• Copying files from one directory to another in Java

  Hello, I want to copy files from one directory to another (subdirectory) using Java. I have a directory, dir, with text files. I iterate over the first 20 files in dir, and want to copy them to another directory in the dir directory, which I have created right before the iteration. In the code, I want to copy the review (which represents the ith text file or review) to trainingDir. How can I do this? There seems not to be such a function (or I couldn't find). • Convert UTC date to actual date and time

  I have a chart of bitcoin prices. I have the correct prices on the Y-axis, but I cannot get the correct time on the X-axis. The time shows up in a UTC format in my console. I am adding price and date to the series each iteration. I need to get the date of that particular result and find the YEAR, MONTH and DAY of that so I can put it in the right format. • Why vba doesnt handling Error 2042

  I have a variable "fila" with a full line with excel's values; The problem is when in excel I have --#N/A-- vba take that value like "Error 2042" and I cannot asign that value to "valor" and produce me an error, until this point everything is ok, now I am trying to define a "On error goto" for go to the "next" iteration in the loop "for", but I dont know Why vba doesnt handle the error. • Is it still too early to hop aboard the Python 3 train?

  I'm still a beginner to Python, so I thought I could as well learn the newest iteration of Python. Especially since it is now 3.1 or 3.2 something. But it seems like many mayor modules are still only supported by 2.6. Like the python-mysql module; from what I read on http://mysql-python.blogspot.com/ it seems like 3.x support won't be seen in any near future. Do you use version 3, how do you get around these problems? Should I retreat to 2.6? If not, what should I use to connect to MySQL?

  I am very new to C++ and I realise the following is not necessarily as easy as I'd like it to be, but I'd really appreciate a more expert opinion. I am essentially trying to achieve a dynamic iteration over a variable sized array of variable sized arrays similar to the following. String *2d_array[][] = {{"A1","A2"},{"B1","B2","B3"},{"C1"}}; for (int i=0; i<2d_array.length; i++) { for (int j=0; j<2d_array[i].length; j++) { print(2d_array[i][j]); } } Is there a reasonable way to do this? • Dynamic creation of a pointer function in c++

  I was working on my advanced calculus homework today and we're doing some iteration methods along the lines of newton's method to find solutions to things like x^2=2. It got me thinking that I could write a function that would take two function pointers, one to the function itself and one to the derivative and automate the process. This wouldn't be too challenging, then I started thinking could I have the user input a function and parse that input (yes I can do that). But can I then dynamically create a pointer to a one-variable function in c++. For instance if x^2+x, can I make a function double function(double x){ return x*x+x;} during run-time. Is this remotely feasible, or is it along the lines of self-modifying code?

• Why am I getting a TypeError when looping?

  I'm working on a Python extension module, and one of my little test scripts is doing something strange, viz.: x_max, y_max, z_max = m.size for x in xrange(x_max): for y in xrange(y_max): for z in xrange(z_max): #do my stuff What makes no sense is that the loop gets to the end of the first 'z' iteration, then throws a TypeError, stating that "an integer is required". If I put a try...except TypeError around it and check the types of x, y, and z, they all come back as < type 'int' . Am I missing something here?

  Like every commit has a reason and purpose, I think each deploy has a purpose and reason. Source code commits have a comment. But deploying doesn't have any. How do I record a reason and purpose for each deploy automatically? I need to keep a record of: Who deployed to where and what time. Why deployed? Bug fixes? Feature update? Emergency fix not on iteration plan? Which git or svn ref was used? Have anybody felt the need for this kind of system? How do you feel about my approach? How can I achieve my goal? I'm currently using Capistrano for deployment.

  I am doing a program that involves integer and float number.Let say I want to calculate atx={1,1/2,2,3,4} and want to use for-loop. But I know the condition of increment for(x=1;x<=4;x++) as x++=x+1. I want to find the iteration at x={1,2,3,4} and at x={1/2}. But I do not have idea how to modify the for-loop statement; either to make the increment of 0.5 or 1. But if I set 0.5, I will get the answers for 5/2 and 7/2 instead.

  I have several ArrayLists of Integer objects, stored in a HashMap. I want to get a list (ArrayList) of all the numbers (Integer objects) that appear in each list. My thinking so far is: Iterate through each ArrayList and put all the values into a HashSet This will give us a "listing" of all the values in the lists, but only once Iterate through the HashSet 2.1 With each iteration perform ArrayList.contains() 2.2 If none of the ArrayLists return false for the operation add the number to a "master list" which contains all the final values. If you can come up with something faster or more efficient, funny thing is as I wrote this I came up with a reasonably good solution. But I'll still post it just in case it is useful for someone else. But of course if you have a better way please do let me know.

  I'm starting with the two values below: finalString = "38,05,e1,5f,aa,5f,aa,d0"; string[] holder = finalString.Split(','); I'm looping thru holder like so: foreach (string item in holder) { //concatenate 0x and add the value to a byte array } On each iteration I would like to concatenate a 0x to make it a hex value and add it to a byte array. This is what I want the byte array to be like when I finish the loop: byte[] c = new byte[]{0x38,0x05,0xe1,0x5f,0xaa,0x5f,0xaa,0xd0}; So far all my attempts have not been successful. Can someone point me in the right direction?

For instance, in the service layer code sample there is a method public IEnumerable<Contact> ListContacts() { return _repository.ListContacts(); } If instead you wanted a IEnumerable, should it go in the service layer, or is there somewhere else that is the "correct" place? Perhaps more appropriately, if you have a separate viewmodel for each view associated with ContactController, should ContactManagerService have a separate method to return each viewmodel? If the service layer is not the proper place, where should viewmodel objects be initialized for use by the controller?

  Hi, I'm trying to use the Ant task <loadfile> in a loop to parse the contents of a file. I have something like <loadfile srcFile="@{some.input}" property="my.property"> Since Ant properties are immutable, this doesn't work for me. I need 'my.property' to update on every iteration. Is there a way to achieve this? I know Ant-contrib has a <var> task but I'm not sure how to use <loadfile> with it. Any recommendations? Thanks.

  Ok, so im trying to work out the fastest way of storing data on my page without slowing the page load: I need to store information in the page to be later used by jquery. My page is an events page and i want to attach data to each event anchor. there are 100+ events to attach data to. The events anchors are created with a php loop, so i could create the data elements within this loop using either use un-semantic tags ie *rel="some_data"* create a jquery.data() for each iteration of the loop or i could run the loop again, separately, this time inside script tags with jquery.data(); would really appreciate any thoughts on this!

  Hi I'm wondering how I can go about this problem I have a DB with a Users Table, and a Followers table. The Followers table contains 2 Columns "FollowerID" and "FollowedID" I have a 1 - * relation in my datamodel between Users.ID -> Followers.FollowerID and Users.ID -> FollowedID How do I in LINQ get a set of users that are following a specific user? I'll express what I'm trying to achieve programatically I can get this far: ctx.Followers.Where(f => f.FollowedID == CurrentUser.ID) so now i have a Followers set where I have the ID of the users that follow the CurrentUser, and I could iterate through this collection and then add users after each iteration to a collection that would be a total USER collection that followed CurrentUser, but isn't there a smarter, or LINQ'er way to do this?   In C# (console app) I want to hold a collection of objects. All objects are of same type. I want to iterate through the collection calling a method on each object. And then repeat the process continuously. However during iteration objects can be added or removed from the list. (The objects themselves will not be destroyed .. just removed from the list). Not sure what would happen with a foreach loop .. or other similar method. This has to have been done 1000 times before .. can you recommend a solid approach?

• Force freeing memory in PHP

  Hi everybody, in a PHP program, I sequentially read a bunch of files (with file_get_contents), gzdecode them, json_decode the result, analyze the contents, throw the most of it away, and store about 1% in an array. Unfortunately, with each iteration (I traverse over an array containing the filenames), there seems to be some memory lost (according to memory_get_peak_usage, about 2-10 MB each time). I have double- and triplechecked my code, I am not storing unneded data in the loop (and the needed data hardly exceeds about 10MB overall), but I am frequently rewriting (actually, strings in an array). Apparently, PHP does not free the memory correctly, thus using more and more RAM until it hits the limit. Is there any way to do a forced garbage collection? Or, at least, to find out where the memory is used? Thanks in advance, Dmitri

Assuming that the app has got 11 .xcdatamodel versions inside, where ***11.xcdatamodel is the current one, what would happen now since the persistent store of the user is ages old? would the migration happen 10 times, step-by-step through every migration iteration? Or does the actual migration of data (lets assume gigabytes of data) happen exactly once, after Core Data (or the persistent store coordinator) has figured out precisely what to do to go from v.1.0 to v.11.0?

  Consider the following code: [Test] public void WidgetTest() { foreach (Widget widget in widgets) { Assert.AreEqual(0, widget.SomeValue); } } If one of the asserts fails, I will get a very unhelpful error message like the one below: 1) Test Failure : WidgetTest.TestSomeValue Expected: 0 But was: 1 at WidgetTest.TestSomeValue() So, the question is, how can I get NUnit to display more useful info, such as the name of the widget, or the iteration of the loop, etc? Even a line number would be more helpful, since this is run in automated manner and I'd like to be able to spot the failing assert without debugging into the code.
