• Wordpress/CSS: List Style Problem.

  Hi all! I am reasonably new to Wordpress custom themes but I do have some knowlege of CSS, although I am terrible at customising other peoples code which is why I have the problem I am about to explain. I have started a website that my girlfriend and I are doing together. It uses the Simplo Wordpress theme which is pretty cool but when you add a post that has a list in it. It doesn't show the bullets on each of the items. I have tried adding 'list-style:circle;' to a the.postItem class and a couple of other divs and classes that I thought were relevant but it doesn't work. You can take a look for yourself, it may be easier to understand my problem that way. If you go to: http://brokeandstarving.com/234/bennos-shepherds-pie/ there is a list of ingredients and also the steps under the method is a list as well. My question is, where do I edit the CSS to make the bullets appear next to the list items? I hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance, - Ben

• how do i implement / build / create an 'in memory database' for my unit test

  Hi all, i've started unit testing a while ago and as turned out i did more regression testing than unit testing because i also included my database layer thus going to the database verytime. So, implemented Unity to inject a fake database layer, but i of course want to store some data, and the main opinion was: "create an in-memory database" But what is that / how do i implement that? Main question is: i think i have to fake the database layer, but doesn't that make me create a 'simple database' myself or: how can i keep it simple and not rebuilding Sql Server just for my unit tests :) At the end of this question i'll give an explanation of the situation i got in on the project i just started on, and i was wondering if this was the way to go. Michel Current situation i've seen at this client is that testdata is contained in XML files, and there is a 'fake' database layer that connects all the xml files together. For the real database we're using the entity framework, and this works very simple. And now, in the 'fake' layer, i have top create all kind of classes to load, save, persist etc. the data. It sounds weird that there is so much work in the fake layer, and so little in the real layer. I hope this all makes sense :)

  hi am using C# with VS-2005 I have a form1 and about two textBox and one Combobox on it. like below textBox1 texbox2 ComboBox I have bind combobox by sql database. first user type in textbox1 and textbox2 and then goes to comboBox in which "BuyerName" available on it. if user not found the data in the comboBox then press ALT+C for opening of Form2 where they create data and save it. My problem is when I closed the form2 by saving data of "BuyerName" the form1 is open as per my requirement but the data of textBox1 and textBox2 which user typed before opening of form2 is lost and therefore user have to re-type on it. which i don't want as it wasting of time. I want when form2 closed and form1 open the data will be available on it. and when u create fresh "BuyerName" from form2 the "BuyerName" will be automaticaly available on form1 comboBox on closing of form2. Hope u will get it. am new here in programing so kindly suggest me by proper codeing. thx in Advance.

• MySQL Need some help with a query

  I'm trying to fix some data by adding a new field. I have a backup from a few months ago and I have restored this database to my server. I'm looking at table called pads, its primary key is PadID and the field of importance is called RemoveMeDate. In my restored (older) database there is less records with an actual date set in RemoveMeDate. My control date is 2001-01-01 00:00:00 meaning that the record is not hidden aka visible. What I need to do is select all the records from the older database / table with the control date and join with those from the newer db /table where the control date is not set. I hope I've explained that correctly. I'll try again, with numbers. I have 80,000 visible records in the older table (with control date set) and 30,000 in the newer db/table. I need to select the 50,000 from the old database, to perform an update query. • JQuery plugin: catch events for clicking/tabbing into and out of an input box

  I'm creating a Javascript JQuery Timepicker control plugin (which I hope to open source soon) and I would like some advice on how to best register the events in the cleanest way. The control will attach to an <input> box and provide a graphical way to enter times of day ( 14:25, 2:45 AM, etc...). It does this by adding a <div> after the input box. What I want is to bind an openControl() function that fires when the input is clicked or tabbed to, and a closeControl() function that fires when the input box is tabbed away from or deselected but not if the control itself is clicked. That is, I don't want to close the control if you're clicking inside of the control's <input> or the <div>. • Visual Studio and .NET programming

  Hi, I just want to ask wheather I am right or not about .NET. So, .NET is new framework that enables you to easily implement new and old windows functions. It is similiar to java in the way that its also compiled into "bytecode", but its name is Common Language Infrastructure, or CLI. This language is interpreted by .NET Framework, so code generated by programming using .NET cannot be executed directly by CPU. Now, few languages can be compiled to CLI. First, it was Microsoft-developed C#, than J#, C++ others. I suspect that this is in general right, at least I hope I understand it right. But, what I am still missing is, can you write to machine code compiled code in C#? And, if using Visual Studio 2005, when I select Win32 project, it is compiled into machine code, so only thing you need to run this apps are windows dynamic-link libraries, since static libraries code is implemented into app durink linking phase. And those dynamic-link libraries are implemented in every windows installation, or provided by DirectX installations. But when I select CLR in Visual Studio 2005, than app is compiled into CLI code, and it first executes .NET framework, and than .NET framework executes that program, since its not in machine code. So, I am right? I ask becouse you can read these infos on the internet, but I have noone to tell me wheather I understand it right or not. Thanks.

• SQL-Server: Is there an equivalent of a trigger for general stored procedure execution

  Hi All, Hope you can help. Is there a way to reliably detect when a stored proc is being run on SQL Server without altering the SP itself? Here's the requirement. We need to track users running reports from our enterprise data warehouse as the core product we use doesn't allow for this. Both core product reports and a slew of in-house ones we've added all return their data from individual stored procs. We don't have a practical way of altering the parts of the product webpages where reports are called from. We also can't change the stored procs for the core product reports. (It would be trivial to add a logging line to the start/end of each of our inhouse ones). What I'm trying to find therefore, is whether there's a way in SQL Server (2005 / 2008) to execute a logging stored proc whenever any other stored procedure runs, without altering those stored procedures themselves. We have general control over the SQL Server instance itself as it's local, we just don't want to change the product stored procs themselves. Any one have any ideas? Is there a kind of "stored proc executing trigger"? Is there an event model for SQL Server that we can hook custom .Net code into? (Just to discount it from the start, we want to try and make a change to SQL Server rather than get into capturing the report being run from the products webpages etc) Thoughts appreciated Thanks

• Synchronizing in SQL Replication works when manually syncing, but not automatically

  I'm using SQL Server 2005 to create a replication copy of the main databases, so that the reports can point to the replication copy instead of locking out our main databases. I have set up the 3 databases as publications and then 3 subscribers moving the transactions over to the subscribers, instantaneously I hope! What seems to be happening is that when using the "Insert Tracer" function, replication take publisher to distributor < 2 seconds, but to replicate to the subscribers can take over 7 minutes (and these are local databases on a SAN). This could be for 2 reasons: The SQL statements used to query the database are obtaining locks which are stopping the transactions updating the subscribers. The subscribers are just too busy for the replication to apply the changes. What seems to trouble me more, is that although the Replication Monitor / Insert Tracer are showing these statistics, if you use the "View Subscription Details" and then click Start, it will sync within seconds. My goal would be to have the data syncing (ideally) continuously, or every minute, perhaps I should reduce the batch size of the transactions? What am I doing wrong? [Note that the -Continuous flag is set!]

The bulletin board will be used to allow inter-office communication within the organisation. I am building the application and have been having trouble extracting the results that I need from my database because I don't think it is properly normalized and because of limitations in my knowledge of relational database theory and mysql. I would appreciate input into the design of the board in general and in particular, ways that the database structure can be improved to facilitate efficient queries and help me develop this application and future application faster Business Logic The bulletin board will be used in the following way Posting bulletins and responses to bulletins Employees or 'users' in offices around the country will be able to post messages to the bulletin board.Bulletins must be posted to a location and categorised- i'll call these "bulletins". Users will be able to post any number of replies to any one bulletin and users will be able to reply to their own bulletin - i'll call these 'replies'. Rating bulletins and replies Users will be able to either 'like' or 'dislike' a bulletin or a reply and the total number of likes or dislikes will be shown for each bulletin or reply. Viewing the bulletin board and responses Bulletins can be displayed chronologically.   I have to Unit Test a method (runMethod()) that uses a method from an inhereted abstract class to create a boolean. The method in the abstract class uses XmlDocuments and nodes to retrieve information. Now my question is, what is the best solution to make sure I have control over the booleans result behaviour. I'm using Moq for possible mocking. • Moving to an arbitrary position in a file in Python

  Let's say that I routinely have to work with files with an unknown, but large, number of lines. Each line contains a set of integers (space, comma, semicolon, or some non-numeric character is the delimiter) in the closed interval [0, R], where R can be arbitrarily large. The number of integers on each line can be variable. Often times I get the same number of integers on each line, but occasionally I have lines with unequal sets of numbers. Suppose I want to go to Nth line in the file and retrieve the Kth number on that line (and assume that the inputs N and K are valid --- that is, I am not worried about bad inputs). How do I go about doing this efficiently in Python 3.1.2 for Windows? I do not want to traverse the file line by line. I tried using mmap, but while poking around here on SO, I learned that that's probably not the best solution on a 32-bit build because of the 4GB limit. And in truth, I couldn't really figure out how to simply move N lines away from my current position. If I can at least just "jump" to the Nth line then I can use .split() and grab the Kth integer that way. The nuance here is that I don't just need to grab one line from the file. I will need to grab several lines: they are not necessarily all near each other, the order in which I get them matters, and the order is not always based on some deterministic function. Any ideas? I hope this is enough information. Thanks!

• passenger won't spawn more than 6 instances despite passenger_max_pool_size = 30

  I have some problems with passenger + nginx and hope someone might be able help me and direct me in the right direction. I've set the passenger_max_pool_size to 30 but passenger never spawns more than 6 instances. I'm loading a webpage that uses ajax to load 30 sub pages from the server but because passenger only spawns 6 instances they are queued. What makes me confused is that Waiting on global queue is 0 but I can see in my browser that everything gets queued. When the first 6 ajax requests are done the next 6 starts loading. • Reverse geocode street name and city as text

  Hello, I have been having some trouble finding a good way to output just the street name and city as text (Infinite Loop, Cupertino shown here) that can be displayed in my iPhone app. This needs to be able to dynamically change as you change streets and city. I don't have the slightest idea of how to do this, I hope someone can help. I have attached a very rough image of what I am trying to acheave. I have found this (http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/services.html#Geocoding) for google maps about how to reverse geocode using javascript, but what I do not understand is how this would be done in a iPhone development setting. I work in web design and I see how it would be done in HTML but I am very new to iPhone development and don't have the slightest clue of how it would be done here. If someone could spell out how to do this I would be extremely grateful. I cannot seem to find what I am looking for by searching Google. • mysql image disable print download

  Hi, We use a Flex AIR client and a WAMP server. Tiff images are stored in MySQL. Currently, I can download the image from AIR client and it prompts for a download dialog. Things are fine till this point. We got a new requirement. Requirement is that only some users can print the image which gets downloaded. For other users, they should not be able to print the tiff image. Wondering how to accomplish this. One idea, not sure if its efficient, is to convert the image requested to pdf at the server side, disable print option there(hope there are API's available) and send back the pdf. Please let me know btter ideas. Also, is there a way to prevent file download dialog from popping up everytime the file is requested for download? Can we just get the file stream to the client and manipulate it to open with a particular viewer or write it to pdf... Please help.

  Hy guys, I've a problem with IExplorer, Chrome, Safari etc.. The HAND font it's the problem. Moreover, IExplorer don't take any customs write in css (color, font-size, align..) • How to enter text into the "Write something..." box on Facebook and click Submit

  Hello, I am trying to manipulate Facebook pages in various ways, using Javascript browser elements. I'd need to be able to insert some text into the top "Type something..." box that shows on my site's fan page (or alternately, "click into" the field and I can type the text using GUI scripting), then click the "submit" button as if i'd done it by hand. It's tricky since the page is very Ajax heavy and I can't find the names of the elements I need to manipulate, let alone how to manipulate them as they're not using traditional form fields I'm used to. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this with javascript commands, which I'd be calling from Applescript on the Mac? Many thanks in advance. UPDATE Thanks for the comments below. Believe me, I am not trying to do anything spammy or douchy, mainly posting links to products that have gone live on page facebook page, but do it during the business day when people are on rather than at strange hours of the day. I am located in Japan so my sleep period is right when people are using FB. The solution I came up with for clicking the button was got using UI Browser, an outstanding tool if you're trying to script on the Mac. • Javascript CS-PRNG - 64-bit random

  Hi, I need to generate a cryptographically secure 64-bit unsigned random integer in Javascript. The first problem is that Javascript only allows 64-bit signed integers, so 9223372036854775808 is the biggest supported integer without going into floating point use I think? To fix this I can use a big number library, no problem. My Method: var randNum = SHA256( randBigInt(128, 0) ) % 2^64; Where SHA256() is a secure hash function and randBigInt() is defined below as a non-crypto PRNG, im giving it a 128bit seed so brute force shouldn't be a problem. randBigInt(n,s) //return an n-bit random BigInt (n>=1). If s=1, then the most significant of those n bits is set to 1. Is this a secure method to generate a cryptographically secure 64-bit random int? And importantly does taking the 2^64 mod guarantee 100% I have a 64-bit number? An abstract example, say this number is prime (it isn't i know), I will use it in the Galois Field [2^p], where p must be 64bits so that every possible 1-63bit number is a field element. In this query, my random int must be larger than any 63-bit number. And Im not sure im correct in taking the 2^64 mod of a 256bit hash output. Thanks (hope that makes sense)

  According to the specification, a part of a PDF document can reside in an external file. Unfortunately, it seems that non-Adobe tools ignore the external stream feature. I hope I'm wrong, therefore ask the question: How to enable external streams in Mac OS X? (I think that all the system Mac OS X tools use the same library, therefore say "Mac OS X" instead of "Preview".) Or maybe there could be a programming hook to emulate external streams? My task is: store a big set of images (total ˜300Mb) outside of a small PDF (˜1Mb). At some moment, I want to filter PDF through a quartz filter and get a PDF with the images embedded. Any suggestions are welcome.

• Details View and integration with TinyMCE <%@ Page validateRequest="false" %>

  I use TinyMCE in a DetailView in in EDIT MODE. I would like to know if there is a solution which can prevent Request Validation to trigger an error WITHOUT USING <%@ Page validateRequest="false" %> for my page. The only way I found out at the moment is to encode TextBox used by TinyMCE using option: "xml" tinyMCE.init({ encoding: "xml", In this way Request Validation does not trigger error but at the time to read the data in the TextBox the result it is Encoded. I also tried to Decode on PageLoad the content of the TextBox using this code myTextBox.Text = HttpUtility.HtmlDecode(myTextBox.Text) But the result is not as expected, so I can visualize it just Encoded text. Any Ideas? Thanks UPDATE I found a solution to my problem. I added in _DataBound event for the DetailsView this code TextBox myContentAuthor = (TextBox)uxAuthorListDetailsView.FindControl("uxContentAuthorInput"); myContentAuthor.Text = HttpUtility.HtmlDecode(myContentAuthor.Text); So on DataBound event, (should work even on post back) the content will be decodene for textbox tinymce. Here how should work: 01 - TinyMCE ESCAPE data inserted in textbox using function encoding: "xml", 02 - Data has been stored as ESCAPED 03 - To read the data and add its content to a TextBox where apply TinyMCE use in DATABOUND EVENT for DetailView and HttpUtility.HtmlDecode (so it will look decoded) 04 - You can modify content in the textbox in edit mode. On post back TinyMCE will encoded again using encoding: "xml" an so on Hope guys can help some one else. But please give me your comment on this solution thanks! Mybe you come up with more elegant solution! :-)

• How to create a platform ontop of CSLA? <-- if in case it make sense

  Hi all! here is the senario, i'm developing an application using csla 3.8 / c#.net, the application will have different modules. its like an ERP, it will have accounting, daily time record, recruitment etc as modules. Now the requirement is to check for common entities per module and build a "platform" (<- the boss calls it that way) from it. for example, DTR will have an entity "employee", Recruitment will have "Applicant" so one common entity that you can derive from both that can be put in the platform is "Person". "Person" will contain typical info like name, address, contact info etc. I know it sounds like OOP 101. the thing is, i dont know how i am to go about it. how i wish it was just a simple inheritance but the requirement is like to create an API of some sort to be used by the modules using CSLA. in csla you create smart objects right, inheriting from the base classes of csla like businessListbase, readonlylistbase etc. right? what if for example i created a businessbase Applicant class, it will have properties like salary demand, availability date etc. now for the personal info i will need the "Person" from the "platform" and implement it to the applicant class. so in summary i have several questions: how to create such platform? if such platform is possible, how will it be implemented on each module's entities? (im already inheriting from base clases of csla) if incase 1 and 2 are possible, does it have advantages on development and maintenace of the app? the reason why i'm asking #3 is because the way i see it, even if i am able to create a platform for that, i will be needing to define properties of the platform entity on my module entities so to have validation and all. im sorry if i'm typing nonesense i'm really confused. hope someone could enlighten me. thank you all!
