  • YouTube: How to Style an AngularJS App on the Device

    I installed the Droid@Screen plugin into NetBeans IDE 8 so that you can see the Android device that I held in my hand while doing the demo below. The demo shows the usage of the Terminal window to create an Ionic Framework application (from "tabs", which is one of the cool templates that the framework provides), i.e., that means I can use AngularJS to create a Cordova application out of the box, with many mobile-oriented components available out of the box. Then I deploy the app to the Chrome browser on Android, which means I can interact with it in NetBeans, e.g., for CSS styling and JavaScript debugging. In this demo, I show how the background color of the deployed app can be changed live from NetBeans. After that, once I'm happy with the styling, I deploy the app again, but this time as a Cordova app, i.e., a hybrid HTML5 application, which means the app is packaged as a native app and deployed directly to the device from NetBeans.   • Can anyone recommend an iPhone dock with PC pass through? [closed]

    I am looking for a dock for my iPhone that has external speakers, a PC pass through, ability to dock vertical and horizontal and accomodate my iPhone case (Oakley case). The case I use is a problem with most docs but if there was one with an extendable connector it would be fine. I really haven't found any docs that work well with any cases. PC pass through doesn't seem very common at all. I don't want to have a seperate cable for my synching and a dock for my desk. Any recommendations even if they are not released yet? Maybe even alternatives to a dock?

  • Why is my iPhone WIFI so slow at home?

    When my iPhone is connected to my home wireless network, the internet is unusably slow. I installed the speedtest.net application; here are some results from tonight: Down: 0.0kB/s, Up: 0.0kB/s, ping: 2230ms Down: 2.5kB/s, Up: 40.5kB/s, ping: 2182ms Down: 0.0kB/s, Up: 20.0kB/s, ping: 197ms For comparison, here is the result from my iMac to the same server, which is on the same wireless network (and has no wired connection): Down: 139kB/s, Up: 53.8kB/s, ping: 182ms Neither my iMac nor the Dell laptop also on the network have experienced the wifi problems I get with my iPhone. On the other hand, I tried browsing a website on the wireless network at work with no problems. EDIT: SpeedTest at work gives me 156kB/s down. EDIT2: Girlfriend (owner of the Dell) reports actually the internet is sometimes very slow. Perhaps there is more going on. No problems with my iMac. My router is a ASUS WL-500g Premium V2 running OpenWrt Kamikaze with X-Wrt Extensions 8.09.

    I'm an experienced web developer in PHP, HTML, Javascript, MySQL, CSS and I'm running communities where people can register to be able to login and do some stuff. Now more and more people are requestion an App, I told them that I have no time and experience to develope Apps with many functions for such complex communities I am running, but then the users told me what would be enough for them and this sounds already simpler to me: An app to install on Android / iOS just to be able to login (+ autologin), so they appear always online in the community when they have internet connection. Then only 1 function like a counter of new activities regarding their user account (new messages, new replies, etc..), and if they click on the app then a browser window will open to read the info at the main website. So, what you think, it will be a big thing to develope such an app for the members? Is there a big diffrence between developing for Android and iOS? How to test the App if you don't have an Android or iOS phone in example?

  • How to remove an email which is stuck in the outbox of the Windows 8 Mail app

    It's already the second time, I have an E-Mail in the outbox of the Mail-app of Windows 8 which is stuck. I don't see the exact reason why this happens (I have no big files attached to the mails and the recipient is valid). The first time I have had this problem, I have not found a simple way to remove the stucked email. I solved the Problem by removing the accounts from the mail app and then adding the same accounts newly to the app. However I'm wondering if there is a more simple way of doing this? Does someone know how to remove an email which is stuck in the outbox?

    I see that Google App Engine apps run on a so-called secured sandbox JRE; that is, a JRE that Google modified and that makes changes to certain JRE types. This is how GAE prevents developers from writing apps that can do things like: Access the local file system via File Make remote JDBC calls Use JNDI Lots of other restrictions We have a similar need where we have an app that developers will be able to write plugins for. These plugins will need to utilize an API (a JAR) that we distribute with our app. We cannot afford for plugins to do certain things, particularly on the end user's file system, and need to modify the File class in a similar manner that GAE does. Long back-story short, this means we'll need to ship our app with a custom, modified JRE. My question: is this legal to do, or did Google likely pay Oracle some fee to modify/distribute their own JRE for app engine?

    I have been trying for 4 days to get app-engine and grails working together on my mac to no avail. I am using latest groovy/grails and appengine sdk versions. Im following the app-engine plugin step by step on the grails site.. http://grails.org/plugin/app-engine Groovy Version: 1.7.1 JVM: 1.5.0_22 Grails 1.3.0.RC1 echo $APPENGINE_HOME reveals /Users/markstim/appengine-java-sdk-1.3.2 I perform the following steps 1. grails create-app myapp 2. cd myapp; grails list-plugins reveals hibernate 1.3.0.RC1 -- Hibernate for Grails tomcat 1.3.0.RC1 -- Apache Tomcat plugin for Grails add the following line to Config.groovy google.appengine.application="myapp" install the plugin for app-engine grails install-plugin app-engine and answer 'jpa' when asked (no errors yet) installed plugins list now looks like app-engine 0.8.9 -- Grails AppEngine plugin gorm-jpa 0.7.1 -- GORM-JPA Plugin then grails run-app and get this error as the server is coming up...   • How can you turn off alternate screen in OSX's Terminal.app?

    altscreen is evil. If you don't know what I'm talking about, see this page for visual demonstration. Problem is, there doesn't seem to be a way to stop it with Terminal.app (under OSX), when you're not using screen. Yes, you can edit terminfo definition, but that's rather blunt hammer. Plus that solution might break if Apple decides to update relevant term's definition in some patch. Is there some clean way to convince Terminal.app to block altscreen usage?
