  • Does Quartz2D test intersection of rect by line before drawing it.

    I'm drawing a big scheme that consist of a lot of lines. I do it in the drawRect: method of UIView. The scheme is larger than the layer of view and I check each line and draw it only if it intersects the visible rect. But at one moment I thought, should I do this? Maybe Quartz is already doing this test? So the question is: When I use function CGContextAddLineToPoint() does the Core Graphics tests this line for intersection with layer rect or it just draw it anyway?

  • how do I get the program to Know which annotation is selected and be able to access properties of it

    So far my program can display a database of custom annotation views. Eventually I want my program to be able to display extra information after a button on the annotation bubble is clicked. Each element in the database has a unique entry Number, so I thought it would be a good idea to add this entry number as a property of the custom annotation. The problem I am having is that after the button is clicked and the program switches to a new view I am unable to retrieve the entry number of the annotation I selected.     Hi, i was trying to serialize an ArrayList which contacins custom objects. I`am serializing it in a servlet(server side), and deserialize at the client side. (using ObjectOutputStream,ObjectInputStream) it worked fine, when I work with ArrayList< String but when i tried it with ArrayList< MyObject i couldnt get any results in the client side, this is the exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: web.MyObject *ofcourse that i have done this: MyObject implements Serializable ... MyObject contains only String fields in it. what have I done worng? Thanks, ray.

  • UIAlertView Will not show

    I have a program that is requesting a JSON string. I have created a class that contains the connect method below. When the root view is coming up, it does a request to this class and method to load up some data for the root view. When I test the error code (by changing the URL host to 127.0.0.1), I expect the Alert to show. Behavior is that the root view just goes black, and the app aborts with no alert. No errors in debug mode on the console, either. Any thoughts as to this behavior? I've been looking around for hints to this for hours to no avail. Thanks in advance for your help.   • Detecting when a cell's detail-disclosure button has been clicked (when using a custom cell XIB)

It appears to work... but I think I would do better to actually UNDERSTAND what is being done there. Why isn't line #3 assigning the value TO something? cell = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"TVCell" owner:self options:nil]; (In fact, cell and tvCell aren't being used at all.) Why is line #4 assigning using tvCell when nothing has been put it in at all, yet? Why is line #5 nulling out the tvCell that I need? Why is "@property (nonatomic, assign) IBOutlet UITableViewCell *tvCell;" using assign, not retain? About the only thing I can't get working correctly is when I put a disclosure-button on my custom cell XIB. Is there a way for me to detect when the user has clicked on it? (Hopefully, without using 100s of TAGs.)

    I am trying to call up a modal table view controller using presentModalViewController but I am not sure what to do about the delegate. The following code gives me an error: MyRidesListView *controller = [[MyRidesListView alloc] init]; controller.delegate = self; [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:YES]; [controller release]; Error: Request for member 'delegate' is something not a structure or union Now, I realized there is no delegate property in my MyRidesListView class. So, how would I add a reference to my delegate there? What am I missing here?

  • What's the best approach for modifying PDF interactive form fields on iOS?

    I've been doing some head banging on this one and solicit your advice. I am building an app that as part of it's features is to present PDF forms; meaning display them, allow fields to be changed and save the modified PDF file back out. UIWebViews do not support PDF interactive forms. Using the CGPDF apis (and benefit from other questions posted here and elsewhere), I can certainly present the PDF (without the form fields/widgets), scan and find the fields in the document, figure out where on the screen to draw something and make them interactive. What I can't seem to figure out is how to change the CGPDFDictionary objects and write them back out to a file. One could use the CGPDF Apis to create a new PDF document from whole cloth, but how do you use it to modify an existing file? Should I be looking elsewhere such as 3rd party PDF libs like PoDoFo or libHaru? I'd love to hear from anyone who has successfully modified a PDF and written it back out as to your approach. Thanks!

    Since i'm working with Titanium i realzed that its current JavaScript Interpreter doesn't accept specific coding-styles. So for for-loops and if-statements i have to have braces, even though i only want to span one line. Furthermore there is more i have to change if i want to use a Javascript Library like underscore.js.
