  • Call inner function of jQuery-Plugin-function?

    - by faileN
    Hello Everyone, I've written an jQuery-Plugin, which I want to use as Object. So I declared some functions within the plugin, which I want to call from any other location, just like an object with methods. Is that even possible? To keep it simple: (function( $ ){ $.fn.myPlugin = function(){ // Here I want methods... function foo() { // do something... } } })(jQuery); Then I want to call the inner function from outside the plugin like: $.myPlugin.foo(); But that doesn't seem to work. So is it even possible? Or are there any other solutions? I don't want to use an normal unrelated jQuery-Class for this purpose. Because this plugin should work together with some other jQuery-Plugins. Thank you

  • I just don't get why there is a glMatrixMode in OpenGL

    - by René Nyffenegger
    I just don't understand what OpenGL's glMatrixMode is for. As far as I can see, when glMatrixMode(GL_MODELVIEW) is called, it is followed by glVertex, glTranslate, glRotate and the like, that is, OpenGL commands that place some objects somewhere in the space. On the other hand, if glOrtho or glFrustum or gluProjection is called (ie how the placed objects are rendered), it has a preceeding call of glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION). I guess what I have written so far is an assumption on which someone will prove me wrong, but is not the point of using different *Matrix Mode*s exactly because there are different kinds of gl-functions: those concerned with placing objects and those with how the objects are rendered? So, if someone could shed some light on this issue, I'd certainly appreciate it.

  • Using template specialization in C++

    - by user550413
    How can I write a function using template specialization that has 2 different input types and an output type: template <class input1, class input2, class output> and return the sum of the 2 numbers (integers/doubles). However, if I get 2 integers I want to return an integer type but for any other combinations of integer and double I'll always return double. I am trying to do that without using directly the '+' operator but having the next functions instead: double add_double_double(double a, double b) {return (a+b);} double add_int_double(int a, double b) {return ((double)(a)+b);} int add_int_int(int a, int b) {return (a+b);}

  • What is this (C/C++) program doing?

    - by guitar-
    It's calling these API functions (advapi32.dll) with these parameters: CryptCreateHash ( 3275488, 32771, 0, 0, 1243424 ); CryptHashData ( 3203040, 'UY30930037661', 13, 0 ); CryptCreateHash ( 3276304, 32771, 0, 0, 46463812 ); CryptHashData ( 3203296, '-585164138661', 10, 0 ); CryptCreateHash ( 3276304, 32771, 0, 0, 46463808 ); CryptHashData ( 3203424, '1db17bd8ef8bcbd734424a9eae818907LOGIN OK³·óéB', 40, 0 ); CryptCreateHash ( 3276304, 32771, 0, 0, 46463808 ); CryptHashData ( 3203296, '1db17bd8ef8bcbd734424a9eae818907HWHASH OK', 41, 0 ); Not sure how it would come to 1db17bd8ef8bcbd734424a9eae818907 Anyone have any ideas?

  • PHP: Remove blank line before text

    - by Bailey
    Occasionally, my email-to-support-ticket system catches an extra line break before the message itself, thus my messages look like this: " Hello. I have been wondering if y..." What can I use to get rid of that line before the text? It is on random occasion due to email providers and the way they format their emails using mime. I have already tried the trim functions but no luck. (Yes, I also tried ltrim) Once processed it should look like: "Hello. I have been wondering if y..."

  • OpenGL ES perspective projection

    - by TimeManx
    I'm having a hard time understanding how glFrustum & gluPerspective work. I understand the concept of perspective projection but the functions aren't behaving how I expect them to. For example, if I set the frustum this way glFrustumf(0, 10, 0, 10, 1, 100) and have a rectangle at points 0, 0, 1, 0, 10, 1, 10, 10, 1, 10, 0, 1 then the rectangle is drawn with its left edge at -5 & right edge at 5, so the left half of the rectangle isn't visible. And if x is translated, I'd expect y to be too. But that doesn't happen either. In whatever examples I've seen, the coordinates for the projection matrix are taken as glFrustumf(-10, 10, -10, 10, 1, 100) but either way, whatever part is shown should be dependent on the rectangle's coordinates, right?

  • Looking for a VIM Book

    - by sixtyfootersdude
    I have been using vim for about six months now. I know my way around pretty well. I know all of the "basic commands", have defined my own functions and have defined some syntax files. I was hopping to pickup a book on vim to read in my spare time. There is nothing specific that I want to learn I just want to improve my general knowledge. I looked on amazon and there are about 7 possibilities. Any recommendations?

  • Are function arguments stored in a closure?

    - by Nick Lowman
    I was reading this great article about closures here and the example below outputs 'item3 undefined' three times. I understand why it outputs 'item3' three times as the functions inside buildList() all use the same single closure but why can't it access the 'list' argument? Why is it undefined? Is it because the argument is passed in after the closure has been created? function buildList(list) { var result = []; for (var i = 0; i < list.length; i++) { var item = 'item' + list[i]; result.push( function() {console.log(item + ' ' + list[i])} ); } return result; } function testList() { var fnlist = buildList([1,2,3]); // using j only to help prevent confusion - could use i for (var j = 0; j < fnlist.length; j++) { fnlist[j](); } }

  • How to Handle Console.log and error output in JavaScript.

    - by uber_n00b
    I have a constructor that has a series of classes and functions within it - in each function I check if the param is set to show the error and output if so. Like so using an inline if. The issue and question is short of keeping two versions is this approach not wise in that each IF has to be evaluated thus adding to the time it takes to perform? debugSlide = (bag.debug==1)? console.log("item id =" + bag.itemId) : 0; How do you do this? Any pointers on where I can find tips on this? Thanks in advance!

  • Call function by pointer and set parametrs in memory block

    - by Ellesmess Glain
    Hi, I've little problem : I'm solving problem with calling function by pointer and passing to it parameters in continuous memory block. My goal is to have function named e.g CallFunc(void * func,void *params, unsigned int param_length); that I'll send function pointer, pointer to function's parameters and eventually parameters length and this calling function will call passed function with it's parameters. I will like write this in C/C++, but if somebody has idea, how this resolve in other language, that supports DLL generation and exportet functions, it will be fine too. Thanks for answers, Ellesmess P.S. I'm sorry about my English, but I'm Czech, thanks :o)

  • Dependent Dropdown inside Joomla

    - by kernel
    I was trying to implement the Ajax method for deploying dependent drop down select boxes inside Joomla. The Problem is that if you call an ajaxRequest to run a php with the query that populates the second drop down depending on the result of the first, this is out of the joomla framework and you can't use anything from the joomla functions. So I need to copy into the new file all the details of my dbase login + to write down the html+php to populate the options. I was thinking whether there is an easier solution to this problem. Maybe the Joomla framework supports something like this. Any ideas?

  • Initializing an array after declaration

    - by robUK
    Hello, gcc 4.4.3 c89 I have the following code as a sample of what I am trying to do. I don't know the actual size of the array, until I enter the function. However, I don't think I can set the array size after I have declared it. I need it global as some other functions will need to access the device names. Many thanks for any suggestions, /* global */ char *devices_names[]; void fill_devices(size_t num_devices) { devices_names[num_devices]; /* start filling */ }

  • Include not functioning like I am expecting

    - by bobber205
    The below gives me a fatal error saying that "mymail" was not found. Any ideas why? Looks right to me. mailreq.php include("mail.php"); $r = mymail("test","test"); mail.php function mymail($body, $reqtype) { //blah blah } EDIT: For some reason, this version of php doesn't see <? ?> as valid shorthand tags. I changed it to <?php ?> and it sees the functions now.

  • why can't you use the debug/release version of a lib interchangeably

    - by user205834
    In C++, most of the libs come in Debug/Release versions. Question 1. What are the big difference between Debug and Release versions (e.g. what advantages do you have using one versus the other). Question 2. A lib is just has an implementation of the functions, how does a function implementation change if you are using debug/release versions? Question 3. Can you ever build your app in debug mode and use a release version of a lib? Thanks.

  • On which Windows versions and configurations does my C++ app run?

    - by saas
    I've built a C++ application using MSVC 2010, default compile settings (note: Using "Multithreaded" instead of "Multithreaded DLL" to avoid the Microsoft C++ runtime being needed). I used only the STL and a few, old functions from the Win32 API (Windows.h). Where will my app run? (98-7?) Can the be any differences on how my app works on different PCs? As said: It's only a simple console app. I'd be glad if you could add some additional information if you have it!

  • between syntax, are there any equal function

    - by gcc
    /* char **mainp=malloc(sizeof(char *)*2); mainp[0]=malloc(sizeof(char)*300); mainp[1]=malloc(sizeof(char )*300); */ *I have some input about propositional calculus *After calculating some math funtion-removing paranthesis-changing"&" with ","-replacing "|" with"," I have >> (1) P,-Q,Q,-R is stored in mainp[0] R,A,P,B,F is stored in mainp[1] *My question is: Between comma , I have want to compare two pointer array. If there is any equal two or more functions(Q,-R is function representation) ,function which you will show me how to write must return int. According to example (1),function will return 1 (I expect like that) /*I have som thought://which function should I have use:*/ in for loop if( strspn(mainp[0][i])==1 ) increment d; continue; or in for loop srtcmp(mainp[0][i],mainp[1]);

  • How to pass multiple params to function in python?

    - by user1322731
    I am implementing 8bit adder in python. Here is the adder function definition: def add8(a0,a1,a2,a3,a4,a5,a6,a7,b0,b1,b2,b3,b4,b5,b6,b7,c0): All function parameters are boolean. I have implemented function that converts int into binary: def intTObin8(num): bits = [False]*8 i = 7 while num >= 1: if num % 2 == 1: bits[i] = True else: bits[i] = False i = i - 1 num /= 2 print bits return [bits[x] for x in range(0,8)] I want this function to return 8 bits. And to use this two functions as follows: add8(intTObin8(1),intTObin8(1),0) So the question is: How to pass 8 parameters using one function?

  • 7 - drupal overriding theme fucntions gettting notices

    - by welovedesign
    So I am overriding a theme function by putting the contents in my template.php module, the problem is that it it throwing up loads of undefined index notices because there are lots of functions that are defined in the module. How can I define these in the template.php file and prevent the notices. Note: I know i can turn them off 'uc_cart_block_content' => array( 'variables' => array( 'help_text' => NULL, 'items' => NULL, 'item_count' => NULL, 'item_text' => NULL, 'total' => NULL, 'summary_links' => NULL, 'collapsed' => TRUE, ), 'file' => 'uc_cart.theme.inc', ),

  • Second largest number in list python

    - by Manu Lakaster
    So I have to find THE SECOND LARGEST NUMBER IN A LIST. I am doing it through simple loops.My approach is I am going to divide a list into two parts and then find the largest number into two parts and then compare two nuumbers. I will choose the smaller number from two of them. I can not use ready functions or different approaches. Basically, this is my code....But it does not run correctly....Help me please to fix it because I spent a lot of time on it :( Thanks....P.S. Can we use indices to "divide" a list ??? #!/usr/local/bin/python2.7 alist=[-45,0,3,10,90,5,-2,4,18,45,100,1,-266,706] largest=alist[0] h=len(alist)/2 m=len(alist)-h print(alist) for i in alist: if alist[h]>largest: largest=alist[h] i=i+1 print(largest)

  • PHP Datediff days involved

    - by user3549835
    I need to know how many days are involved in a date diff. \For example: <? $start = new DateTime('2014-06-29 14:00:00'); $ende = new DateTime('2014-07-02 05:45:00'); $diff = $start->diff($ende); echo $diff->format('%R'); echo $diff->days; ?> The above code echos +2 My desired result would be 4, because the 29th, 30th, 1st and 2nd of July are "touched". I have no idea to achieve that with the given functions. Coding a day-subtraction seems to bean open door for errors.

  • Android HTTP get methods

    - by Nick
    I have written a number of applications for blackberry and am just starting in Android. It seems to me that android has a lot more built in functions. I am starting by recreating some of my BB apps on Android and on one I take a few xml sites and parse them out. On blackberry I implemented this by creating a class that extended a thread. I would construct a new instance of this class with the parameters of my http request and it would call a function back in my main class, sending it the results. I am tempted to reuse my code, but am curious if android has something better built in. I have been looking at the handler class as well as possible using a service. Bascially, I would like to start a new thread that will return a document of a specific url. Thanks!

  • Are there any alternative to the header(); function ?

    - by Simon
    The thing is, I have a log-in page. And, when user enters Username & Password, they must be re-directed to success/failure page. Now, I have placed a "header('location:welcome.php');" after mysql rows are returned. But, it is giving me Header already sent errors, and I don't know much about PHP to do anything about it, let alone understand why it is happening. So, how to you transfer a user to another page after log-in data is verified? Same problem is happening with register, post, comment and search functions in my site.

  • What open source C/C++ audio compression options are there besides LAME MP3?

    - by Ole Jak
    Are there any C/C++ open source audio encoder besides LAME MP3? It doesn't need to be exactly mp3 format, I need a "compressed digital audio file". I do not want to use Lame because it is too big while no programmer can answer a simple question on it (share simple but easily downloadable and readable project containing only needed 2 simple functions... So I'm tired of searching for help with it.. I need something fresh powerful but more readable than this lib I found (mp3stego) ) "I don't want LAME because I am a fighter with its monopoly" Haha..

  • What is an alternative to eval in this situation?

    - by CppLearner
    Many of my view functions do similar things. For the most part, they reverse to a different views upon clicking a button / a text link. So I wrote a helper function render_reverse def render_reverse(f, args): # args are all string type return eval('reverse(' + f + ', ' + args + ')' ) eval is a bad practice, and is pretty slow. It takes 3 seconds to start redirecting, whereas calling reverse directly takes less than 1 second to start redirecting. What alternative do I have? By the way, the function above doesn't work properly. I was modelling after this line (which works) eval('reverse("homepage", args=["abcdefg"])') Thanks.

  • Getting the fractional part of a float without using modf()

    - by knight666
    Hi, I'm developing for a platform without a math library, so I need to build my own tools. My current way of getting the fraction is to convert the float to fixed point (multiply with (float)0xFFFF, cast to int), get only the lower part (mask with 0xFFFF) and convert it back to a float again. However, the imprecision is killing me. I'm using my Frac() and InvFrac() functions to draw an anti-aliased line. Using modf I get a perfectly smooth line. With my own method pixels start jumping around due to precision loss. This is my code: const float fp_amount = (float)(0xFFFF); const float fp_amount_inv = 1.f / fp_amount; inline float Frac(float a_X) { return ((int)(a_X * fp_amount) & 0xFFFF) * fp_amount_inv; } inline float Frac(float a_X) { return (0xFFFF - (int)(a_X * fp_amount) & 0xFFFF) * fp_amount_inv; } Thanks in advance!
