• Dynamically changing the component of webpage

  Hi, I am working for a project on disaster management sponsered by World Bank, under this project i have assigned work on CMS. and my senior has asked me to make a ASP.NET webpage where those logged with administrator privilege will be able to edit the page. like:- <div id="mydiv"><pre>+++++++MY CONTENT+++++++++++++++++++</pre></div> now if if the admin clicks on mydiv he should be able to edit the pre contents. for this i got many options such as WYSIWYG editors (but they work on textboxs only and further more they cant save the data back to server replacing the previous content) then I came to know about Webparts , but its editing capabilities was so low that my plan for implementing a WYSIWYG editor went in vain. so I m seeking help from u all is their any way to achieve the motive, it would be better if u can suggest something like incorporating WYSIWYG into webpartmanager editor... • HTML5 placing image where i want it on screen

  I have a little start screen running and i want the image, which is acting as a button, to placed at a certain point, but when i try to it stays in the same place, and i don't know how i can get it to stay in the place i want it. • JQuery tools overlay opens at the top of page instead of overlaying in IE, works fine in FF/Chrome

  Here is the sandbox version of my site: http://3.latest.truxmapper.appspot.com/ To reproduce the error, hover over to the toolbar and go to Support -- FAQ. In Chrome/FF, this will work as expected. In IE, the background image will quickly move to the center of the page, but when its time to insert the div over the background image, its inserted on top of the page rather than the center of the page. The plugin example ( http://flowplayer.org/tools/overlay/apple.html ) works fine in IE, so i know it ought to be possible. I've tried messing around with the div placement on the html and with the css to no avail. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Thanks!

• Nesting a SharePoint Webpart inside of a User Control

  I know it's usually the other way around, but I have some extenuating requirements that must be met (read as "No one bothered to do the research and now I have to bail them out") I have a standard user control (ascx) that is to be imported into a SharePoint 2007 website. Due to a design constraint, a sharepoint web part that is also needed has to be nested inside of this user control. So in other words, the user control would have to look something like this: <%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="foo.ascx.cs" Inherits="foo" %> <div id="container"> ...snipped... <!-- SharePoint web part goes here --> ...snipped... </div> Any help would be appreciated. Searching the internet, and noting the fact the html given back by the items is a list i.e. <li>, I thought I could use an example of: var listcontrol = document.getElementById('BulletedList1'); var countItems = listcontrol.getElementByTagName('li').length; However, when I do this, it throws and error saying that no object exists for this control. So, my problem is, and because I must do this clientside because I want to use this to set the height of the div tag, is how do you count the number of items inside a asp:bulletedlist control with javascript?

I'm looping through undefined properties as well. • mootools: $ not defined

  I've strange error i don't understand. I'm just moving my code from jQuery over to Mootools because it's much cleaner than the jQuery mess. Now when i use the $$('div.canvas') in mootools i get the correct element. When i try $(document).getElement('div.canvas') it tells me that $ is not defined. How can $$ and all helper functions like $lambda etc. be defined but not $? Has something changed there from 1.1 to 1.2 and the docs are not updated yet?

• Javascript check all checkboxes in a table / asp.net

  I have a table with rows in, and each row has a few <td> elements. The last element has a checkbox in. They are in a <div> which is set to runat="server". I have another checkbox on the page called "chkAll" that when clicked, I want to javascript check or uncheck all of the checkboxes in my table. I'm not very good at Javascript, so I am not sure what to do. I added a javascript onclick method, and put document.getelementbyid and put in the div.clientID, but I wasnt sure what to do from there. Any ideas?

• Does a c/c++ compiler optimize constant divisions by power-of-two value into shifts?

Does anyone know if the following... size_t div(size_t value) { const size_t x = 64; return value / x; } ...is optimized into? size_t div(size_t value) { return value >> 6; } Do compilers do this? (My interest lies in GCC). Are there situations where it does and others where it doesn't? I would really like to know, because every time I write a division that could be optimized like this I spend some mental energy wondering about whether precious nothings of a second is wasted doing a division where a shift would suffice.

• How to use SSRS to retrieve HTML snippets with embedded images the easy way

  I have a web-app that retrieves reports from our SSRS server dynamically - we hit a URL and out pops some HTML4.0 which I stuff into a div for the user to view. I recently tried adding a report that has an embedded image (in the RDL itself) and the image doesn't make it through. What does make it through is an IMG SRC reference back to the SSRS box but we do not allow end users to hit the SSRS box directly... users query the web-app and the web-app interacts with the SSRS service. There is an option to render in MHTML (note that we typically use rs:command=RenderHTML with rs:format=HTML4.0) - the blob returned appears to be valid MIME but does not seem friendly for stuffing into a DIV... am I missing something obvious? My next step is to parse the MIME, swizzle the references and stuff the whole thing back into the page but I feel like this is the hardway. What is the easy way to retrieve HTML snippet reports out of SSRS with embedded images?

• jQuery carousel click updates selected item in a select list?

  I'm trying to hook up the click event on a jQuery image carousel's images so that it updates a select list in the same document and sets the "selected" option to match the item that was clicked in the carousel. The "title" attribute on each of the carousel images matches at least one option in the select list (title is always unique). • Seam reRender component in partial; reRender across naming containers

  Hello, I'm using seam to develop a simple web app. Using a4j commandButton in many places, with the property reRender="componentName" componentName is in most places a a4j outputPanel Which always worked, until I used a template. with include of two different views. reRender applied to the whole view does work, but reRender applied to an inner component does not. Same issue with page rules, all action I had defined are not functioning any more.
