  • Missing Driver - Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

    I have a HP 2000-2106TU Notebook PC running Windows XP. I want to get the brightness keys to work. They are placed over the F2 and F3 buttons and are meant to be used in conjunction with the Fn key. But these combinations do not work, though other Fn keys such as the volume control keys do. I see a missing driver for a device called Video Controller (VGA Compatible) in the Windows Device Manager. The hardware id is PCI VEN 8086 DEV 0106 SUBSYS_1858103C which a Google search suggests is in an Intel HD Graphics family, but I don't know where to locate the driver. HP's driver scan does not help, as it does not show any missing driver related to video/graphics. What can I do next?

  • How to share session cookies between Internet Explorer and an ActiveX components hosted in a webpage

    I am currently working on a .Net application which makes HTTP requests to some web applications hosted on a IIS server. The application is deployed through ClickOnce and is working fine on simple networks architectures. One of our customers has a very complex network involving a custom authentication server on which the user has first to log himself in order to be authenticated and get access to other applications on this network. Once authenticated on this server, a session cookie is created and sent to the user. Every time the user then makes a request on a secured server of the network, this cookie is checked to grant access to the user. If this cookie is not sent with the request, the user is redirected to the login page. The only browser used is Internet Explorer. This cookie cannot be accessed from our .net application since it is executed in another process than the Internet Explorer process which was used to log the user in, and thus is not sent with our requests, which cannot be completed since the server redirects every of our requests to the login page. I had a look at embedding my application into Internet Explorer by making the main control COM visible and creating it on an HTML page with an tag. It is working properly, however the sessions cookies set earlier in the browser are not sent when the ActiveX control makes web requests. I was hoping this sharing of the session information would be automatic (although I didn't really believe it). So my questions are : Is it possible to have access to this cookie in the embedded ActiveX? How? Does it make a difference to use a .Net COM-interop component instead of a "true" ActiveX control? Also, are there specific security words to describe this kind of behaviors (given that I am not an expert at all on security topics, this lack of proper terminology makes it a lot harder to find the needed resources)? My goal is to have my application's requests look the same from the requests made by the host browser's requests, and I thought that embedding the application as an ActiveX control into the browser was the only way to achieve this, however any suggestion on another to do this is welcome.

  • Cookies not working for password-protected Pages on WordPress

    Initially I had the issue reported in this question. Now, what I noticed is that there are some browsers that accept the password, and there are some which don't. Difference? For some reason the cookie is generated when I log in into the Administration module, but it isn't when I write down the password to access the page, forcing it to simply reload. I can see the cookie created for the log-in, but I can see none for the password-protected Page. These happens on Internet Explorer, both version 7 and 8; only on some machines, though, but most of them fail this. I already tried white-listing the URL, and even letting it accept ALL cookies, to no avail. What may be the cause? If perhaps it's got something to do with question above, please help me! Thanks in advance. PS: If you know of another, cookie-free method to make a simple authentication, please link me to it. Thanks. Oh, and by the way, this is inside an Intranet with static, class C IPs.

  • Shared Cookies between WebView and HTTPClient?

    An Android app I am building requires web authentication for users to make data calls. In Adobe AIR and later the iPhone, we did this by rendering a login page in a webview-equivalent page and setting a cookie when the user signs in. Subsequent data calls use the same Cookie Jar and so are seen as authenticated. In the Android version, I authenticate the user using a WebView and then once thats done, I make a data call using DefaultHttpClient, however I cant seem to load the data on the second call. Is there some cookie gotcha I am missing? I imagine the HTTPClient and WebView would share the same Cookie space. Am I wrong?

    I have an interesting issue that has me stumped. Not that I'm a computer whiz or anything. I have a multi-boot system with two hard drives: one drive has CentOS and Windows XP 64-bit and the other drive has Windows XP 32-bit. CentOS grub boot loader works great, and I have it set to default to Windows. But this is the problem. My boot.ini file seems to be in order, yet it still gives an error if I choose the default OS (which, consequently, is XP32): Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrput: (Windows root) \system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please re-install a copy of the above file. But if I choose the actual boot ID, i.e., toggle to the Windows XP Pro selection it boots just fine.     Hi I have the following problem: when starting Visual Studio 2008, it says "Cannot find one or more components. Please reinstall the application." and stops. With the help of Sysinternals ProcessMonitor, I found out that Visual Studio could not load the atl90.dll 9.0.30729.4148 from the WinSxS folder. I tried to manually copy the older atl90.dll 9.0.30729.1 with the result that Visual Studio works again. Now I call this a dirty workaround, and not a solution. Plus I still don't know the reason why the atl90.dll disappeared in the first place. So my questions: - Does anyone know of a reason why this might have happened? - Does anyone know a real solution to the problem, e.g. a Microsoft download that includes the atl90.dll in the correct version 9.0.30729.4148 that installs into WinSxS?     I'm working with Windows Server 2008, Apache 2.2. I'm using php-5.3.5-Win32-VC6-x86.msi as the installer, using the threadsafe version. I've gone through the install process four or five times just to make sure that I'm not missing anything ridiculous, but I don't think I am. The problem is that the php_ldap.dll extension simply doesn't seem to exist. It's not present in the installer interface (where the user is asked to choose which extensions to install), and it definitely doesn't appear in the ext/ directory after install. I found a lot of mentions of this issue for 5.3.3, including links to download the extension individually. Those links no longer exist, of course, and besides: they were for 5.3.3. I'd really rather use an extension that belongs with PHP 5.3.5. Anyone else encounter this problem? Any ideas as to what's going wrong? Anyone seen acknowledgement by the PHP folks that the file is indeed missing, and that it's an oversight? It's quite a frustration because the server I'm building has no purpose if I don't have PHP LDAP support. Cheers all, and thanks in advance for your assistance.

    I had a partition with Windows 8 Release Preview, Windows' System Reserved partition and the empty space of the beginning of disk. I moved two partitions to the beginning of disk using Ubuntu Live CD and GParted. After that, the Windows Loader didn't boot and throw an error about missing files. I fixed it using the commands: bootsect /nt60 sys /force /mbr bootrec /rebuildbcd bootrec /fixboot bootrec /fixmbr When I used "Automatic repair" option from "Advanced boot" menu, it throw an error like: Windows can't fix your boot problems. For more information see file C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt In this file I found a description of the system repair actions and at the end of file: Boot status indicates that the OS booted successfully. Now, when I use the Advanced boot menu from Windows 8 (PC settings - General - Advanced startup) I receive an error: Restart your PC to try again. It looks like something didn't load correctly. Restarting might fix the problem. If this happens more than once, you might also be able to find help by searching online for the specific error code. Erorr code: 0x8007090. 0x80070490 is the error code ERROR_NOT_FOUND. What are the missing boot files and how can I restore them? Each row represents the sales for one month for one client. So I have three clients, namely aaa, bbb, and ccc. For month=1 their sales volumes are: aaa-111, bbb-222, and ccc-333. A client may or may not have sales for every month; for example, for the month 2, the client bbb has no sales. I have to construct a completed summary table for all the MONTH / CODE pairs with their corresponding VALUE (using the value from the "partial" table, if present, otherwise print a string "missing").   • Windows 7 - All Icons Missing, Explorer Progress Bar Never Finishes, Libraries Gone

    since yesterday i've had three issues which all arose at the same time. windows 7 x64, i7 2.8ghz 12gb ddr3 1 - my libraries, favorites, drives are missing...basically the entire sidebar is gone. http://i.imgur.com/m8pRQ.png. yet when i open a dialog, my libraries and drives are back to normal ONLY for the dialog. i tried Restore Default Libraries. it works one time, but when i open libraries again i go back to the empty mess. restarting the computer temporarily fixes the problem. 2 - in the explorer window that's showing libraries, when i navigate to a certain folder i get an unending progress bar (the kind that turns the address bar green). yesterday when the problem started, i was saving a file to this folder. the program writing the file crashed during the write and i believe that's what caused the problem. i have sugarsync backing up that folder and when i restarted the computer sugarsync informed me that its database was corrupted, so i had to uninstall and reinstall the software. 3 - icons are missing. the Rebuild Icon Cache did not fix this. http://i.imgur.com/r9pgo.png restarting the computer temporarily fixes these problems, but when i open the directory with the initial write problem, everything stops working. edit: i should note that i did a chkdsk /f and it repaired problems. i also did the thing that verifies then restores windows files (can't remember the command now), which reported that everything was normal.

    I'm writing an ASP.net application that uses Windows Identity Foundation. My ASP.net application uses claims-based authentication with passive redirection to a security token service. This means that when a user accesses the application, they are automatically redirected to the Security Token Service where they receive a security token which identifies them to the application. In ASP.net, security tokens are stored as cookies. I want to have something the user can click on in my application that will delete the cookie and redirect them to the Security Token Service to get a new token. In short, make it easy to log out and log in as another user. I try to delete the token-containing cookie in code, but it persists somehow. How do I remove the token so that the user can log in again and get a new token?

    Hi, The company I work for has four domains and I'm trying to set up the cookies, so one cookie can be generated and tracked across all the domains. From reading various posts on here I thought it was possible. I've set up a sub domain on one site, to serve a cookie and 1*1 pixel image to all four sites. But I can't get this working on the other sites. If anyone can clarify that: Its possible? If I'm missing something obvious or a link to a good example? I'm trying to do this server side with PHP.     I am having a hard time implementing "Remember Me" functionality in an MVC application with a custom principal. I have boiled it down to ASP.NET not retrieving the authentication cookie for me. I have included a snaphot below from Google Chrome. Shows the results of Request.Cookies that is set within the controller action and placed in ViewData for the view to read. Notice that it is missing the .ASPXAUTH cookie Shows the results from the Chrome developer tools. You can see that .ASPXAUTH is included here. Does anyone know what the issue may be here? Why does ASP.NET not read this value from the cookie collection?
