  • Convert PDF to Image Batch

    - by tro
    I am working on a solution where I can convert pdf files to images. I am using the following example from codeproject: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/317700/Convert-a-PDF-into-a-series-of-images-using-Csharp?msg=4134859#xx4134859xx now I tried with the following code to generate from more then 1000 pdf files new images: using Cyotek.GhostScript; using Cyotek.GhostScript.PdfConversion; using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Drawing; using System.IO; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Threading.Tasks; namespace RefClass_PDF2Image { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { string outputPath = Properties.Settings.Default.outputPath; string pdfPath = Properties.Settings.Default.pdfPath; if (!Directory.Exists(outputPath)) { Console.WriteLine("Der angegebene Pfad " + outputPath + " für den Export wurde nicht gefunden. Bitte ändern Sie den Pfad (outputPath) in der App.Config Datei."); return; } else { Console.WriteLine("Output Pfad: " + outputPath + " gefunden."); } if (!Directory.Exists(pdfPath)) { Console.WriteLine("Der angegebene Pfad " + pdfPath + " zu den PDF Zeichnungen wurde nicht gefunden. Bitte ändern Sie den Pfad (pdfPath) in der App.Config Datei."); return; } else { Console.WriteLine("PDF Pfad: " + pdfPath + " gefunden."); } Pdf2ImageSettings settings = GetPDFSettings(); DateTime start = DateTime.Now; TimeSpan span; Console.WriteLine(""); Console.WriteLine("Extraktion der PDF Zeichnungen wird gestartet: " + start.ToShortTimeString()); Console.WriteLine(""); DirectoryInfo diretoryInfo = new DirectoryInfo(pdfPath); DirectoryInfo[] directories = diretoryInfo.GetDirectories(); Console.WriteLine(""); Console.WriteLine("Es wurden " + directories.Length + " verschiedende Verzeichnisse gefunden."); Console.WriteLine(""); List<string> filenamesPDF = Directory.GetFiles(pdfPath, "*.pdf*", SearchOption.AllDirectories).Select(x => Path.GetFullPath(x)).ToList(); List<string> filenamesOutput = Directory.GetFiles(outputPath, "*.*", SearchOption.AllDirectories).Select(x => Path.GetFullPath(x)).ToList(); Console.WriteLine(""); Console.WriteLine("Es wurden " + filenamesPDF.Count + " verschiedende PDF Zeichnungen gefunden."); Console.WriteLine(""); List<string> newFileNames = new List<string>(); int cutLength = pdfPath.Length; for (int i = 0; i < filenamesPDF.Count; i++) { string temp = filenamesPDF[i].Remove(0, cutLength); temp = outputPath + temp; temp = temp.Replace("pdf", "jpg"); newFileNames.Add(temp); } for (int i = 0; i < filenamesPDF.Count; i++) { FileInfo fi = new FileInfo(newFileNames[i]); if (!fi.Exists) { if (!Directory.Exists(fi.DirectoryName)) { Directory.CreateDirectory(fi.DirectoryName); } Bitmap firstPage = new Pdf2Image(filenamesPDF[i], settings).GetImage(); firstPage.Save(newFileNames[i], System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg); firstPage.Dispose(); } //if (i % 20 == 0) //{ // GC.Collect(); // GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers(); //} } Console.ReadLine(); } private static Pdf2ImageSettings GetPDFSettings() { Pdf2ImageSettings settings; settings = new Pdf2ImageSettings(); settings.AntiAliasMode = AntiAliasMode.Medium; settings.Dpi = 150; settings.GridFitMode = GridFitMode.Topological; settings.ImageFormat = ImageFormat.Png24; settings.TrimMode = PdfTrimMode.CropBox; return settings; } } } unfortunately, I always get in the Pdf2Image.cs an out of memory exception. here the code: public Bitmap GetImage(int pageNumber) { Bitmap result; string workFile; //if (pageNumber < 1 || pageNumber > this.PageCount) // throw new ArgumentException("Page number is out of bounds", "pageNumber"); if (pageNumber < 1) throw new ArgumentException("Page number is out of bounds", "pageNumber"); workFile = Path.GetTempFileName(); try { this.ConvertPdfPageToImage(workFile, pageNumber); using (FileStream stream = new FileStream(workFile, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)) { result = new Bitmap(stream); // --->>> here is the out of memory exception stream.Close(); stream.Dispose(); } } finally { File.Delete(workFile); } return result; } how can I fix that to avoid this exception? thanks for any help, tro

  • iphone/ipad adding adding and removing a subview doesnt work

    - by Mark
    Im have a slight amount of trouble adding a new view to my scene, I have the code like this: - (void) showMyDayView { NSLog(@"My Day View was touched"); MyDayViewController *temp = [[MyDayViewController alloc] initWithNibName: @"MyDayView" bundle:nil]; self.myDayViewController = temp; NSLog(@"superview: %@", [[self mainNavView] superview]); [[self mainNavView] removeFromSuperview]; NSLog(@"after removal main: %@", [self mainNavView]); NSLog(@"after removal view: %@", [self view]); NSLog(@"after removal superview: %@", [[self view] superview]); [[[self view] superview] addSubview: [self.myDayViewController view]]; [temp release]; } And when I run this code, the console says "after removal superview: (null)" so when I add the subView to the superview, nothing happens because the superview is null. Any ideas? Thanks Mark

  • NamedPipeClientStream StreamReader problem in C++

    - by Chris Porter
    When reading from a NamedPipes server using the .net NamedPipeClientStream class I can only get the data on the first read in C++, every time it's just an empty string. In c# it works every time. pipeClient = gcnew NamedPipeClientStream(".", "Server_OUT", PipeDirection::In); try { pipeClient->Connect(); } catch(TimeoutException^ e) { // swallow } StreamReader^ sr = gcnew StreamReader(pipeClient); String^ temp; while (temp = sr->ReadLine()) { // = sr->ReadLine(); Console::WriteLine("Received from server: {0}", temp); } sr->Close();

  • create a list of threads in C

    - by Hristo
    My implementation (in C) isn't working... the first node is always NULL so I can't free the memory. I'm doing: thread_node_t *thread_list_head = NULL; // done in the beginning of the program ... // later on in the program thread_node_t *thread = (thread_node_t*) malloc(sizeof(thread_node_t)); pthread_create(&(thread->thread), NULL, client_thread, &csFD); thread->next = thread_list_head; thread_list_head = thread; So when I try to free this memory, thread_list_head is NULL. while (thread_list_head != NULL) { thread_node_t *temp = thread_list_head; thread_list_head = thread_list_head->next; free(temp); temp = NULL; } Any advice on how to fix this or just a new way to create this list that would work better? Thanks, Hristo

    I have this code currently, string defaultNamingContext; DirectoryEntry rootDSE = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://RootDSE"); defaultNamingContext = rootDSE.Properties["defaultNamingContext"].Value.ToString(); rootDSE = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + defaultNamingContext); //DirectoryEntry domain = new DirectoryEntry((string)"LDAP://" + defaultNamingContext); DirectorySearcher ouSearch = new DirectorySearcher(rootDSE,"(objectCategory=Organizational-Unit)", null, SearchScope.Subtree); MessageBox.Show(rootDSE.Path.ToString()); try { SearchResultCollection collectedResult = ouSearch.FindAll(); foreach (SearchResult temp in collectedResult) { comboBox1.Items.Add(temp.Properties["name"][0]); DirectoryEntry ou = temp.GetDirectoryEntry(); } } When i use the debugger i can see that rootDSE.Path is infact pointing to the right place, in this case "DC=g-t-p,DC=Local" but the directory searcher doesn't find any results. Can anyone help?

  • file operations

    - by devtech
    I am writing a script for renaming/copying the content of a file. I have temp & temp1 folders. Inside temp1 I have 1000 .txt files with names 1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt ... & in temp folder I have sub directories named 1, 2, 3. In the folders 1, 2, 3 ..., I have one file with extension java or xml. My need is to automate the copy of the contents of the .txt file, and paste into the respective file in the temp sub directory. Is it possible to do this using Perl?

  • GIT: Checkout to a "Really" Specific Folder

    - by Rafid K. Abdullah
    I want to export, checkout, or whatever you call it from the index, HEAD, or any other commit, to a specific folder, how is that possible? Similar questions have already been asked: GIT: Checkout to a specific folder How to do a "git export" (like "svn export") But the problem with the proposed solution is that they preserve the relative path. So for example, if I use the mentioned method to check out the file nbapp/editblog.php to the folder temp, the file would be checked out in temp/nbapp/editblog.php! Is there anyway to checkout to 'temp' directly? Also, another important thing is to be able to check the HEAD or any other commit. The checkout-index (which allows using the --prefix option to checkout to a specific folder, while normal checkout doesn't allow) checks out only the index. What if I want to check out a file from a certain commit to a certain folder? A similar question has alread

  • Vim: Delete Buffer When Quitting Split Window

    - by Rafid K. Abdullah
    I have this very useful function in my .vimrc: function! MyGitDiff() !git cat-file blob HEAD:% > temp/compare.tmp diffthis belowright vertical new edit temp/compare.tmp diffthis endfunction What it does is basically opening the file I am currently working on from repository in a vertical split window, then compare with it. This is very handy, as I can easily compare changes to the original file. However, there is a problem. After finishing the compare, I remove the split window by typing :q. This however doesn't remove the buffer from the buffer list and I can still see the compare.tmp file in the buffer list. This is annoying because whenever I make new compare, I get this message: Warning: File "temp/compare.tmp" has changed since editing started. Is there anyway to delete the file from buffers as well as closing the vertical split window?

  • pointer to member function question

    - by Steve
    Hello, I'm trying to replicate a template I've used before with a member function, and it isn't going very well. The basic form of the function is template<class T> T Convert( HRESULT (*Foo)(T*)) { T temp; Foo(&temp); //Throw if HRESULT is a failure return temp; } HRESULT Converter(UINT* val) { *val = 1; return S_OK; } int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { std::cout << Convert<UINT>(Converter) << std::endl; return 0; } For the life of me, I can't get this to work with a member variable. I've read up on their syntax, and I can't seem to figure out how to make it work with templates. The class would be something similar to class TestClass { HRESULT Converter(UINT* val) { *val = 1; return S_OK; } }

Machine has Vista SP1 which means the MDAC installer will not work since MDAC 2.8 is already included. Code that leads up to the error: 'Temp file to users temp directory: FileName = C:\DOCUME~1\nmiller\LOCALS~1\Temp\TmpPrint.mdb Dim catADO As New ADOX.Catalog catADO.Create "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & FileName Error happens on the .Create line. • mkdir error in bash script

    - by Don
    Hi, The following is a fragment of a bash script that I'm running under cygwin on Windows: deployDir=/cygdrive/c/Temp/deploy timestamp=`date +%Y-%m-%d_%H:%M:%S` deployDir=${deployDir}/$timestamp if [ ! -d "$deployDir" ]; then echo "making dir $deployDir" mkdir -p $deploydir fi This produces output such as: making dir /cygdrive/c/Temp/deploy/2010-04-30_11:47:58 mkdir: missing operand Try `mkdir --help' for more information. However, if I type /cygdrive/c/Temp/deploy/2010-04-30_11:47:58 on the command-line it succeeds, why does the same command not work in the script? Thanks, Don

  • In Javascript, is there a technique where I can execute code after a return?

    - by Christopher Altman
    Is there a technique where I can execute code after a return? I want to return a value then reset the value without introducing a temporary variable. My current code is: function(a){ var b; if(b){ var temp = b; //I want to avoid this step b = false; return temp; }else{ b = a; return false; }; }; I want to avoid the temp var. Is that possible? var b holds a value between function calls because it is a memoization styled function.

  • Problem with assigning elements of a class array to individual variables in MATLAB

    - by Marc
    This is a bit of a duplicate of this question, this question, and this question, however those solutions don't work, so I'm asking mine. I've got an array of locally defined classes and I'd like to assign it to multiple, individual variables. This pattern doesn't work: %a is 2x1 of MyClass temp = mat2cell(a); [x,y] = temp{:}; %throws: ??? Insufficient number of outputs from right hand side of equal sign to satisfy assignment. Because temp is a single cell, with my 2x1 array in one cell, rather than a 2x1 cell array with one element of each of my original array in one cell. Any ideas?

  • Explicitly multiplying values as longs

    - by Bill Szerdy
    I understand that all math is done as the largest data type required to handle the current values but when you transverse a loop how do you explicitly multiply longs? The following code returns 0, I suspect, because of an overflow. long result = 0L; List<Long> temp = (List<Long>) getListOfIntegers(); for (int i = 0; i < temp.size(); i++) { result *= temp.get(i).longValue(); } System.out.println(result);

  • Carrierwave upload to a tmp dir before saving to database

    - by user827570
    I'm trying to build a visual editor where users can click an image they are presented with an image upload form once the upload is done I use ajax to return the image and insert it back into the page. But the above method inserts the image straight into the database but I want users to be able to visualize the image before the image is inserted into the database. So I was wondering if the image using carrierwave could be uploaded to a temp location, sent back to the user and then when the user saves the page the image is moved into the permanent location. Here's what I have so far. def edit_image @page = Page.find(1) @page.update_attributes(params[:page]) @page.save return :text => @page.file end But this is what I want to achieve def temp_image #uploads received image to a temp location #returns image to the user end And once the user clicks save def save #moves the file in the temp folder to the permanent location end Cheers

  • jQuery timer, ajax, and "nice time"

    - by Mil
    So for this is what I've got: $(document).ready(function () { $("#div p").load("/update/temp.php"); function addOne() { var number = parseInt($("#div p").html()); return number + 1; } setInterval(function () { $("#div p").text(addOne()); }, 1000); setInterval(function () { $("#geupdate p").load("/update/temp.php");} ,10000); }); So this grabs a a UNIX timestamp from temp.php and puts into into #div p, and then adds 1 to it every second, and then every 10 seconds it will check the original file to keep it up to speed. My problem is that I need to format this UNIX timestamp into a format such as "1 day 3 hours 56 minutes and 3 seconds ago", while also doing all the incrementation and ajax calls. I'm not very experienced with jquery/javascript, so I might be missing something basic.

  • Looking for a syntactic shortcut for accessing dictionaries

    - by Sisiutl
    I have an abstract base class that holds a Dictionary. I'd like inherited classes to be able to access the dictionary fields using a convenient syntax. Currently I have lots of code like this: string temp; int val; if (this.Fields.TryGetValue("Key", out temp)) { if (int.TryParse(temp, out val)) { // do something with val... } } Obviously I can wrap this in utility functions but I'd like to have a cool, convenient syntax for accessing the dictionary fields where I can simply say something like: int result = @Key; Is there any way to do something like this in C# (3.5)?

  • Splitting a double vector into equal parts

    - by Cosmin
    Greetings, Any input on a way to divide a std::vector into two equal parts ? I need to find the smallest possible difference between |part1 - part2|. This is how I'm doing it now, but from what you can probably tell it will yield a non-optimal split in some cases. auto mid = std::find_if(prim, ultim, [&](double temp) -> bool { if(tempsum >= sum) return true; tempsum += temp; sum -= temp; return false; }); The vector is sorted, highest to lowest, values can indeed appear twice. I'm not expecting part1 and part2 to have the same numbers of elements, but sum(part1) should be as close as possible to sum(part2) For example if we would have { 2.4, 0.12, 1.26, 0.51, 0.70 }, the best split would be { 2.4, 0.12 } and { 1.26, 0.51, 0.70 }. If it helps, I'm trying to achieve the splitting algorithm for the Shannon Fano encoding. Any input is appreciated, thanks!

  • Reading a file used by another process

    - by Tophe
    I know this has been up for discussion but I can't find an answer to my specific problem. I am monitoring a text file that is being written to by a server program. Every time the file is changed the content will be outputted to a window in my program. The problem is of course, that I can't use the Streamreader on the file as it is being "used by another process". Also setting up a Filestream with ReadWrite won't do any good since I cannot control the process that is using the file. However... You CAN open the file in notepad, so somehow it must be possible to access it even though the server is using it. Is there a good way around this? Should I monitor the file, make a temp copy of it when it changes, read the temp copy and the delete the temp copy. I need to get hold of the text in the file whenever the server changes it.

  • Scanner cuts off my String after about 2400 characters

    - by Ventrue
    I've got some very basic code like while (scan.hasNextLine()) { String temp = scan.nextLine(); System.out.println(temp); } where scan is a Scanner over a file. However, on one particular line, which is about 6k chars long, temp cuts out after something like 2470 characters. There's nothing special about when it cuts out; it's in the middle of the word "Australia." If I delete characters from the line, the place where it cuts out changes; e.g. if I delete characters 0-100 in the file then Scanner will get what was previously 100-2570. I've used Scanner for larger strings before. Any idea what could be going wrong?
