  When I select ignore on a files under version control it marks the parent directory as changes, then when I then do a commit, it checks in svn:ignore property to the repository, resulting in another revision. We have two databases, the one is a development database, the other a production database.   Displaying "Type here to ..." until the user enters text into a TextBox is a well-known usability feature nowadays. How would one implement this feature in C#? My idea is to override OnTextChanged, but the logic to handle the changes of Text from and to "Type here" is a bit tricky... Displaying "Type here" on initialization and removing it on first input is easy, but I want to display the message every time the entered text becomes empty.

• Exploded (unpacked) EAR vs. Packaged EAR file?

  In my office we use exploded EAR's (and inside them exploded WAR directories) for our test environments, and then a packaged one for production. I've yet to find a good explanation of the reason behind this though. I understand it's easier from a deployment perspective to push out a single file during builds, but it prevents us from doing things like property file changes without doing complete rebuilds (we could skip the compiles, but our environment currently binds the compile and jar processes together). What are the major advantages / disadvantages between these two configurations?

  I need a unit test to make sure I am accumulating vacation hours properly. But vacation hours accumulate according to a business rule, if the rule changes, then the unit test breaks. Is this acceptable? Should I expose the rule through a method and then call that method from both my code and my test to ensure that the unit test isn't so fragile?
