• Android Maven and Refresh Problem

  Hi all, i've a strange problem with maven and android I've 3 maven project and 2 normal java maven project divided in this manner : normal project : model project ... packaged as jar ... contains java Pojo Bean and Interface. Dao Project ... packaged as jar ... contains Db Logic - Depend on model Project Android Application Maven project ContentProvider ... packaged as apk ... contains ContentProviders only. Depends on Dao Project Editors ... packaged as apk ... contains only Editor, Depends on Dao project MainApp ... packaged as apk ... contains MyApp, Depends on DAO ... The Problem is that if i modify DAO Project , Then do a maven clean and maven install of all apk project, then run as Android Application within Eclipse, i don't see updated app on my Emulator. Nicely if i shut down my ubuntu workstation and restart it i can see The updated app on my Emulator. Do you know a solution for this issue ? thanks and regards

  I have Eclipse configured to use an external maven instance. Nonetheless I have an integration test that runs fine from the command line, but fails from within Eclipse. The error is a class Spring application context bean error: Cannot convert value of type [java.lang.String] to required type The culprit it a bean that sets property values using a PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer. <!-- property settings for non-JNDI database connections --> <bean id="placeholderConfigUuid" class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer"> <property name="systemPropertiesModeName" value="SYSTEM_PROPERTIES_MODE_OVERRIDE" /> <property name="location" value="classpath:database.properties" /> <property name="placeholderPrefix" value="$DS{" /> </bean> I know which bean is failing because it appears in the stack trace and because when I replace the $DS{hibernate.dialect} with a static value it works. I have two questions: 1) Since M2Eclipse is using the same Maven setup as the command line, why does one work and the other fail? 2) How to fix this? I really like the ability to run a single jUnit test from within Eclipse on demand.

I am using Wordpress 3.04 in a PHP 4.49 environment.

The maven protocol is: distrib-0.1-SNAPSHOT.zip distrib-0.1-SNAPSHOT.zip The plugin is using the artifact-id instead of property finalName! Is this a bug?   I am trying to release a web project using Maven 2.2.1 and the maven-release-plugin 2.0-beta-9, but it always fails when doing release:perform on generating the sources jar for the EAR project, which makes sense since the EAR project doesn't have any source. What am I doing wrong? Why is the sources JAR still being built? • [WordPress 3.1.3] Sreen option is disabled when a plugin is activated

  I'm pretty new to wordpress. I was assigned to create a custom plugin for one of our projects here. The plugin worked as expected and there is no problem activating/deactivating it. When I was exploring the admin panel I noticed that the screen option is off. I read from a blog somewhere that deactivating the plugin one by one to check which plugin has caused this. I did just this and found out that the custom plugin I created was the cause. My question is, is there way to check what have caused this? Some log file I can look into? There is no error message or warning when I activated the plugin and it is giving the output required. This is my first plugin, any advice will be helpful. Btw, this plugin will display a comment (most recent will be shown first) in a widget and there is prev/next navigation to go through the rest of the comments. Thanks, RNorbe

• Eclipse CDT wont recognize standard library

  I work primarily on my desktop, but I started working on my mac laptop and noticed a problem with eclipse CDT. The standard library was underlined yellow and cout wouldn't work (It wouldn't recognize/find it). I tried restarting the program and that didn't work. I then tried to see if xcode would work, found that the version of xcode was too old, and updated xcode. Eclipse still didn't work, but xcode did. I tried re-installing eclipse to the new version and re-installing cdt. It still wouldn't work. Restarting my computer wont work either. I'm not sure if this helps (or even matters/applies) but when I type g++ --version into terminal, it doesn't work. (I don't know if that matters but some tutorial told me to do that to check if the compiler was working). So, in review, I have: Re-installed eclipse Restarted my computer Re-installed xcode (which I think has all the compilers eclipse uses.) Updated Eclipse Typed g++ --version to test compiler.

• activemq-maven-plugin ignore files in classpath?

  I have been trying to get activemq-maven-plugin to run activemq with configuration in classpath of the bundle. However, I don't have much luck. It seems that the activemq-maven-plugin just ignore resources (resources/main/conf/activemq.properties) the local bundle. I checked the jar and target/classes and they are built into the right local. I am able to get plugin to run (mvn activemq:run) if I take out the PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer bean in the activemq.xml Did I do anything wrong? • Parent Objects

  Support for Parent Objects was added in Solaris 11 Update 1. The following material is adapted from the PSARC arc case, and the Solaris Linker and Libraries Manual. A "plugin" is a shared object, usually loaded via dlopen(), that is used by a program in order to allow the end user to add functionality to the program. Examples of plugins include those used by web browsers (flash, acrobat, etc), as well as mdb and elfedit modules. The object that loads the plugin at runtime is called the "parent object". Unlike most object dependencies, the parent is not identified by name, but by its status as the object doing the load. Historically, building a good plugin is has been more complicated than it should be: A parent and its plugin usually share a 2-way dependency: The plugin provides one or more routines for the parent to call, and the parent supplies support routines for use by the plugin for things like memory allocation and error reporting. It is a best practice to build all objects, including plugins, with the -z defs option, in order to ensure that the object specifies all of its dependencies, and is self contained. However: The parent is usually an executable, which cannot be linked to via the usual library mechanisms provided by the link editor. Even if the parent is a shared object, which could be a normal library dependency to the plugin, it may be desirable to build plugins that can be used by more than one parent, in which case embedding a dependency NEEDED entry for one of the parents is undesirable. The usual way to build a high quality plugin with -z defs uses a special mapfile provided by the parent. This mapfile defines the parent routines, specifying the PARENT attribute (see example below). This works, but is inconvenient, and error prone. The symbol table in the parent already describes what it makes available to plugins — ideally the plugin would obtain that information directly rather than from a separate mapfile. The new -z parent option to ld allows a plugin to link to the parent and access the parent symbol table. This differs from a typical dependency: No NEEDED record is created. The relationship is recorded as a logical connection to the parent, rather than as an explicit object name However, it operates in the same manner as any other dependency in terms of making symbols available to the plugin. When the -z parent option is used, the link-editor records the basename of the parent object in the dynamic section, using the new tag DT_SUNW_PARENT. This is an informational tag, which is not used by the runtime linker to locate the parent, but which is available for diagnostic purposes. The ld(1) manpage documentation for the -z parent option is: -z parent=object Specifies a "parent object", which can be an executable or shared object, against which to link the output object. This option is typically used when creating "plugin" shared objects intended to be loaded by an executable at runtime via the dlopen() function. The symbol table from the parent object is used to satisfy references from the plugin object. The use of the -z parent option makes symbols from the object calling dlopen() available to the plugin. Example For this example, we use a main program, and a plugin. The parent provides a function named parent_callback() for the plugin to call. This allows your output file to refer symbolically to absolute locations of memory defined in other programs. You may use this option more than once. -z parent is a higher level operation aimed specifically at simplifying the construction of high quality plugins. Although it employs the same operation, it differs from --just symbols in 2 significant ways: There can only be one parent. The parent is recorded in the created object, and can be displayed by 'file', or other similar tools.

I am trying to make an application that uses the X library but eclipse cant seem to find it. Eclipse works with any other simple standard library functions but it cant find the X library.   I have a maven project which consists of a few modules. This is to be deployed on a client machine and will involve installing Tomcat and will make use of NSIS for installer. There is a separate application which monitors tomcat and can restart it, perform updates, etc. So, I have the modules setup as follows: project +-- client (all code, handlers, for the war) +-- client-common - (shared code, shared between monitor and client) +-- client-web - (the war, basically just uses war has applicationcontext, web.xml,etc) +-- monitor - (the monitor application jar. Uses wrapper to run) So, I need to create an installer. I was planning on creating another module which would be the installer. This is where I would have tomcat directory and I'd like maven to "assemble" everything and then run NSIS so I can create the final installer. However, I need to have the monitor jar file in a directory and then have all monitors dependencies in a lib/ directory. The final directory structure should be: project-installer-directory/monitor/monitor-version.jar project-installer-directory/monitor/lib/monitor-dep-1.jar project-installer-directory/monitor/lib/monitor-dep-2.jar project-installer-directory/monitor/lib/monitor-dep-3.jar project-installer-directory/webapps/client-web.war Where in the client-web\WEB-INF\lib directory we will have all client-web's dependencies after it is exploded. That works, I have the .war file. What I am having problems with is getting the monitor module dependencies independent of the dependencies of the client-web module. I tried to just create the installer module and make the monitor and client-web dependencies, but when I use dependencies-copy it gives me everything. Not what I want. I'm leaning towards creating a new module called monitor-assembly or something to give me a zip file which contains the directory format I need, but that is yet another module. Can someone please help me with the correct way to accomplish this? thanks!

• How do you fix loading plugins in eclipse 3.5.1 on linux?

  I have two linux boxes. Both Fedora 11 x64. On one, I downloaded the eclipse-java-galileo-SR1-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz. I unpacked it to /opt/eclipse-3.5.1/ and used the Install New Software... item to install the SVN team provider and the Polarion SVN connectors. Everything works. On the second, I copied the tar.gar for eclipse there, and then tried to follow the same steps. When I get to the install SVN team provided, eclipse downloads it and claims to install it and asks to restart. I restart and there is no SVN support. The software installer knows its there because I can't reinstall it without uninstalling it. So the questions: Why isn't the plugin/feature loading for the SVN Team Support? Is there a checkbox that I forgot about that enables the plugin? Is there a command line option that will force reload all of the features on the disk? I've tried to install other things like findbugs, but I get the same result. I have no messages in the log file indicating an exception or anything like that.

  I've installed Eclipse Modelling Framework (eclipse-modeling-galileo-SR1-incubation-linux-gtk.tar.gz) by extracting 'features' and 'plugins' filders of the package to '~/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.5.0_1543616141'. And now Eclipse splashscreen is shown for many minutes (the whole system (incl. BIOS, Linux and KDE) takes much less time to start). I don't need Eclipse Modelling Framework to be loaded at startup, if it is, I only need it when I start a modelling project. How to set up Eclipse to start faster and don't load all the plugins at startup time? My system runs Arch Linux 2010.05, OpenJDK 6.0, Eclipse 3.5.2.

• Maven jaxb2:xjc/jaxws:wsimport to be added in eclipse?

  I have a library I am creating based on some WSDL/XSD definitions. I am having a problem having the compiled classes added in the eclipse project. I can see that with a 'mvn compile' that the .class files are generated, as well as the .java files. The problem is that even though the .class files are generated, eclipse is still showing an error on the import statement "import com.whatever.SomeService_Service" that was generated by one of the plugins. I tried forcing the source to go into the project/src/main/java directory, but when the project is cleaned, it deletes files that I have created. Has anyone run into this before/found a way to get it to recognize that the class files are there? Thanks.

I have gone to this url (http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/CVS_Howto) and figured that the most useful cvs repository for me to look at would be this one: :pserver:anonymous@dev.eclipse.org:/cvsroot/eclipse (The Eclipse platform project) However, when looking at this repository, it has so many modules! Which modules should I be trying to check out? I don't necessarily want to build the IDE from source, however, I just want to get the core Eclipse code base to perform some analysis. Would I just check out any modules starting with "org.eclipse..."? Should I be checking out any of the others? Or is there an easier way to get the source? I read somewhere that you can get the source from the binary version of Eclipse but I am unsure where to find the source.

• New vs Clone Git in Eclipse with EGit

  I'm not sure I have either my new repo or clone repo workflow, or both, setup correctly. When I create a new project I create a repo on github, can't clone from it as it's empty so I create a new project which goes into my workspace and then the git init runs on the workspace copy. So I end up with everything in workspace\project-name. However, when I clone from github first I need to clone the repo and this goes into my default git directory (C:\git) as git\cloned-project-name, I then need to import this Git repo as a project into my workspace and I end up with workspace\cloned-project-name effectively duplicating the project folder in the git area. I've tried to clone to workspace\cloned-project-name but then it asks to import the git project and if I try to use workspace\cloned-project-name again, it errs. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Matt.
