• Can't add domain users to Reporting Services 2008

  I have SSRS 2008 setup on the database server. The server is part of the domain. Reporting Services is running under NetworkService. When I try to add a domain user using the web interface (Site Settings -- Security -- New Role Assignment), the page posts back but the user is not in the list. • Managing multiple WCF endpoints for the same service

  I am building an single application that uses WCF to call out to multiple external endpoints. All of the remote endpoints are identical except for the URI. I would like to treat them as a pool: add and remove endpoints through configuration and have the application understand what to do. My original plan was to define one endoint in the app.config, then iterate over my list of endpoints and update client.Endpoint.Address on the fly to point to the right place. Unfortunately, that property is read-only, rendering that plan unworkable. I'm a little bit stumped here. Any suggestions on how I might accomplish this?

  So today I downloaded Apache Commons Lang library (binary, zip format). I extracted it to C:\eclipse\commons-lang-2.5 folder. There are a commons-lang-2.5.jar, a commons-lang-2.5-javadoc.jar, and a commons-lang-2.5-sources.jar inside, and a folder for HTML Javadoc. I started Eclipse, added commons-lang-2.5.jar, and set its source and Javadoc respectively as the screenshot below. My question is, is there a convenient or standard way to add external libraries? Or am I actually doing the right thing?

  Hi. In the "Regular Expression Editor" dialog in VS 2008 ( or 2005 for this matter ) , there is a list of "standard expressions" like : "French phone number" , "French postal code" etc.. And of course there is an option to select a "Custom" and then enter your own regular expression. Well.. I want to add a predefined expressions to that list . Like : "Israeli phone number" . I don't want to enter it every time by selecting a custom value . I want my developers in the team available items for them to choose. Anyone knows how to alter that list ? I've found some question about it on the web - and the answer given is that it's not possible . But that was at 2004. Anyone ?!?! Thanks.

• How to add a Page to Frame using code in WPF

  I have a Window where I have put a Frame. I would like to add a Page to the Frame when I click a button that is also on the Window but not in the Frame. There are several buttons in the Window and each click on a button should load a different Page in the Frame. Since I'm a total newbie on this WPF stuff it's quite possible that this approach is not the best and I have thought about replacing the Frame with a Canvas and then make UserControls instead of Pages that will be added to the Canvas. I welcome any ideas and suggestions on how to best solve this. I aiming for a functionality that is similar to the application Billy Hollis demonstrated in dnrtv episode 115.   I have a UIScrollView. In there I add buttons programmatically. Right now I just use UIButton and set one title. But I need to have an UIImage View in there, that will change upon certain events, Text that will change too etc. and I would like to style that in Interface Builder, but I can't figure out how to do this. Which class should I extend, and what kind of xib should I create and what in there, so that in the end I can make the right connections and so that I can listen for UIControlEventTouchDown of that Button.

• Identify server that made call to web service

  I am working within an intranet environment. We have both a production and development sharepoint server (WSS 3). We have a 3rd party workflow product which runs on top of sharepoint. It is installed on both the production and development sharepoint servers. The workflow product can call web services I have written which are hosted on our web server. How would I have the web services determine which sharepoint server made the call to the web service, be it the production or development server? I would then use this information to server specific information from web.config or database etc. Currently the site hosting web services is setup to allow anonymous access so code such as System.Web.HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name; returns and empty string. If windows authenticaion is used it returns the identity of the currently logged in user, which is no user in identifying the server the call was made from. I need a push in the right direction to address what I believe is probably a common scenario please.

  Hai, I wrote the coding for add / remove the default documents of IIS7 in vb.net 2.0 windows application using Microsoft.Web.Administration.dll. The coding is working fine. After adding a new document, the messagebox showing that newly added document name. Simillarly if I remove any document, the messagebox not showing that document name. So that I am saying, the coding is working fine. Now the problem is, I can't see the newly added document name in II7 Manager GUI. The next proplem is, my website not access that newly added document. Please can any body suggest for these problems. What the mistake I did the vb.net 2.0 windows application coding and what are the modifications I need to do? Thanks in advance.

• Setting up a domain using WAMP and NameCheap's DNS service

  So, I've been working on this for far longer than I should be and I'm quite thoroughly perplexed and lost. I apologize if this turns out to be a facile question, but I'm entirely befuddled and very much in need of some guidance. Earlier today I registered a cheap .info domain on NameCheap just to play around with as I learn webdev. I have WAMP installed on my computer and I've been testing my projects through localhost. I thought it would be a good idea to have a domain at my disposal in order to understand how it works and better test my work. NameCheap has a complimentary DNS service (not that I entirely understand what DNS is, although I tried), so I'm using that. I direct both the "@" and "www" host names to my IP address, as shown in the below tutorial: https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/319/78/how-can-i-setup-an-a-address-record-for-my-domain However, now when I go to the URL of the domain I bought, it confronts me with a login box that seems to be coming from my wifi network. How do I set this up so that it hosts the information in my WAMP server? Thanks in advance for any help, I really appreciate it. And, as a side-note, what should read (print or online) to better understand the structure of the internet? I've been studying HTML/CSS/Javascript, but I'm not sure where to look for pragmatic and comprehensive information on how the internet works and how to utilize it as a website administrator.   I have an application that is being expanded to the UK and I will need to add support for Latin-9 Unicode. I have done some Googling but found nothing solid as to what is involved in the process. Any tips?   I'd like to measure the performance of some code blocks in my c# winforms application. In particular I want to measure performance regression/improvement after some restructuring of the code. So long I've seen the System.Diagnostics.Stopwatch. However, I want to avoid writing measuring code into my classes, I would rather prefer to separate measuring from actual code. As for debugging, you can set breakpoints on several code lines and "jump" from one to the next by "Continue Execution", I imagine something similar for measuring: Mark to lines of code and make Visual Studio display the time elapsing from one to the next. Is there any feature/add-in in that direction?

  My company has two development teams using TFS 2008. My team would like to migrate our .Net 3.5 app to the .Net 4.0 framework, but the company is not ready to upgrade TFS to TFS 2010. Can we still use TFS 2008's team build system but with a Visual Studio 2010 solution/project structure that targets the .Net 4.0 framework? I am thinking we would need to add a new build agent to TFS 2008 that would have VS 2010 installed. But I am not finding any information on how to do this. Is this possible? Are there any articles explaining how to do this?

  Hi all, I want to build an API service using Django. A basic workflow goes like this: First, an http request goes to http://mycompany.com/create.py?id=001&callback=http://callback.com. It will create a folder on the server with name 001. Second, if the folder does not exist, it will be created. You get response immediately in XML format. It will look like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <response> <status> <statusCode>0</statusCode> <message>Success</message> </status> <group id="001"/> </response> Finally, the server will do its job (i.e. creating the folder). After it is done, the server does a callback to the URL provided. Currently, I use return render_to_response('create.xml', {'statusCode': statusCode, 'statusMessage': statusMessage, 'groupId': groupId, }, mimetype = 'text/xml') to send the XML response back. I have an XML template which has statusCode, statusMessage, groupId placeholders. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <response> <status> <statusCode>{{ statusCode }}</statusCode> <message>{{ statusMessage }}</message> </status> {% if not statusCode %} <group id="{{ groupId }}"/> {% endif %} </response> But in this way I have to put step 3 before step 2, because otherwise step 3 will not be executed if it is after return statement.
