  • HAProxy redirect HTTPS to HTTP

    I'm using HAProxy as a load balancer and i'd like to redirect any traffic that comes in on 443 (HTTPS) to 80 (HTTP). My site doesn't support HTTPS at all and i'd rather just redirect users than cause any SSL warnings in browsers. All I can find is using the redirect location <to> syntax, but as far as I can tell that requires me to hard code the hostname. The load balancer receives connections for various hostnames so would like to keep it relative.

    post parameters are not getting to the server after it goes through an internal redirect on apache.   • http port 80 slow, while other ports are fine

    I am using ADSL2+, and the sustained connection can go up to 1.3MB/s, but recently the HTTP connection has been quite slow ( other port i.e. ftp, torrent, etc are fine). I am using Netgear modem/router for my ADSL connection, and am using Netgear switches for my LAN (connected to the modem). What can go wrong and how can I investigate?

    I'm authenticating a user in my application with the method "FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie" method, but when I close the browser and reopen it, it is still authenticated, but the session is over already, then my app crashes because it has necessary data on the session to generate the menus. What I want to do is the following: Create an authentication ticket without create a auth cookie to, whenever the user open the page in a new browser session it will request the login once again. How can I achieve this.

    I like to use wcf (windows communication foundation) with windows authentication. Do I need Active directory for this purpose? How the server knows about the identity of the client? If someone can found out the pass of the client that is using the wcf services, can he create the same user name on different computer and use the password to access the wcf services ?   • JBoss: Authentication caches wrong login credentials

    I am using JBoss AS 4.2.3 JBossSeam 2.1 My Problem is that I can login/logout with different users as long as I do not enter a wrong password for one user. If this happens it is not possible to authenticate any user. Authentication always fails. If I delete the browser cookies everything works fine. I have tried to set DefaultCacheTimeout and DefaultCacheResolution to 0 but without luck. Why does JBoss cache wrong credentials?

    Hi I am using Netbeans 6.8 on ubuntu 10.04 and am having trouble installing RESTful Authentication. I have gone to Install Generators, selected restful_authentication and installed it - all messages from Gem show that it has installed and it shows under the Installed tab. However, when I come to use it by clicking on the Generator drop down there is no sign of it. I beleive ther should be a selection saying "authenticated".
