If you have planned a business or already own one, and are thinking of owning a website of your own for online transactions, then you must read this. The mere idea of having a website is not sufficient at this juncture.
Well I'm working on a personal project that needs to check if a user has met certain requirements, and they come in a form of
Requirement: [c1 OR c2] AND [d1 OR d2]
Requirement: [c1 AND c2] OR [d1 AND d2]
Requirement: c1 AND any dn(n can be any integer)
I'm just not sure how to store these sorts of requirements, I'm thinking of using another object to hold c1,c2,d1,d2....dn and OR, but that seems like a roundabout way of doing things. Is there a better method?
Because of a change in brand, I want to redirect our subdomain.domain.com to a newdomain.com. The content being exactly the same, I was thinking of using a 301 wild card 301 redirect to newdomain.com. I noticed it is not possible to do a redirect in Google webmasters tool as you can with a root domain.
Is there a way I can do this redirect without losing all the backlinks referenced with Google?
All the best, mark
I recently came across a couple of lets say "young people" who were convinced that they were "Web Developers", despite the fact that they were only able to configure a wordpress template, and not even able to edit images properly.
So this got me thinking, "back in the day" kids who thought they were hackers but just ran other peoples scripts they had found, were known as Script Kiddies.
Do we have a term for these yet?
Keywords are vital in blogging and SEO but do you have good results after weeks or months of trial and error about keyword research? Are you still in the thinking of what really went wrong?
Folks, I have two separate classes. One of them makes http requests/receives response to/from a server and the second one converts received JSON objects into my models (separate classes). I'm thinking it would be an idea to include this class for data converting as an inner class of my first class. Wouldn't my first class be extra big because of it and I need to leave everything as is or this is a good common practice to behave like that?

I was in my Virtualbox running 12.04 trying to compile an app, and while waiting I happened to chance upon a forum where a comment said:
Try :(){ :|: & };:
Fun, too, and doesn't need root.
Without thinking I ran it in my gnome-terminal it made my 12.04 virtualbox lag so badly I had to shut it down. My question is what does this command do?

I have to make a game about the immune system (with as many grotesque simplifications as I want) in roughly two weeks. I'm thinking of something along the lines of bubble tanks, but I think I can roll with pretty much anything that fits the following:
Working engine that handles mouvement, objects
The fighting system can be done in any way that allows a bare minimum of configuration
Scripting should be, preferably, Python
Art should be customizable
I'm hoping that there is some existing game that I could adapt. Any sggestions (aside from not leaving projects until later) ?

I've dropbox v1.4.17 installed and I want to change the path from (...)/Dropbox to (...)/dropbox.
I think until v1.2 this was done by changing dropbox_path field in the sqlite file ~/.dropbox/config.db. Now, this field is hidden inside the encrypted ~/.dropbox/config.dbx (security reasons [1], I guess).
Anyone has a solution to this? I'm thinking about placing my dropbox folder in ~/.local/share/Dropbox and then linking that to the path I want to set.

I am having Ubuntu 12.04 minimal installed on my USB pen-drive; which I use on several systems as portable OS.
I was thinking to edit the boot parameters so that before the main Ubuntu OS is loaded, it shows an option to Boot from Hard Drive for 5 seconds, and then boots to Ubuntu.
This way i'll be able to have an option to boot to the OS installed on the Hard-Drive, without removing or unplugging my ubuntu USB stick.
How do I edit the boot parameters to achieve this?

<b>Cyber Cynic:</b> "Facebook claims to have more than 400 million active users. In fact, according to Web analytics firm Alexa, only Google is a more popular site. So, with all that going for it, why are so many users unhappy, with one poll showing that more than half of Facebook users are thinking about leaving?"
I am creating a 2d platformer using SDL and I was thinking that my game object could be static, but I wasn't sure if this was a good idea.
The pros (that I can see):
Accessing settings options (such as screen size and keyboard bindings) would be easier accessed
There should only ever be one main game loop, so this makes sure for me.
The cons:
From what I've heard, static classes in C++ are a bear to work with
I've read that this may cause problems later in development (things don't work right or can't be used properly
I'm thinking on buying the Lenovo USB 3.0 Dock and use it with Ubuntu and Unity, but I haven't found information regarding if Ubuntu already has built-in drivers for it.

So, I'd just like to know if its a good idea getting it or I'd better not because I might have a difficult time trying to set it up.
Thanks.
There are multiple free texture sites, like: texturemate.com or plaintextures.com. I am wondering how safe it is to use their content? I imagine that the texture could be withdrawed from the site, making it difficult to prove it was really there. Or: a file can origin from other, restricted source.
I am thinking about using wikipedia Commons, as there is the OTRS system. However most media requires attributing.
