the next image—a poor man's ajax I guess. Works great on faster connections when the new image appears almost immediately. Even if it takes a few seconds to load, every browser I've tested it on keeps the old image in place until the new one is completely loaded. It's a little confusing waiting those few seconds on a slow connection, though, and I'm wondering if there's some javascript event that fires when the new image is done loading, allowing me to put a little working... animated gif or something up in the meantime. I know I could use AJAX for real (I'm using jQuery already), but this is such a nice and simple solution. Besides this lag, is there any other reason I should stay away from this approach to changing images? thanks.

    Hello. How do I have in each *.pas file it's version, incrementing on each save in some comment line? I have plenty of files on three PCs and I need to have a possibility to quickly check their versions against each other. This problem is easily solved by some centralized version control, but some sources I have cannot be trusted to external servers and are kept on TrueCrypt volumes. May be some addon can do that for me? Something like changing $Version: to $Version: 121212 on each save, incrementing this value? May be there is another way also of solving this problem?

My desired features are that it will size the image for me, let me set the location of my icons when the image is opened, set a custom background/icon, etc. Free would be nice but if there's something that does exactly what I need I'll pay for it.

  • What should be the image resolution for Nexus One or Droid?

    Hi, As Android supports multiple devices from different manufacturers there are different screen resolutions supported. The table that is available at http://developer.android.com/intl/fr/guide/practices/screens_support.... is not very clear to me. It shows WVGA and FWVGA in MDPI for Large Screens and HDPI for Normal screens. So, if the image is kept in drawable-mdpi and its resolution is 320 * 480 then which image will be taken by Large Screens device of MDPI. Moreover, there are two screen resolutions for HDPI i.e. 480 * 800 and 480 * 854. So, with what screen resolution the image should be built. I want to place the background image which looks distorted in WVGA emulator since its resolution is 320 * 480. I have read about nine patchable images but I think they are better for button images and edittext images so that they can stretch according to the data in it. Can someone please guide me in this?     I want to do something similar to what priceline does. It saves the recent searches in a dropdown menu. When you pick one from the recent search. The form will be populated accordingly. (See screen shot http://yfrog.com/5fscreenshot20100501at105p) This is what I am thinking. (1) Save the searches into an array in a cookie (2), when a recent search item is chosen, retrive the corresponding array element from the cookie and then populate the form. What do you think is the best way to implement this? I especially want to know how to save the form entries into the cookie and how to populate the form.

The Image contains many layers.     I have an Image from (System.Windows.Controls.Image). This image is positioned on a main canvas. I want to determine the alpha channel value of the mouse cursor when I click on any portion of this image.   • Looking for a lean WYSIWYG inline editor for CMS projects that includes an image upload feature?

    Hey guys, I am looking to find a lean WYSIWYG inline editor. The main required feature is image uploading. A simple way to upload an image to the server and use it in the content being editted. I have come across a whole bunch of editors but nothing I liked so far. I am looking for something open source and free. So far I have checked out TinyMCE which is free.. untill you need image uploading capabilities. Ckeditor looks great.. uses jquery.. but requires you to have your own server side script to upload images. They barely give any documentation on how to do this. There were a few others, but the bottom line was that I cant find anything that is simple with out of the box image uploading capabilities. Thanks for any advice you may give!

    I'm getting some data from the web service and saving it in the core data. This workflow looks like this: get xml feed go over every item in that feed, create a new ManagedObject for every feed item download some big binary data for every item and save it into ManagedObject call [managedObjectContext save:] Now, the problem is of course the performance - everything runs on the main thread. I'd like to re-factor as much as possible to another thread, but I'm not sure where I should start. Is it OK to put everything (1-4) to the separate thread?

  • Python Tkinter comparing PhotoImage objects

    In a simple LightsOut game, when I click on a light I need to toggle the image on a button. I'm doing this with Tkinter, so I thought I'd just check and see what image is currently on the button (either 'on.gif' or 'off.gif') and set it to the other one, like this: def click(self,x,y): if self.buttons[x][y].image == self.on: self.buttons[x][y].config(image=self.off) self.buttons[x][y].image == self.off else: self.buttons[x][y].config(image=self.on) self.buttons[x][y].image == self.on This ends up always being True - I can turn a lgiht off, but never turn it back on. Did some research, realized that I should probably be using cmp: def click(self,x,y): if cmp(self.buttons[x][y].image,self.on) == 0: self.buttons[x][y].config(image=self.off) self.buttons[x][y].image == self.off else: self.buttons[x][y].config(image=self.on) self.buttons[x][y].image == self.on But that gave me the exact same result. Both self.on and self.off are PhotoImage objects. Aside from keeping a separate set of lists which tracks what type of light is in each position and redrawing them every click, is there a way to directly compare two PhotoImage objects like this?
