  Hi all I'm stuck. Tried all the angles but i cant seem to get it working. I have 2 inline calendars. When i select a date from the dtFrm calendar it sets the date on the dtTo calendar as expected. I just cant seem to set the EndDate of the dtTo calendar. Anyone manage to solve this one? Thanks!   The OS X Lion (10.7) OS runs on mostly 64-bit binaries as reported by Activity Monitor. Given this, and the fact that my laptop runs a 32-bit version of the EFI and thus also a 32-bit kernel, how does the arch mixing work in general? Darwin Kernel Version 11.3.0: Thu Jan 12 18:48:32 PST 2012; root:xnu-1699.24.23~1/RELEASE_I386 Normally one would run 32b binaries on x86_64, but the other way around would require pushing the cpu into 64b mode, which AFAIK cannot be undone.   I have a problem in replacing codes in a dataframe of 3890 observations. My dataframe has a character variable df$IJN which contains values from 1 to 27. I would like to replace these with meaningful data as follow If(1 OR 6 OR 10 OR 14 OR 18 OR 22 OR 26) should be replaced with UL. If(3 OR 7 OR 11 OR 15 OR 19 OR 23 OR 27) should be replaced with LL. If(4 OR 8 OR 12 OR 16 OR 20 OR 24) should be replaced with UR. If(5 OR 9 OR 13 OR 17 OR 21 OR 25) should be replaced with LR.   I want to check the elements above the main diagonal and if I found non zero values , count one. If the non zero values are found in the same column ,then count just one ,not the number of the non zero values. For example , it should be count = 2 and not 3 in this example because 12 and 6 are in the same column.   suppose that we have three array int a[]=new int[]{4,6,8,9,11,12}; int b[]=new int[]{3,5,7,13,14}; int c[]=new int[]{1,2,15,16,17}; and we want to merge it into one big d array where d.length=a.length+b.length+c.length but we have memory problem it means that we must need use only this d array where we should merge these these three array of course we can use merge sort but can we use merge algorithm without sorting method? like two sorted array we can merge in one sorted array what about three or more array?

  Hiya, Basically I have a table which is used to hold employee work wear details. It is formed of the columns: EmployeeID, CostCentre, AssociateLevel, IssueDate, TrouserSize, TrouserLength, TopSize & ShoeSize. An employee can be assigned a pair of trousers, a top and shoes at the same time or only one or two pieces of clothing. As we all know sepeoples sizes and employee levels can change which is why I need help really. I need to be able to select the most recent clothes size and associate level for each item of clothing for each employee. So for example if employee '54664LSS' was given a pair of 'XL' trousers and a 'L' top on 24/03/11 but then received a 'M' top on 26/05/10. Then the values of the 'M' sized top and the 'L' sized trousers would need to be returned. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm pretty stuck :(. Thanks.

• How to generate distinct random numbers per distinct threads in .NET?

  Dear ladies and sirs. I have to generate 19 bit random numbers. However, there is a constraint - two threads may not generate the same random number when running certain code. The simplest solution is lock the entire code. However, I would like to know if there is a non locking solution. I thought, I can incorporate ManagedThreadId within the produced random numbers, but the ManagedThreadId documentation on the Internet mentions that it may span the whole Int32 range. Unmanaged thread id seems to be limited to 11 bits, still this leaves me with just 8 truly random bits. Are there any other ways? Somehow to utilize the Thread Local Storage, may be? Thanks.

  I'm running a day for 30 kids aged 11-18 about computer game programming. They have all opted to do it, but they have no experience at all of programming. My main aim is for them to learn a few things: programming is hard/challenging programming is something they can learn to do being a computer games programmer != playing games all day a little more insight into how games actually work I'd thought of splitting them into two groups, of younger/less experience and older/more experience, then doing slightly different things. I'd considered showing them Scratch, Game Maker, before showing them the basics of Python and getting them to write a simple text based game (perhaps something like, computer picks a random number, you have to guess it in as few guesses as possible, computer says higher/lower for each guess). Does anyone have any ideas of things to do/show them/ways to teach them?

• Breaking up large DataGridView for printing

  Hey, I've got a single-row, 40 column-long DataGridView that i need to print. Since i can neither print it directly (because A4 sheets won't cut it ;)) nor adjust its width to the width of the page itself (because the headers look terrible), i wanted to break the DataGridView to 4 separate pieces and display 10 columns per row (imagine: column 1 to 10 in the first line, column 11 to 21 four or five lines below, etc...). Is there an easy way to do this? I was leaning towards a more manual approach (using fors), but i'd love to know if there's a more elegant way. Cheers

  I would like to implement a way to trace every line of code in an application that is written for .net v4.0. An example would be. • Database table schema design - varchar(n). Suitable choice of N

  Coming from a C background, I may be getting too anal about this and worrying unnecessarily about bits and bytes here. Still, I cant help thinking how the data is actually stored and that if I choose an N which is easily factorizable into a power of 2, the database will be more effecient in how it packs data etc. Using this "logic", I have a string field in a table which is a variable length up to 21 chars. I am tempted to use 32 instead of 21, for the reason given above - however now I am thinking that I am wasting disk space because there will be space allocated for 11 extra chars that are guaranteed to be never used. Since I envisage storing several tens of thousands of rows a day, it all adds up. Question: Mindful of all of the above, Should I declare varchar(21) or varchar(32) and why?

• jQuery slideDown() not animating (jquery-rails 3.0.4; jquery-ui-rails (4.0.5)

  I am following along in the latest Agile Web Development with Rails 4 book. In Chapter 11 (AJAX), the book instructs us to use the following code in the "create.js.erb" file: if ($('#cart tr').length == 1) { $('#cart').show('blind', 1000); } This code causes the #cart div to jump down without any content. After 1 second it appears. There is no sliding effect. I tried using slideDown(); as well, but the div just appears immediately. Out of curiosity, I tried slideUp(); when the div was visible. Voila. The div slid up. This appears to be a jQuery bug and wondered if anyone else has experienced this, or has any suggestions for me. Thanks.

• Approaches to a week long camp programming course (tips & projects)

  I will be teaching a week long programming course to kids between the ages of 11-18. Most of the kids have no programming experience. I'm looking for two things 1) General tips for teaching a camp class (how to make it fun when explaining the difference between int and float) 2) Interesting projects that the kids will be able to complete by the end of the week. Unfortunately the language I'll be required to use is either c++ or Java which means that I'll need to spend more time on itty bitty details than I'd like in a week long course. I feel more competent in c++ than in Java. However if someone can show me that Java is much easier to learn I'll probably teach that instead. My initial idea is to try something like "a game a day" with games like hangman, tic-tac-toe, guess-a-number, wheel-of-fortune, etc. I'll try and update the question text as answers come in to offer more details While there are other questions about teaching programming around I'm looking for advice and tasks that are useful for specifically a week long camp

  if variable is not assigned,then it takes the default value at run time. for example int A1; if i will check the value of A1 at runtime it will be 0; then why at compile time it throws a error of unassigned value; why clr dont use to alot the default value at runtime; int A1; int B1 = A1+10; it shud be 11 as the default value of A1 is 0; there project property where i can check for "assignn defalut values for unassigned variable"; can any one tell me where i can find it;
