  • Robust LINQ to XML query for sibling key-value pairs

I am just learning about LINQ to XML in all its glory and frailty, trying to hack it to do what I want to do: Given an XML file like this - <list> <!-- random data, keys, values, etc.--> <key>FIRST_WANTED_KEY</key> <value>FIRST_WANTED_VALUE</value> <key>SECOND_WANTED_KEY</key> <value>SECOND_WANTED_VALUE</value> <!-- wanted because it's first --> <key>SECOND_WANTED_KEY</key> <value>UNWANTED_VALUE</value> <!-- not wanted because it's second --> <!-- nonexistent <key>THIRD_WANTED_KEY</key> --> <!-- nonexistent <value>THIRD_WANTED_VALUE</value> --> <!-- more stuff--> </list> I want to extract the values of a set of known "wanted keys" in a robust fashion, i.e. if SECOND_WANTED_KEY appears twice, I only want SECOND_WANTED_VALUE, not UNWANTED_VALUE. Additionally, THIRD_WANTED_KEY may or may not appear, so the query should be able to handle that as well. I can assume that FIRST_WANTED_KEY will appear before other keys, but can't assume anything about the order of the other keys - if a key appears twice, its values aren't important, I only want the first one. An anonymous data type consisting of strings is fine. My attempt has centered around something along these lines: var z = from y in x.Descendants() where y.Value == "FIRST_WANTED_KEY" select new { first_wanted_value = ((XElement)y.NextNode).Value, //... } My question is what should that ... be? I've tried, for instance, (ugly, I know) second_wanted_value = ((XElement)y.ElementsAfterSelf() .Where(w => w.Value=="SECOND_WANTED_KEY") .FirstOrDefault().NextNode).Value which should hopefully allow the key to be anywhere, or non-existent, but that hasn't worked out, since .NextNode on a null XElement doesn't seem to work. I've also tried to add in a .Select(t => { if (t==null) return new XElement("SECOND_WANTED_KEY",""); else return t; }) clause in after the where, but that hasn't worked either. I'm open to suggestions, (constructive) criticism, links, references, or suggestions of phrases to Google for, etc. I've done a fair share of Googling and checking around S.O., so any help would be appreciated.   • Indexing only one MySQL column value

    I have a MySQL InnoDB table with a status column. The status can be 'done' or 'processing'. As the table grows, at most .1% of the status values will be 'processing,' whereas the other 99.9% of the values will be 'done.' This seems like a great candidate for an index due to the high selectivity for 'processing' (though not for 'done'). Is it possible to create an index for the status column that only indexes the value 'processing'? I do not want the index to waste an enormous amount of space indexing 'done.'

    Possible Duplicate: Why do Google search results include pages disallowed in robots.txt? In my robots.txt I am disallowing a lot of URLs. Google webmaster tools says there're +750 URL blocked. The problem is the URLs are still showing on Google search. For example I have the following rule: Disallow: /entity/child-health/ But when I search some-keyword + child health the following URL shows up : http://www.sitename.com/entity/child-health/ Am I doing anything wrong? Is is possible for a URL to be blocked using robots.txt and still show up on search results?

    I am a bit curious about my new domain. I had a domain before, let's say http://example.com/. Before expiration of that domain, I bought a new one with the name http://another-domain.com/. I uploaded all of my content on the second domain, but now when I search in Google about some query related to my http://another-domain.com/ site then I also find my old domain in the results. Will this give a duplicate content error for my new domain or any other kind of penalty from Google?

On the 3rd instance of this class in my application the Column at Index 1 will not display String values. Integer values are displayed properly. If I add print statements to my OnGetItemText method the values show up in my console properly. This behavior is not present in the first two instances of this class, and my class does not contain any type checking code with respect to value display. It was suggested by someone on the wxPython users' group that I create a standalone sample that demonstrates this issue if I can. I'm working on that, but have not yet had time to create a sample that does not rely on database access. Any suggestions or advice would be most appreciated. I'm tearing my hair out on this one.

  • How to translate legacy system (OLE) colors to (A)RGB?

    I have a list of color values encoded as signed integers (OLE I think) in a legacy INI file that I need to translate into (A)RGB values with .NET. An INI example: [INI_Section] Color=-2147483633 Doing something like: Color.FromArgb(-2147483633) gives an alpha-blended version of a color that is not at all what I expect. I think that a value like -2147483633 is supposed to represent a system-defined, or named color like ButtonFace. Is there a .NET method for translating these legacy colors properly? Note that pInvoke to OlePro32.dll is not an option.

  • Is there an easy way to get a list of all successful captures from a regex pre-5.10?

    I know the right way to do this if I have Perl 5.10 is to use named captures and values %+, but in Perl 5.8.9 and how can I get a list of successful captures? I have come up with two methods that are both just terrible: #you need to list each possible match my @captures = grep { defined } ($1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $6, $7, $8, $9, $10, $11, $12, $13, $14, $15, $16); and #ew, I turned on symbolic references { no strict 'refs'; my @captures = map { defined $+[$_] ? $$_ : () } 1 .. $#+; } There is a third option I have found involving (?{}), but it requires global variables (because the closure happens at compile time) and takes the regex from reasonably clear to ungodly mess. The only alternative I have found is to capture the whole match and then use another set of regexes to get the values I want (actually I build the first regex out of the other regexes because there is no good reason to duplicate the logic).

  • How can I get image data from QTKit without color or gamma correction in Snow Leopard?

    Since Snow Leopard, QTKit is now returning color corrected image data from functions like QTMovies frameImageAtTime:withAttributes:error:. Given an uncompressed AVI file, the same image data is displayed with larger pixel values in Snow Leopard vs. Leopard. Currently I'm using frameImageAtTime to get an NSImage, then ask for the tiffRepresentation of that image. After doing this, pixel values are slightly higher in Snow Leopard. For example, a file with the following pixel value in Leopard: [0 180 0] Now has a pixel value like: [0 192 0] Is there any way to ask a QTMovie for video frames that are not color corrected? Should I be asking for a CGImageRef, CIImage, or CVPixelBufferRef instead? Is there a way to disable color correction altogether prior to reading in the video files?   • Apache - .httaccess RewriteRule from domainA to domainB

    Problem: I have a website (mywebsite.com) that was, and partly is, indexed in google. Somebody pointed their own domain (theirsite.com) name to my server and DNS, so it resolves with my IP. Now, probably being an older domain, it outranks me in google, and the pages at my domain are starting to getting de-indexed (probably duplicate content or something). So, for example, my homepage got de-indexed, and their homepage (theirsite.com/) is indexed with my content/code/etc. The same is for other pages (theirsite.com/other/page.html is showing mysite.com/other/page.html) Quick-fix: To quickly fix it, I have added few lines to my PHP code, checking for $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'], and if different than my domain, redirects to my domain. It does the job, but to me it looks like a dirty solution. Question: I could not find a way to have apache to do this job. I would prefer to find an apache/.htaccess solution to this problem (redirecting all traffic from domainA.com/(.*) to domainB.com/$1), is it possible in any way? Thanks

  • Huge dataset point in polygon in .net (collision detection)

    I have a pretty big mesh with polygons, usually triangles but sometimes rectangles. Each point in my mesh has a value (value has nothing to do with coordinates). Now I am creating a second mesh in the same coordinate-space as the old mesh. I now want to interpolate out values for all points (vertices) in the new mesh using the values from the old mesh. Now I could loop each polygon in the new mesh and detect which old vertices are in each polygon by making 2d collision detection (altho even this I don't get to function properly so if anyone has simple and fast code for 2d collision detection (triangle is enough) I would gladly see it). However to my main point again. looping each old vertice for each new polygon seems less than efficient. is there a better way?

  • Hiding php includes from search spiders?

    Quick and simple question. I have 80+ html files which I want to be crawled. They are individual product pages. Each of these pages calls its content using php includes. These php include files are in a separate folder on the server and contain the core content for the individual product pages. I just wanted to ask, if I use robots.txt or .htaccess to prevent crawling of the directory that holds the php content files, will there be no issue crawling the html pages which include these files? What I want to achieve is have the html files indexed with the php content included in them, but I don't want visitors landing on the php content pages, nor have these php files indexed as duplicate content. Just clarification needed as to whether it is safe to block spiders from accessing the php folder, without this affecting the html files being indexed with the included content. Is this the best way to do things? Or should I just leave the content php files to be crawled?

  • Calling a method from within a django model save() override

    I'm overriding a django model save() method. Within the override I'm calling another method of the same class and instance which calculates one of the instance's fields based on other fields of the same instance. class MyClass(models.Model): field1 = models.FloatField() field2 = models.FloatField() field3 = models.FloatField() def calculateField1(self) self.field1 = self.field2 + self.field3 def save(self, *args, **kwargs): self.calculateField1() super(MyClass, self).save(*args, **kwargs) The override method is called when I change the model in admin. Alas I've discovered that within calculateField1() field2 and field3 have the values of the instance from before I edited them in admin. If I enter the instance again in admin and save again, only then field1 receives the correct value as field2 and field3 are already updated. Is this the correct behavior on django's side? If yes, then how can I use the new values within calculateField1? I cannot implement the calculation within the save() as calculateField1() actually quite long and I need it to be called from elsewhere.

    This is a duplicate, however the solution given does not work. After updating to Ubuntu 12.04 from Ubuntu 11.10, all video is now blue, whether playing in a browser or a player. I have tried to uninstall all Flash and re-installed but makes no difference. Does anyone have any ideas? I have done some reading on what URLS should look like for search engine optimisation, but I am curious to know how mine would like, I need some advice. I have a tutorial website, and my categories is something like: Web Development -> Client Side -> JavaScript So if I have a tutorial called "What is JavaScript?", is it good to have a URL that looks something like: www.MyWebsite.com/web-development/client-side/javascript/what-is-javascipt Or would something like this be more appropriate: www.MyWebsite.com/tutorials/what-is-javascipt Just curious because I also read that it is wise to have keywords in your URLs.   • PHP Retrieve Cookie which was not set with setcookie

    I have the following problem - a third party software is setting a cookie with the login credentials and then forward the user to my app. I now need to retrieve the cookie values: The problem is - I can do this easily in the Frontend/AS3 with var ticket : String = CookieUtil.getCookie( 'ticket' ).toString(); but in PHP, the cookie is not within the $_COOKIES array. The cookie values are: Name: ticket Domain: .www.myserver.com Path : / Send for: encrypted connections only Expires: at end of session The one I see, and set before in PHP is: Name: myCookie Host: www.myserver.com Path : / Send for: any type of connection Expires: at end of session Actually, since host/domain are both the same, it should be visible in the PHP script, since it is running on this domain.     I know this is pretty much a duplicate of How can one make firefox ignore my GTK theme entirely?, but the answers on that one are no permanent solution. It works by launching firefox from the terminal. I would like to know a solution that works for every instance of firefox no matter how it was created. There is the possibility to edit the userContent.css file, but the settings you make randomly do not apply to some sites or in some situations, strangely, even with the !important added... I have a dark GTK theme and this results in some textboxes having a black background with black text with a userContent.css that has input, textarea { color: black !important; background-color: white !important; } Update I changed a setting in about:config from true to false, namely browser.display.use_system_colors. Everything appears normal and well now, for one exception: everything that runs on localhost. This includes PHPMyAdmin and a website I am making. I would like to know if there is a solution to this.

  • Convert a string of numbers to a NSTimeInterval

    I know I must be over-complicating this because it NSTimeInterval is just a double, but I just can't seem to get this done properly since I have had very little exposure to objective c. the scenario is as follows: The data im pulling into the app contains two values, startTime and endTime, which are the epoch times in milliseconds. The variables that I want to hold these values are NSTimeInterval *start; NSTimeInterval *end; I decided to store them as NSTimeIntervals but im thinking that maybe i ought to store them as doubles because theres no need for NSTimeIntervals since comparisons can just be done with a primitive. Either way, I'd like to know what I'm missing in the following step, where I try to convert from string to NSTimeInterval: tempString = [truckArray objectAtIndex:2]; tempDouble = [tempString doubleValue]; Now it's safely stored as a double, but I can't get the value into an NSTimeInterval. How should this be accomplished? Thanks
