Is it possible (using Hibernate and JPA2 Criteria Builder [1]) to order by a method's result rather than an entity's member? public class X { protected X() {} public String member; public String getEvaluatedValue() { // order by return "some text " + member; } } What I want to achive is order by the result of getEvaluatedValue().   • How to retrieve Google Appengine Objects by id (Long value) ?

    Hi, i have declared an entity the following way: public class MyEntity { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy = IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) private Long id; @Persistent private String text; //getters and setters } Now I want to retrieve the objects using the id. I tried to manage it from the Google Appengine Data Viewer with "SELECT * FROM MyEntity Where id = 382005" or via a query in a servlet. I get no results returned. But i know for sure that the object with the id exists (i made a jsp which queries all objects in the db and displays them in the db). So what is wrong in my query? Am I querying the wrong field? The Google Appengine Data Viewer names the field "ID/name" and it has the value "id=382005". Do I have to query with this names? I've tried but it didn't work out :(

    Whenever I run this, and open the color dialog, there are many colors that do not having a proper name, the listbox will show something like "ffff8000"(Orange-Yellow). Is there another way of pushing the proper name?     I have a RestFull grails api that i expose through grails Controller. I need to automatically bind the xml data sent in a POST request. I don't think using groovy bindData(object,params) works as the params reference seems not having the xml elements. i use the parseRequest=true in the UrlMappings but yet the params Object does'nt have the xml elements. am i missing some other config so that my params object get automatically populated with the xml body elements?

  • Random select is not always returning a single row.

    The intention of following (simplified) code fragment is to return one random row. Unfortunatly, when we run this fragment in the query analyzer, it returns between zero and three results. As our input table consists of exactly 5 rows with unique ID's and as we perform a select on this table where ID equals a random number, we are stumped that there would ever be more than one row returned. Note: among other things, we already tried casting the checksum result to an integer with no avail.     Curious what recommendations anyone has. I have an existing asp.net forms application that does a Forms Authentication and has identity impersonate turned on. The application has a link to a questionnaire that I would like to develop separately in an asp.net MVC application, but I don't want the users to click on the link and be prompted for a username and password, I would like them to be able seamless start filling out the questionnaire. Is there a way to somehow transfer authentication from one .net app to another? I would like to be able to pass stuff like UserRole. What's the best way to do this?

    I scripted the tables in my dev database using SQL 2008 - generate scripts option (Datbase-right click-Tasks-Generate Scripts) and ran it on the staging database, but the script throws the below error for each table Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 1 Incorrect syntax near '('. Msg 319, Level 15, State 1, Line 15 Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'with'. If this statement is a common table expression, an xmlnamespaces clause or a change tracking context clause, the previous statement must be terminated with a semicolon.     Is there a way to duplicate a db record with linq to sql in c#? Id [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, [Foo] [nvarchar](255) NOT NULL, [Bar] [numeric](28,12) NOT NULL, ... Given the table above, I would like to duplicate a record (but give it a different id), in a way that new fields added to the DB and the Linq dbml file at a later date will still get duplicated with out having to change that code that duplicates the record. ie I don't want to write newRecord.Foo = currentRecord.Foo; for all of the fields on the table.

  • JPA 2.0 Eclipse Link ... Composite primary keys

    I have two entities(actually more but it doenst matter) Exam and Exam_Normals Its a oneToMany relationship... The problem is that i need a primary key for Exams_Normals PK (Exam_ID Item) Item should be 1 2 3 4 5 etc.... But cant achieve it getting errors An alternative would be to: I cound use an IDENTITY and a ManyToOne relationship at Exam_Normals but that should be like PK(Exam_Normals_ID) and a reference to Exam and an extra collumn Item to keep an order.. SO 3 collumns But to avoid the alternative tried I tried with @IdClass and got errors Tried @EmbeddedID everything nothing works Any idea??
