• In Objective C, what's the best way to extract multiple substrings of text around multiple patterns?

  For one NSString, I have N pattern strings. I'd like to extract substrings "around" the pattern matches. So, if i have "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" and my patterns are "brown" and "lazy" i would like to get "quick brown fox" and "the lazy dog." However, the substrings don't necessarily need to be delimited by whitespace. I have a hunch that there's a very easy solution to this, but I admit a disturbing lack of knowledge of Objective C string functions.

  I am having a similar problem as http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1799684/ant-basedir-slashes-escape-problem except that I'm running under Maven. I'd like to generate cross-platform paths relative to Maven's built-in property ${basedir}. The problem is that under Windows, ${basedir} resolves to a path containing Windows-style slashes. Is there an easy way for me to get ${basedir} into a form that always uses Unix-style slashes even under Windows?

  Hey, I've a TimeZoneInfo object and from this one I want to create a TIME_ZONE_INFO struct. Bias, StandardDate and Daylightdate are pretty easy to obtain. However, I'm having problems getting standardbias and daylightbias. So the question is, How can I get the standardbias from a TimeZOneInfo object and how can I get the same thing for daylightbias (there is a AdjustmentRule.DaylightDelta, but as you can see I need the offset not the delta).   I have some data in this form: @"Managers Alice, Bob, Charlie Supervisors Don, Edward, Francis" I need a flat output like this: @"Managers Alice Managers Bob Managers Charlie Supervisors Don Supervisors Edward Supervisors Francis" The actual "job title" above could be any single word, there's no discrete list to work from. Replacing the ,  with \r\n is easy enough, as is the first replacement: Replace (^|\r\n)(\S+\s)([^,\r\n]*),\s With $1$2$3\r\n$2 But capturing the other names and applying the same prefix is what is eluding me today. Any suggestions?

  I'm following this tutorial http://scie.nti.st/2007/11/14/hosting-git-repositories-the-easy-and-secure-way after this step git commit -a -m "Allow jdoe write access to free_monkey" git push i always failed, with this error fatal: exec hooks/post-update failed. this is from my /home/git/repositories/gitosis-admin/hooks/post-update -rwxr-xr-x 1 git git 83 Mar 10 11:49 post-update so i change gitosis.conf manually from server for adding new repositories, and repos can work fine. i've google what might cause it, i want to admin gitosis in proper way Please Help Regards, REV

• StyleCop SA1124 DoNotUseRegions is reasonable?

  SA1124 DoNotUseRegions suggest that region should not be used anywhere. Is it really reasonable? I think region is a way to group relative code together and make large class easy to read, for example, if you generate interface method in for class, a region will be automatically inserted by visual studio. I would like to remove this rule while checking code style. May I know your ideal on this rule?
