  • Configure Samba server via command line Linux CentOS

    I am trying to get samba working on centOS... I installed it via Yum, changed the samba config file to: [ShareName] path = /var/www/html/ public = no writable = yes printable = no create mask = 0765 valid users = username Restarted samba and it did nothing.. the windows network is not seeing the share at all. I realize there is most likely something I am missing but I have always done it with the GUI, but unable to do that this time.. Any pointers?

    I am working on a friends laptop. I get no power indicator light while plugged in to ac outlet. Will not power on with just the battery. Might this be a case of replacing the system board?     I'm running perfmon on several servers, and I'd like all of the output to be piped to one particular server. I'm trying to do this over DFS by modifying the Root directory arg on each of the servers and placing a DFS path like so: Root Directory: \\PERFMON_LOG_REPOSITORY\[MY_COMP_NAME] The trouble is that when I make the Root directory dump the logs to a file over DFS, I always get the following error upon starting up the Collector Set: when attempting to start the data collector set the following system error occurred: access is denied

    I can't start amavis. It gives an error: Starting amavisd: Error in config file "/etc/amavis/conf.d/05-domain_id": Insecure directory in $ENV{PATH} while running with -T switch at /etc/amavis/conf.d/05-domain_id line 7. On line 7 is: chomp($mydomain = `head -n 1 /etc/mailname`); This problem occured after restaring my computer. I don't know much about amavis, so any help is appreciated. Regards, Kristian

  • PHP-FPM chroot mail issues

    I'm trying to chroot a site using PHP-FPM. I've been following this post and have done mount --bind for all of those files and folders. When I try to send mail using mail(), it returns false. PHP does have access to usr/sbin/sendmail (which is what my sendmail path is set to in the php.ini), along with the other files mentioned in that post, within the chroot. Anybody have any clues as to what files I'm missing or how to debug further?

    I am using Linux Malware Detect to scan and report on malware, but on a daily basis I receive alerts for malware in users emails (mainly spam folder). I do not want alerts for this, the spam folders are cleaned often, and the users may clean it also. I tried adding wildcards into /usr/local/maldetect/ignore_paths as follows but they are not ignored: /home/*/homes/*/Maildir /home/?/homes/?/Maildir Does anyone know how to exclude folders using wildcards, as it would not be practical to add the full path of every users mail directory. For example, the built-in dir command, as well as takeown and icacls run into an infinite loop with the Application Data directory (1). EDIT I would like to be able to get a text file or at least easy clipboard transfer as output.

    Currently working on a customized webpage that shows the available projects I have in Trac (1.0.1). I am using mod_python to connect the trac interface. I found a standard page for this, but it didn't show listing of repositories. The page showed some variables to link to the different projects, but I can't find variables to the different repositories inside the projects.   • Changing default datadirectory to one on a External NAS or add external share

    So I have been searching the web for days, looking for a solution to my problem. Now my only hope are you guys. I have installed Owncloud successfully on my Windows Server 2008R2. It all runs smoothly and I can connect without problems. So first checks are OK. Now I wanted to change the default data directory from my server to a shared folder on my NAS (Synology DS1813+, DSM 5.0-4493 Update 3). Tried following: changing the directory in config.php I changed the path in the config file from : "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\myfolder\data" to "\NASIP\cloud". by doing this the owncloud server only shows: Code: Select all Daten-Verzeichnis (\192.168.2.4\Cloud\data) ist ungültig Bitte stelle sicher, dass das Daten-Verzeichnis eine Datei namens ".ocdata" im Wurzelverzeichnis enthält. I also tried coping the files that were created in the local data storage, to the share on the NAS. No Luck. Now I tried it by mapping a network drive and using that in the config.php But still no luck. I get the same message with the missing .ocdata file. Now I tried the "External Storage APP" that comes with owncloud I thought that at least I could add the share as an external storage. But this also does not work. tried UNC, Mapped Drive Name (Z:) but nothing helped. So now I'm turning to you.. Does anyone have expirience with this kind of setup? Or can you even tell me how to make it work? (default or external storgae, I don't care anymore ) Using NAS (Synology DS1813+, DSM 5.0-4493 Update 3), Owncloud 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, IIS7 I got an answer on an other forum: The second option is how it should be done: 1. Put OC in maintenance mode 2. Mount (mapping in the windows world) your NAS directly to your OS 3. Copy the local data directory to the NAS mount 4. Ensure the permission is setup to give the web user access to the NAS mount 5. Update OC config.php with the new data path 6. Disable OC maintenance mode And this seems like the right way.. Ensure the permission is setup to give the web user access to the NAS mount I guess this is where I am not sure. What user is it exactly on my Server that is making the requests to the NAS? If the user is for example "IUSR" I can just create an account on my synology NAS and give him full access to my share? (But what is IUSRs password?) I have full root ssh access to my NAS, so if you can tell me what chmod or chown I need to use on my cloud folder...

    You've seen it done on sites like basecamphq.com where you would have username.basecamphq.com I'm wanting to do a similar thing, any subdomain is routed through to the same index.php file. so username1.example.com will request /home/some/path/to/www (in here is index.php) and username2.example.com will request the same file I have it working locally, but my server uses cPanel. What would be your guess at the apache conifguration?

    How can I reset the ACLs on a ZFS file system on OpenIndiana that is exported via NFS4 and replace it with inherited permissions? Basically, I want to do the equivalent of icacls "C:\path\to\folder" /reset /T /C on Windows on this machine. However, neither the chmod command on OpenIndiana nor the nfs4_setacl seems to allow for deleting all ACLs although the client correctly interprets inherited ACLs if a node does not have an own one.

However they never pass the health check (HTTP port 80 path:"/"). Ping is ok on the website. So is telnet on 80. How did the health check works? Am I doing anything really wrong? Are there any applications that will have cartoon classification capabilities? This application should work on Linux, and should take an image path on the command-line and return either 0 or 1 (echo $?).

    I've very basic understanding of linux systems, but I've a server which was setup a while ago to host some web apps. Recently I decided to test out and implement Sphinx but unfortunately I cant get the install to work. I'm running a Debian Lenny distro and when I try to install sphinx it says - checking MySQL include files... configure: error: missing include files. ****************************************************************************** ERROR: cannot find MySQL include files. Check that you do have MySQL include files installed. The package name is typically 'mysql-devel'. If include files are installed on your system, but you are still getting this message, you should do one of the following: 1) either specify includes location explicitly, using --with-mysql-includes; 2) or specify MySQL installation root location explicitly, using --with-mysql; 3) or make sure that the path to 'mysql_config' program is listed in your PATH environment variable.   • Chrooted pygopherd fails to find new directories and files

    I tried to setup a Pygopherd on my server. The default setup works fine, but when I try to change the gophermap to point to a new directory with a new file, I get an error message in my gopher client: --- [1] '/path/to/gopher/newdir' does not exist (no handler found) First I thought this is caused by the chroot in which pygopherd runs as default. But when I disable the chroot, the same error comes up. Did anyone successfully set up pygopherd or knows about a better gopher server?
