    Hibernate doesnt seem to generate a notnull constraint on a field I marked as naturalID. Is this normal? @MappedSuperclass public class AbstractDomainObject extends PersistentObject { @NaturalId private String code; DB Schema: CONSTRAINT SYS_CT_47 UNIQUE(CODE) There is no not null constraint here.

    I want to make an hibernate querycount on a table. I have to values, one string and one boolean HibernateUtil.queryCount(VoteOnPublication.class, new String[] {VOTED_PUBLICATION_ID_FIELD, FOR_OR_AGAINST_FIELD}, **********); my voted_publication_id_field is a string, and my for or against field is a boolean. What should i put in my second part of the query ? I first put : new String[] {publication.getId(),true.toString() but that didnt work. i think the new String is the mistake but i dont know what to put

    I'm performing a SQL query through hibernate, which looks like: SELECT thi FROM track_history_items thi JOIN artists art ON thi.artist_id = art.id WHERE thi.type = "TrackBroadcast" GROUP BY art.name ORDER thi.createdAt DESC but I'm getting the message that 'Node to traverse cannot be null!'. Anyone know what could be causing this? --EDIT-- I'm pretty sure that this problem is being caused by the possibility of artist_id to be null. However, I can't prevent this, so can I just skip the rows track_history_item rows which have a null artist_id?

  • Hibernate Lazy Loading Proxy Incompatable w/ Other Frameworks

    I've come across several instances where frameworks that take POJOs to do some work crap-out with proxied hibernate beans. For example if I xml annotate a bean for framework X and pass it to framework X it doesn't recognise the bean because it is passed the proxied object - which has no annotations for framework X. Is there a common solution to this? I'd prefer not to define the bean as eager loaded, or turn of lazy-loading anywhere in the application. Thoughts? Thanks.

    I need to find a way of taking a hibernate object and discovering at runtime all of the getter methods that relate to persistable fields. I'm using annotations in the classes but have previously had difficulties working with them (I ran into a 2 year old bug the java developers still haven't fixed). Does anyone know how I can do this please, ideally without using annotations? Thanks. PS - What I'm trying to do here is to update a new object with values from an existing object dynamically.

It appears a lot less simple than I thought it'd be: This is included in the "COTISATION" table mapping an uses SynchroDataType, extending Hibernate UserType. This works really great, and I can't find a way to translate it to proper JPA, while keeping the convenience of it. Does someone has a solution for that kind of one-to-one mapping? cheers

The question object contains id ,question,answertype and reference to a form object using form_id. Now I want to alter the values of Question object stored in the database by altering the value stored in the list of Question objects at the specified index position.
