• Permissions for Scheduled Tasks on a Domain Controller

  I'm trying to run a Scheduled Task on a 2008 R2 Domain Controller and all was well until I set it into the production environment. I'm running the task as a Domain User that's defined in the "Log on as a batch job" setting. For giggles I also added the account to "Allow log on locally" after the former failed. When I'm prompted for the password after setting up the task I receive the error: "An error has occurred for the task ########. Error message: The following error was reported: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.." I'm thinking that because this a DC that maybe it needs something else?

• SCCM 2012 R2 - OSD Task Sequence failure on physical computers

  I'm trying to deploy windows 7 with SCCM 2012 R2 to physical desktops and laptops. But the task sequence keeps failing, no matter what I try. When I try it on a VM it works fine. However, when I try it on a physical computer it fails. So I think it has something to do with drivers, but I already tried both the "auto apply drivers" + wmi query for model method, and also the "apply driver package" + wmi query for model method. In the link below I added a zip file, containing two other zip files. One is a captured log from a failed osd on a desktop, the other is the export of my task sequence. Download zip-file with log and TS If anyone could resolve the issue, or share their own task sequence for such a task (pure sccm 2012 (R2), no MDT), that would be great.

• Bad certificate error with RabbitMQ using SSL

  I am trying to get RabbitMQ working with SSL on a couple of Gentoo servers. I get the following error in /var/log/rabbitmq/rabbit@...log when I try to connect to the management console using https: SSL: certify: ssl_connection.erl:1641:Fatal error: bad certificate I followed the instructions here: http://www.rabbitmq.com/ssl.html The annoying thing is that I have 2 cloned servers and it is working on one and not the other. As far as I can tell the machines are configured identically. I wrote a script to generate the certs etc. and have run it on both. I am not using client certificates. Anyone know how I can figure out whats wrong with my certificate(s)? I am using Erlang 15.2, RabbitMQ 2.7.9, OpenSSL 0.9.8k.

• Connection timeout when accessing Github

  I have exactly the same problem as described here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12849986/connection-timeout-when-accessing-github So I'll just copy & paste: I have some weird problems. When I try to log in my Github account, I get a "net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE" error. I tried with Chrome, Firefox and Opera. In Firefox, if a clean the cache and offline data, it works for a while. Then I can log in, but I still can't create a Github repository, even if I clear the cache again. My friend, in the same network, with Windows, can do whatever he wants on Github's web site, but I can't. I tried many DNS servers, I tried not to set it (my friend doesn't), but it's still not working. My OS: Ubuntu x64 12.04 Ideas, please. And thanks. Also, I can clone any repo but I can't push. I had to change to https://codeplane.com/ due to this problem, but I want to understand why it happens. • MySql #2002 problem

• Googlebot cant access my site webmaster tools reply Unreachable robots.txt

  When I try to fetch my site as a googlebot in webmaster tools it return Unreachable robots.txt, after investigate I understood google bot can see my server: tcpdump | grep google it return that google can access my server with IP 66.249.81.172 or 66.249.75.111. but there is not any think in access log or error log or other apache logs. cat access_log | grep google or cat error_log | grep 66.249.81.172 Other bot (bing,...) can access apache but google cant. there is not any problem in my robots.txt or its permissions because as you know robots.txt is not necessary so I delete it but again webmaster tools returned Unreachable robots.txt not 404 not found! information about server: Server OS : CentOS 6 Web Server : Apache 2.x Firewall : IPTables is stoped SELinux is Disabled There is not any think else for security on my server. how can I investigate the problem and is there any other command that can help me to find the problem.

• DSL connection not working in 10.04

  I use a wired PPPoE connection to connect to the Internet. What I need to do on Windows to connect to it is put in static IP address, gateway, subnet mask and DNS servers for my LAN card. Next I have to create a dialer for a PPPoE connection, put in my user name, the service name and the password, and "dial" this connection. And it works fine. On Ubuntu 10.04, however, I have tried setting things up in a similar fashion - put in all static addresses for the "automatic" wired connection, then put in user name, service name, password for a "DSL" connection. It worked for a while, then stopped. I have tried putting in all the details within the DSL configuration dialog, same thing happened - it worked for a while, then stopped. I have tried deleting the ethernet connection and only keeping the DSL one with all the numbers put in place, same thing happened - it worked for a while, then stopped. Each of the times, when it connected, it connected randomly, after trying a few times, and either stopped working within a few minutes, or after I had rebooted. I have deleted and remade the connection dozens of times - even with different names, but nothing seems to be working. I have also tried pppoeconf from the terminal, didn't work. I have checked /var/log/kern.log, but nothing changes in the file when I try to connect. I have also checked /sbin/route, but gedit can't even open it (says it can't figure the character encoding...). The "connection established" notification pops up from the top right corner, the same way as when the computer is actually connected to a network. Can anyone figure what's wrong and how it can be solved?

• How do you author HDR content?

  How do you make it easy for your artists to author content for an HDR renderer? What kinds of tools should you provide, and what workflows need to change, in going from LDR to HDR? Note that I'm not asking about the technical aspects of implementing an HDR renderer, but about best practices for creating materials and lighting in HDR. I've googled around a bit, but there doesn't seem to be much about this topic on the web. Can anyone point me to some good resources on this, or share their own experiences? Some specific points: Lighting - how can lighting artists pick HDR light colors? Do they have a standard LDR color picker and then a multiplier? Is the multiplier in gamma or linear space? Maybe instead of a multiplier it's a log-luminance? Or a physical brightness level, like the number of lumens? How will they know what multiplier/luminance/brightness is "correct" for a given light? Materials - how can texture artists make emissive color maps, such as neon signs, TV screens, skyboxes, etc? Can you paint one as a regular LDR (8-bit-per-channel) image and apply a multiplier (or log-luminance, etc.)? Are there cases where it's necessary to actually paint HDR images? If so, how do you go about this in Photoshop (or other software)?

• Can't uninstall/reinstall .NET Framework 3.5 with DISM

  My net framework 3.5 is broken. Verification tool (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx) says it's OK, but its not. Net framework 3.5 can't be just uninstalled/installed on Windows 7. But you can do this by add/remove windows features. For me this doesn't work, I receive thus (not very helpful) error message ... "An error occurred. not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled" I found DISM tool which does exactly same, but have log. And now: DISM /online /disable-feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 1603 error. And log: http://pastebin.com/4jBkEiT6 Any ideas how to do it?

  I am trying to determine why Plesk on my server won't start and I have no idea where to even start (since my hosting company appears to not want to help me out). • Http 400 'Bad Request' and win32status 1450 when larger messages are sended to a WCF service

  we sometimes receive Http 400 bad request resultcodes when posting a large file (10mb) to a WCF service hosted in IIS 6. We can reproduce this using SOAP UI and it seems that it is unpredictable when this happens. In our WCF log the call is not received, so we believe that the request does not reach the ASP.NET nor WCF runtime. This happens on multiple websites on the same machine each having their own application pool. All IIS settings are default, only in ASP.NET and WCF we allow bigger readerQuota's etc.... The win32status that is logged in the IIS log is 1450 which we think means "error no system resources". So now the question: a) how can we solve this b) (when a is not applicable :) ) which performance counters or logs are usefull to learn more about this problem? greetings, Tim

  How can I find out why my Apache webserver crashes? Sorry about my first post. Here is what I am doing: I am running xampp on windows xp. I was working on this tutorial and when i got to page 13 of the pdf version it crashed. I cant see anything weird in my error.log nor in my access log. When i go to my localhost on my machine it straight away crashes. Any Idea's? • Apache no longer starts at Windows boot up

  I have Apache installed as part of XAMPP - local test server. It is configured as a Windows (XP) Service. Startup type is "Automatic". For a long time now it has always started when Windows boots up, but recently this has stopped happening. I now need to start it manually via the XAMPP Control Panel - at which point it appears to start up perfectly OK. The only recent updates to the machine (that I recall) are Windows Updates - none of which appear to have "known issues" that relate to this. And updates to Google Chrome. Any ideas what could prevent Apache from starting automatically at Windows (XP) boot up? EDIT#1 There are 2 related Errors in my system event log regarding the Service Control Manager: Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Apache2.2 service to connect. The Apache2.2 service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. When I manually start the Apache server after boot up there are 2 "information" events stating that it was "sent a start control" and that it "entered the running state". Although I notice it appears to take 19 seconds between the start control being sent and entering a running state - according to the event log. So, maybe 30 seconds during boot up isn't long enough (anymore) for Apache to start??

  I am going to install a new SQL server 2008 instance on my development/testing machine. My machine have one 7200rpm 500GB SATA Disk (C:OS) and one Intel X25-G2 80GB SSD(D:). So I plan to place User database & Temp DB on SSD and rest of it on traditional disk. Is it a good choice for gaining a performance boost in fast SSD?   I have been fiddling with this code for a few days. Mind you I am a beginner. I just want to get my script to be able to download a remote file, and scan MineCraft plugins. I got the scan plugins to work, but I'm having two other issues.   I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I had earlier installed SQL server 2008 with SP1 with Visual Studio 2008 Team System with sp1. • Cannot exit X server, restart, shutdown or drop to tty when VGA monitor active

  I have a strange problem. If I connect an external VGA monitor to my laptop, exiting the X environment in any way crashes the computer. For example, say I am working with my two monitors (the laptop's and one connected to my VGA port) active. Hitting Ctrl+Alt+F Key should take me down to a tty. What actually happens is that the VGA screen goes blank, as you would expect, but the laptop screen, although still on, shows nothing. I know the screen is on because it is slightly more illuminated than when it is off. When in this state, I can do nothing to regain access to the machine. I have tried: Ctrl+F Key (and even Ctrl+Alt+F Key, just in case) combinations and none seem to have any effect. Ctrl+Alt+Del : Nothing Magic SysRq key: Nothing Blindly typing my username and password and trying to reboot/shutdown or restart GDM or MDM: Nothing The only thing that works is a hard reset. The exact same behavior occurs when kiling the X server through Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, rebooting or shutdown. There is no difference if I reboot/shutdown/log out using the WM's graphical menu or if I use the shutdown or rebootcommands. It is also not WM-dependent. I have the same problem using Cinnamon, Gnome 3, MATE and xfce4. It is, however, VGA dependent. I have tried connecting another VGA monitor and have the same problem. I do not, however, have this problem if a screen is connected to the DisplayPort. It is, therefore, a VGA specific issue. To make things even stranger, this only occurs when both screens are active. If either the laptop screen or the VGA monitor is inactive the problem goes away. Finally, this problem arose when I installed the latest Linux Mint Debian (LMDE). It did not occur with the previous release of LMDE. I am not sure what has changed since I used the same kernel version in both releases (I had upgraded the kernel while on the previous release) and, I think, the same nvidia drivers. Oh, and yes, I have updated the nvidia driver. • Multiple CAS servers with Microsoft Exchange and selective authorization

  I have a Microsoft Exchange 2010 organization within one Microsoft Windows domain and I have users accessing it through OWA. For simplicity lets say I currently have one CAS server (CAS 1) which is accessible only through a VPN connection. Lets call the users connecting to the first CAS group a. For some users though, I need to install another CAS server (CAS 2) so that they can connect without using a VPN connection. Lets call those users group b. What I need to achieve is that group a can only log in to CAS 1 and group b can only log in to CAS 2. Now I know that one can disable/enable OWA per user but in my case that is not enough because OWA must be enabled for both groups.
