  • Project Euler 7: (Iron)Python

    - by Ben Griswold
In my attempt to learn (Iron)Python out in the open, here’s my solution for Project Euler Problem 7.  As always, any feedback is welcome. # Euler 7 # http://projecteuler.net/index.php?section=problems&id=7 # By listing the first six prime numbers: 2, 3, 5, 7, # 11, and 13, we can see that the 6th prime is 13. What # is the 10001st prime number? import time start = time.time() def nthPrime(nth): primes = [2] number = 3 while len(primes) < nth: isPrime = True for prime in primes: if number % prime == 0: isPrime = False break if (prime * prime > number): break if isPrime: primes.append(number) number += 2 return primes[nth - 1] print nthPrime(10001) print "Elapsed Time:", (time.time() - start) * 1000, "millisecs" a=raw_input('Press return to continue')

can someone please help me with the analysis of the following function (for inputs of size n). • How to Get Vine App for Windows Phone in Canada

I went to the app’s page on the app store where I saw this: One of my Twitter peeps from Winnipeg, Len, commented that he was able to install it from the website. So I went back and noticed that there’s a “Download and Install Manually” link towards the bottom of the page, which will let you download the .XAP file directly. So I emailed myself the link, opened it on my phone, and voila – Vine is now installed! What’s the point of limiting apps by region if we can just manually download and install the file anyway? Weird. D

  • redimension multidimensional arrays in Excel VBA [migrated]

    - by user147178
Take a look at the following code. What my problem is is that I can't figure out how to redimension the n integer and the b integer. What I'm doing is the array sent1 is already working and it is populated with about 4 sentences. I need to go through each sentence and work on it but I'm having trouble. dim sent1() dim sent2() dim n as integer, b as integer, x as integer dim temp_sent as string b = 0 For n = 1 to ubound(sent1) temp_sent = sent1(n) for x = 1 to len(temp_sent1) code if a then b = b + 1 THIS IS THE PART OF THE CODE THAT IS NOT WORKING redim preserve sent2(1 to ubound(sent1), b) sent2(n,b) = [code] next next

  • Can't seem to get C TCP Server-Client Communications Right

    - by Zeesponge
    Ok i need some serious help here. I have to make a TCP Server Client. When the Client connects to server using a three stage handshake. AFterwards... while the Client is running in the terminal, the user enters linux shell commands like xinput list, ls -1, ect... something that uses standard output. The server accepts the commands and uses system() (in a fork() in an infinite loop) to run the commands and the standard output is redirected to the client, where the client prints out each line. Afterward the server sends a completion signal of "\377\n". In which the client goes back to the command prompt asking for a new command and closes its connection and exit()'s when inputting "quit". I know that you have to dup2() both the STDOUT_FILENO and STDERR_FILENO to the clients file descriptor {dup2(client_FD, STDOUT_FILENO). Everything works accept when it comes for the client to retrieve system()'s stdout and printing it out... all i get is a blank line with a blinking cursor (client waiting on stdin). I tried all kinds of different routes with no avail... If anyone can help out i would greatly appreciate it TCP SERVER CODE include #include <sys/socket.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> #include <netinet/in.h> #include <signal.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <errno.h> //Prototype void handle_client(int connect_fd); int main() { int server_sockfd, client_sockfd; socklen_t server_len, client_len; struct sockaddr_in server_address; struct sockaddr_in client_address; server_sockfd = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 0); server_address.sin_family = AF_INET; server_address.sin_addr.s_addr = htonl(INADDR_ANY); server_address.sin_port = htons(9734); server_len = sizeof(server_address); bind(server_sockfd, (struct sockaddr *)&server_address, server_len); /* Create a connection queue, ignore child exit details and wait for clients. */ listen(server_sockfd, 10); signal(SIGCHLD, SIG_IGN); while(1) { printf("server waiting\n"); client_len = sizeof(client_address); client_sockfd = accept(server_sockfd, (struct sockaddr *)&client_address, &client_len); if(fork() == 0) handle_client(client_sockfd); else close(client_sockfd); } } void handle_client(int connect_fd) { const char* remsh = "<remsh>\n"; const char* ready = "<ready>\n"; const char* ok = "<ok>\n"; const char* command = "<command>\n"; const char* complete = "<\377\n"; const char* shared_secret = "<shapoopi>\n"; static char server_msg[201]; static char client_msg[201]; static char commands[201]; int sys_return; //memset client_msg, server_msg, commands memset(&client_msg, 0, sizeof(client_msg)); memset(&server_msg, 0, sizeof(client_msg)); memset(&commands, 0, sizeof(commands)); //read remsh from client read(connect_fd, &client_msg, 200); //check remsh validity from client if(strcmp(client_msg, remsh) != 0) { errno++; perror("Error Establishing Handshake"); close(connect_fd); exit(1); } //memset client_msg memset(&client_msg, 0, sizeof(client_msg)); //write remsh to client write(connect_fd, remsh, strlen(remsh)); //read shared_secret from client read(connect_fd, &client_msg, 200); //check shared_secret validity from client if(strcmp(client_msg, shared_secret) != 0) { errno++; perror("Invalid Security Passphrase"); write(connect_fd, "no", 2); close(connect_fd); exit(1); } //memset client_msg memset(&client_msg, 0, sizeof(client_msg)); //write ok to client write(connect_fd, ok, strlen(ok)); // dup2 STDOUT_FILENO <= client fd, STDERR_FILENO <= client fd dup2(connect_fd, STDOUT_FILENO); dup2(connect_fd, STDERR_FILENO); //begin while... while read (client_msg) from server and >0 while(read(connect_fd, &client_msg, 200) > 0) { //check command validity from client if(strcmp(client_msg, command) != 0) { errno++; perror("Error, unable to retrieve data"); close(connect_fd); exit(1); } //memset client_msg memset(&client_msg, 0, sizeof(client_msg)); //write ready to client write(connect_fd, ready, strlen(ready)); //read commands from client read(connect_fd, &commands, 200); //run commands using system( ) sys_return = system(commands); //check success of system( ) if(sys_return < 0) { perror("Invalid Commands"); errno++; } //memset commands memset(commands, 0, sizeof(commands)); //write complete to client write(connect_fd, complete, sizeof(complete)); } } TCP CLIENT CODE #include <sys/types.h> #include <sys/socket.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> #include <netinet/in.h> #include <arpa/inet.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <errno.h> #include "readline.c" int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { int sockfd; int len; struct sockaddr_in address; int result; const char* remsh = "<remsh>\n"; const char* ready = "<ready>\n"; const char* ok = "<ok>\n"; const char* command = "<command>\n"; const char* complete = "<\377\n"; const char* shared_secret = "<shapoopi>\n"; static char server_msg[201]; static char client_msg[201]; memset(&client_msg, 0, sizeof(client_msg)); memset(&server_msg, 0, sizeof(server_msg)); /* Create a socket for the client. */ sockfd = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 0); /* Name the socket, as agreed with the server. */ memset(&address, 0, sizeof(address)); address.sin_family = AF_INET; address.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr(argv[1]); address.sin_port = htons(9734); len = sizeof(address); /* Now connect our socket to the server's socket. */ result = connect(sockfd, (struct sockaddr *)&address, len); if(result == -1) { perror("ACCESS DENIED"); exit(1); } //write remsh to server write(sockfd, remsh, strlen(remsh)); //read remsh from server read(sockfd, &server_msg, 200); //check remsh validity from server if(strcmp(server_msg, remsh) != 0) { errno++; perror("Error Establishing Initial Handshake"); close(sockfd); exit(1); } //memset server_msg memset(&server_msg, 0, sizeof(server_msg)); //write shared secret text to server write(sockfd, shared_secret, strlen(shared_secret)); //read ok from server read(sockfd, &server_msg, 200); //check ok velidity from server if(strcmp(server_msg, ok) != 0 ) { errno++; perror("Incorrect security phrase"); close(sockfd); exit(1); } //?   • Python Ctypes Read/WriteProcessMemory() - Error 5/998 Help!

    - by user299805
Please don't get scared but the following code, if you are familiar with ctypes or C it should be easy to read. I have been trying to get my ReadProcessMemory() and WriteProcessMemory() functions to be working for so long and have tried almost every possibility but the right one. It launches the target program, returns its PID and handle just fine. But I always get a error code of 5 - ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. When I run the read function(forget the write for now). I am launching this program as what I believe to be a CHILD process with PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS or CREATE_PRESERVE_CODE_AUTHZ_LEVEL. I have also tried PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS and PROCESS_VM_READ when I open the handle. I can also say that it is a valid memory location because I can find it on the running program with CheatEngine. As for VirtualQuery() I get an error code of 998 - ERROR_NOACCESS which further confirms my suspicion of it being some security/privilege problem. Any help or ideas would be very appreciated, again, it's my whole program so far, don't let it scare you =P. from ctypes import * from ctypes.wintypes import BOOL import binascii BYTE = c_ubyte WORD = c_ushort DWORD = c_ulong LPBYTE = POINTER(c_ubyte) LPTSTR = POINTER(c_char) HANDLE = c_void_p PVOID = c_void_p LPVOID = c_void_p UNIT_PTR = c_ulong SIZE_T = c_ulong class STARTUPINFO(Structure): _fields_ = [("cb", DWORD), ("lpReserved", LPTSTR), ("lpDesktop", LPTSTR), ("lpTitle", LPTSTR), ("dwX", DWORD), ("dwY", DWORD), ("dwXSize", DWORD), ("dwYSize", DWORD), ("dwXCountChars", DWORD), ("dwYCountChars", DWORD), ("dwFillAttribute",DWORD), ("dwFlags", DWORD), ("wShowWindow", WORD), ("cbReserved2", WORD), ("lpReserved2", LPBYTE), ("hStdInput", HANDLE), ("hStdOutput", HANDLE), ("hStdError", HANDLE),] class PROCESS_INFORMATION(Structure): _fields_ = [("hProcess", HANDLE), ("hThread", HANDLE), ("dwProcessId", DWORD), ("dwThreadId", DWORD),] class MEMORY_BASIC_INFORMATION(Structure): _fields_ = [("BaseAddress", PVOID), ("AllocationBase", PVOID), ("AllocationProtect", DWORD), ("RegionSize", SIZE_T), ("State", DWORD), ("Protect", DWORD), ("Type", DWORD),] class SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES(Structure): _fields_ = [("Length", DWORD), ("SecDescriptor", LPVOID), ("InheritHandle", BOOL)] class Main(): def __init__(self): self.h_process = None self.pid = None def launch(self, path_to_exe): CREATE_NEW_CONSOLE = 0x00000010 CREATE_PRESERVE_CODE_AUTHZ_LEVEL = 0x02000000 startupinfo = STARTUPINFO() process_information = PROCESS_INFORMATION() security_attributes = SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES() startupinfo.dwFlags = 0x1 startupinfo.wShowWindow = 0x0 startupinfo.cb = sizeof(startupinfo) security_attributes.Length = sizeof(security_attributes) security_attributes.SecDescriptior = None security_attributes.InheritHandle = True if windll.kernel32.CreateProcessA(path_to_exe, None, byref(security_attributes), byref(security_attributes), True, CREATE_PRESERVE_CODE_AUTHZ_LEVEL, None, None, byref(startupinfo), byref(process_information)): self.pid = process_information.dwProcessId print "Success: CreateProcess - ", path_to_exe else: print "Failed: Create Process - Error code: ", windll.kernel32.GetLastError() def get_handle(self, pid): PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS = 0x001F0FFF PROCESS_VM_READ = 0x0010 self.h_process = windll.kernel32.OpenProcess(PROCESS_VM_READ, False, pid) if self.h_process: print "Success: Got Handle - PID:", self.pid else: print "Failed: Get Handle - Error code: ", windll.kernel32.GetLastError() windll.kernel32.SetLastError(10000) def read_memory(self, address): buffer = c_char_p("The data goes here") bufferSize = len(buffer.value) bytesRead = c_ulong(0) if windll.kernel32.ReadProcessMemory(self.h_process, address, buffer, bufferSize, byref(bytesRead)): print "Success: Read Memory - ", buffer.value else: print "Failed: Read Memory - Error Code: ", windll.kernel32.GetLastError() windll.kernel32.CloseHandle(self.h_process) windll.kernel32.SetLastError(10000) def write_memory(self, address, data): count = c_ulong(0) length = len(data) c_data = c_char_p(data[count.value:]) null = c_int(0) if not windll.kernel32.WriteProcessMemory(self.h_process, address, c_data, length, byref(count)): print "Failed: Write Memory - Error Code: ", windll.kernel32.GetLastError() windll.kernel32.SetLastError(10000) else: return False def virtual_query(self, address): basic_memory_info = MEMORY_BASIC_INFORMATION() windll.kernel32.SetLastError(10000) result = windll.kernel32.VirtualQuery(address, byref(basic_memory_info), byref(basic_memory_info)) if result: return True else: print "Failed: Virtual Query - Error Code: ", windll.kernel32.GetLastError() main = Main() address = None main.launch("C:\Program Files\ProgramFolder\Program.exe") main.get_handle(main.pid) #main.write_memory(address, "\x61") while 1: print '1 to enter an address' print '2 to virtual query address' print '3 to read address' choice = raw_input('Choice: ') if choice == '1': address = raw_input('Enter and address: ') if choice == '2': main.virtual_query(address) if choice == '3': main.read_memory(address) Thanks!

  • a non recursive approach to the problem of generating combinations at fault

    - by mark
    Hi, I wanted a non recursive approach to the problem of generating combination of certain set of characters or numbers. So, given a subset k of numbers n, generate all the possible combination n!/k!(n-k)! The recursive method would give a combination, given the previous one combination. A non recursive method would generate a combination of a given value of loop index i. I approached the problem with this code: Tested with n = 4 and k = 3, and it works, but if I change k to a number 3 it does not work. Is it due to the fact that (n-k)! in case of n = 4 and k = 3 is 1. and if k 3 it will be more than 1? Thanks. int facto(int x); int len,fact,rem=0,pos=0; int str[7]; int avail[7]; str[0] = 1; str[1] = 2; str[2] = 3; str[3] = 4; str[4] = 5; str[5] = 6; str[6] = 7; int tot=facto(n) / facto(n-k) / facto(k); for (int i=0;i<tot;i++) { avail[0]=1; avail[1]=2; avail[2]=3; avail[3]=4; avail[4]=5; avail[5]=6; avail[6]=7; rem = facto(i+1)-1; cout<<rem+1<<". "; for(int j=len;j>0;j--) { int div = facto(j); pos = rem / div; rem = rem % div; cout<<avail[pos]<<" "; avail[pos]=avail[j]; } cout<<endl; } int facto(int x) { int fact=1; while(x0) fact*=x--; return fact; }

  • How to determine if the variable is a function in Python?

    - by bodacydo
Since functions are values in Python, how do I determine if the variable is a function? For example: boda = len # boda is the length function now if ?is_var_function(boda)?: print "Boda is a function!" else: print "Boda is not a function!" Here hypothetical ?is_var_function(x)? should return true if x is a callable function, and false if it is not. Please advise! Thanks, Boda Cydo.

  • Django + FastCGI - randomly raising OperationalError

    - by ibz
I'm running a Django application. Had it under Apache + mod_python before, and it was all OK. Switched to Lighttpd + FastCGI. Now I randomly get the following exception (neither the place nor the time where it appears seem to be predictable). Since it's random, and it appears only after switching to FastCGI, I assume it has something to do with some settings. Found a few results when googleing, but they seem to be related to setting maxrequests=1. However, I use the default, which is 0. Any ideas where to look for? PS. I'm using PostgreSQL. Might be related to that as well, since the exception appears when making a database query. Thanks. • jQuery CSS plugin that returns computed style of element to pseudo clone that element?

    - by Keith Bentrup
I'm looking for a way using jQuery to return an object of computed styles for the 1st matched element. I could then pass this object to another call of jQuery's css method. For example, with width, I can do the following to make the 2 divs have the same width: $('#div2').width($('#div1').width()); It would be nice if I could make a text input look like an existing span: $('#input1').css($('#span1').css()); where .css() with no argument returns an object that can be passed to .css(obj). (I can't find a jQuery plugin for this, but it seems like it should exist. If it doesn't exist, I'll turn mine below into a plugin and post it with all the properties that I use.) Basically, I want to pseudo clone certain elements but use a different tag. For example, I have an li element that I want to hide and put an input element over it that looks the same. When the user types, it looks like they are editing the element inline. I'm also open to other approaches for this pseudo cloning problem for editing. Any suggestions? Here's what I currently have. The only problem is just getting all the possible styles. This could be a ridiculously long list. jQuery.fn.css2 = jQuery.fn.css; jQuery.fn.css = function() { if (arguments.length) return jQuery.fn.css2.apply(this, arguments); var attr = ['font-family','font-size','font-weight','font-style','color', 'text-transform','text-decoration','letter-spacing','word-spacing', 'line-height','text-align','vertical-align','direction','background-color', 'background-image','background-repeat','background-position', 'background-attachment','opacity','width','height','top','right','bottom', 'left','margin-top','margin-right','margin-bottom','margin-left', 'padding-top','padding-right','padding-bottom','padding-left', 'border-top-width','border-right-width','border-bottom-width', 'border-left-width','border-top-color','border-right-color', 'border-bottom-color','border-left-color','border-top-style', 'border-right-style','border-bottom-style','border-left-style','position', 'display','visibility','z-index','overflow-x','overflow-y','white-space', 'clip','float','clear','cursor','list-style-image','list-style-position', 'list-style-type','marker-offset']; var len = attr.length, obj = {}; for (var i = 0; i < len; i++) obj[attr[i]] = jQuery.fn.css2.call(this, attr[i]); return obj; } Edit: I've now been using the code above for awhile. It works well and behaves exactly like the original css method with one exception: if 0 args are passed, it returns the computed style object. As you can see, it immediately calls the original css method if that's the case that applies. Otherwise, it gets the computed styles of all the listed properties (gathered from Firebug's computed style list). Although it's getting a long list of values, it's quite fast. Hope it's useful to others.

  • Help finding longest non-repeating path through connected nodes - Python

    - by Jordan Magnuson
I've been working on this for a couple of days now without success. Basically, I have a bunch of nodes arranged in a 2D matrix. Every node has four neighbors, except for the nodes on the sides and corners of the matrix, which have 3 and 2 neighbors, respectively. Imagine a bunch of square cards laid out side by side in a rectangular area--the project is actually simulating a sort of card/board game. Each node may or may not be connected to the nodes around it. Each node has a function (get_connections()), that returns the nodes immediately around it that it is connected to (so anywhere from 0 to 4 nodes are returned). Each node also has an "index" property, that contains it's position on the board matrix (eg '1, 4' - row 1, col 4). What I am trying to do is find the longest non-repeating path of connected nodes given a particular "start" node. I've uploaded a couple of images that should give a good idea of what I'm trying to do: In both images, the highlighted red cards are supposedly the longest path of connected cards containing the most upper-left card. However, you can see in both images that a couple of cards that should be in the path have been left out (Romania and Maldova in the first image, Greece and Turkey in the second) Here's the recursive function that I am using currently to find the longest path, given a starting node/card: def get_longest_trip(self, board, processed_connections = list(), processed_countries = list()): #Append this country to the processed countries list, #so we don't re-double over it processed_countries.append(self) possible_trips = dict() if self.get_connections(board): for i, card in enumerate(self.get_connections(board)): if card not in processed_countries: processed_connections.append((self, card)) possible_trips[i] = card.get_longest_trip(board, processed_connections, processed_countries) if possible_trips: longest_trip = [] for i, trip in possible_trips.iteritems(): trip_length = len(trip) if trip_length > len(longest_trip): longest_trip = trip longest_trip.append(self) return longest_trip else: print card_list = [] card_list.append(self) return card_list else: #If no connections from start_card, just return the start card #as the longest trip card_list = [] card_list.append(board.start_card) return card_list The problem here has to do with the processed_countries list: if you look at my first screenshot, you can see that what has happened is that when Ukraine came around, it looked at its two possible choices for longest path (Maldova-Romania, or Turkey, Bulgaria), saw that they were both equal, and chose one indiscriminantly. Now when Hungary comes around, it can't attempt to make a path through Romania (where the longest path would actually be), because Romania has been added to the processed_countries list by Ukraine. Any help on this is EXTREMELY appreciated. If you can find me a solution to this, recursive or not, I'd be happy to donate some $$ to you. I've uploaded my full source code (Python 2.6, Pygame 1.9 required) to: http://www.necessarygames.com/junk/planes_trains.zip The relevant code is in src/main.py, which is all set to run.

  • libpcap packet size

    - by silverbandit91
I'm working with libpcap in C on linux (centos) and I'm following this guide I want to simply print out the entire packet in ascii and i'v managed to get it working by casting it a u_char* in the "my_callback" function. But I can't figure out how to get the length of the data. strstr didn't work. the header has a len member that you can access to get the size but I can't find anything similar for the *packet being passed. Any help is appreciated.

  • Use string as input to re.compile

    - by williamx
I want to use a variable in a regex, like this: variables = ['variableA','variableB'] for i in range(len(variables)): regex = r"'('+variables[i]+')[:|=|\(](-?\d+(?:\.\d+)?)(?:\))?'" pattern_variable = re.compile(regex) match = re.search(pattern_variable, line) The problem is that python adds an extra backslash character for each backslash character in my regex string (ipython), and makes my regex invalid: In [76]: regex Out[76]: "'('+variables[i]+')[:|=|\\(](-?\\d+(?:\\.\\d+)?)(?:\\))?'" Any tips on how I can avoid this?

  • When to use Python special methods?

    - by bodacydo
I know that classes can implement various special methods, such as __iter__, __setitem__, __len__, __setattr__, and many others. But when should I use them? Can anyone describe typical scenarios when I would want to implement them and they would simplify programming in Python? Thanks, Boda Cydo.

  • Count warnings in Python 2.4

    - by l0b0
I've got some tests that need to count the number of warnings raised by a function. In Python 2.6 this is simple, using with warnings.catch_warnings(record=True) as warn: ... self.assertEquals(len(warn), 2) Unfortunately, with is not available in Python 2.4, so what else could I use? I can't simply check if there's been a single warning (using warning filter with action='error' and try/catch), because the number of warnings is significant.

  • Setting up Django on an internal server (os.environ() not working as expected?)

    - by monkut
I'm trying to setup Django on an internal company server. (No external connection to the Internet.) Looking over the server setup documentation it appears that the "Running Django on a shared-hosting provider with Apache" method seems to be the most-likely to work in this situation. Here's the server information: Can't install mod_python no root access Server is SunOs 5.6 Python 2.5 Apache/2.0.46 I've installed Django (and flup) using the --prefix option (reading again I probably should've used --home, but at the moment it doesn't seem to matter) I've added the .htaccess file and mysite.fcgi file to my root web directory as mentioned here. When I run the mysite.fcgi script from the server I get my expected output (the correct site HTML output). But, it won't when trying to access it from a browser. It seems that it may be a problem with the PYTHONPATH setting since I'm using the prefix option. I've noticed that if I run mysite.fcgi from the command-line without setting the PYTHONPATH enviornment variable it throws the following error: prompt$ python2.5 mysite.fcgi ERROR: No module named flup Unable to load the flup package. In order to run django as a FastCGI application, you will need to get flup from http://www.saddi.com/software/flup/ If you've already installed flup, then make sure you have it in your PYTHONPATH. I've added sys.path.append(prefixpath) and os.environ['PYTHONPATH'] = prefixpath to mysite.fcgi, but if I set the enviornment variable to be empty on the command-line then run mysite.fcgi, I still get the above error. Here are some command-line results: >>> os.environ['PYTHONPATH'] = 'Null' >>> >>> os.system('echo $PYTHONPATH') Null >>> os.environ['PYTHONPATH'] = '/prefix/path' >>> >>> os.system('echo $PYTHONPATH') /prefix/path >>> exit() prompt$ echo $PYTHONPATH Null It looks like Python is setting the variable OK, but the variable is only applicable inside of the script. Flup appears to be distributed as an .egg file, and my guess is that the egg implementation doesn't take into account variables added by os.environ['key'] = value (?) at least when installing via the --prefix option. I'm not that familiar with .pth files, but it seems that the easy-install.pth file is the one that points to flup: import sys; sys.__plen = len(sys.path) ./setuptools-0.6c6-py2.5.egg ./flup-1.0.1-py2.5.egg import sys; new=sys.path[sys.__plen:]; del sys.path[sys.__plen:]; p=getattr(sys,'__egginsert',0); sy s.path[p:p]=new; sys.__egginsert = p+len(new) It looks like it's doing something funky, anyway to edit this or add something to my code so it will find flup?

  • Python form POST using urllib2 (also question on saving/using cookies)

    - by morpheous
I am trying to write a function to post form data and save returned cookie info in a file so that the next time the page is visited, the cookie information is sent to the server (i.e. normal browser behavior). I wrote this relatively easily in C++ using curlib, but have spent almost an entire day trying to write this in Python, using urllib2 - and still no success. This is what I have so far: import urllib, urllib2 import logging # the path and filename to save your cookies in COOKIEFILE = 'cookies.lwp' cj = None ClientCookie = None cookielib = None logger = logging.getLogger(__name__) # Let's see if cookielib is available try: import cookielib except ImportError: logger.debug('importing cookielib failed. Trying ClientCookie') try: import ClientCookie except ImportError: logger.debug('ClientCookie isn\'t available either') urlopen = urllib2.urlopen Request = urllib2.Request else: logger.debug('imported ClientCookie succesfully') urlopen = ClientCookie.urlopen Request = ClientCookie.Request cj = ClientCookie.LWPCookieJar() else: logger.debug('Successfully imported cookielib') urlopen = urllib2.urlopen Request = urllib2.Request # This is a subclass of FileCookieJar # that has useful load and save methods cj = cookielib.LWPCookieJar() login_params = {'name': 'anon', 'password': 'pass' } def login(theurl, login_params): init_cookies(); data = urllib.urlencode(login_params) txheaders = {'User-agent' : 'Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT)'} try: # create a request object req = Request(theurl, data, txheaders) # and open it to return a handle on the url handle = urlopen(req) except IOError, e: log.debug('Failed to open "%s".' % theurl) if hasattr(e, 'code'): log.debug('Failed with error code - %s.' % e.code) elif hasattr(e, 'reason'): log.debug("The error object has the following 'reason' attribute :"+e.reason) sys.exit() else: if cj is None: log.debug('We don\'t have a cookie library available - sorry.') else: print 'These are the cookies we have received so far :' for index, cookie in enumerate(cj): print index, ' : ', cookie # save the cookies again cj.save(COOKIEFILE) #return the data return handle.read() # FIXME: I need to fix this so that it takes into account any cookie data we may have stored def get_page(*args, **query): if len(args) != 1: raise ValueError( "post_page() takes exactly 1 argument (%d given)" % len(args) ) url = args[0] query = urllib.urlencode(list(query.iteritems())) if not url.endswith('/') and query: url += '/' if query: url += "?" + query resource = urllib.urlopen(url) logger.debug('GET url "%s" => "%s", code %d' % (url, resource.url, resource.code)) return resource.read() When I attempt to log in, I pass the correct username and pwd,. yet the login fails, and no cookie data is saved. My two questions are: can anyone see whats wrong with the login() function, and how may I fix it? how may I modify the get_page() function to make use of any cookie info I have saved ?

  • How to dynamically expand a string in C

    - by sa125
Hi - I have a function that recursively makes some calculations on a set of numbers. I want to also pretty-print the calculation in each recursion call by passing the string from the previous calculation and concatenating it with the current operation. A sample output might look like this: 3 (3) + 2 ((3) + 2) / 4 (((3) + 2) / 4) x 5 ((((3) + 2) / 4) x 5) + 14 ... and so on So basically, the second call gets 3 and appends + 2 to it, the third call gets passed (3) + 2 , etc. My recursive function prototype looks like this: void calc_rec(int input[], int length, char * previous_string); I wrote a 2 helper functions to help me with the operation, but they implode when I test them: /********************************************************************** * dynamically allocate and append new string to old string and return a pointer to it **********************************************************************/ char * strapp(char * old, char * new) { // find the size of the string to allocate int len = sizeof(char) * (strlen(old) + strlen(new)); // allocate a pointer to the new string char * out = (char*)malloc(len); // concat both strings and return sprintf(out, "%s%s", old, new); return out; } /********************************************************************** * returns a pretty math representation of the calculation op **********************************************************************/ char * mathop(char * old, char operand, int num) { char * output, *newout; char fstr[50]; // random guess.. couldn't think of a better way. sprintf(fstr, " %c %d", operand, num); output = strapp(old, fstr); newout = (char*)malloc( 2*sizeof(char)+sizeof(output) ); sprintf(newout, "(%s)", output); free(output); return newout; } void test_mathop() { int i, total = 10; char * first = "3"; printf("in test_mathop\n"); while (i < total) { first = mathop(first, "+", i); printf("%s\n", first); ++i; } } strapp() returns a pointer to newly appended strings (works), and mathop() is supposed to take the old calculation string ("(3)+2"), a char operand ('+', '-', etc) and an int, and return a pointer to the new string, for example "((3)+2)/3". Any idea where I'm messing things up? thanks.

Hello! I found on the web few samples on tracking RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol) with Wireshark, but it doesn't work for me. All RTMPT packets rendered as basic TCP packet like this: 149 14.324999 85.115.xxx.xxx 192.168.1.20 TCP macromedia-fcs > 54557 [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=1452 Win=69 Len=0 I'm using Wireshark 1.2.8 with all protocols installed on Windows Vista. What can i do to fix it? Thx!
