  I'm using jQuery 1.4.2 to navigate smoothly between similar webpages (in ff3). When clicking on a link, a javascript script should load the new html, filter out the right elements and replace them on the current page. It looks like the $(htmlcode) does not do the thing I expected. The actions below work when loading the page directly, but when using the $.get I have the following problems: the find function seems only to look inside a div element called id="page", which is inside the body element one of the elements has <script>...</script>, but the <script>...</script> is not present in the DOM of $(htmlcode). I figured out that most probably it is necessary to replace initial console's window procedure so I will be able to control all messages including notify area events. But SetWindowLong function returns 0, and GetLastError() tells that access is denied. hwndFound = GetConsoleWindow(); SetWindowLong(hwndFound, GWL_WNDPROC, (long)WndProc); What could it be, or maybe there is some other way to control tray icon manipulations?

• No image displayed in Fancybox

  I am having trouble getting fancybox to display its corresponding images on a website that I'm building http://www.nomadicdrift.com/test/kaniwa#events . It's a custom one page portfolio theme that I set up on the WordPress platform. If you follow the link to the events section you will see 1 figure item in a gallery like position. I have this image set up to work as a fancybox gallery, but when you click on it, it opens up the fancybox interface but does not place a image in the frame, even though it should. So this is the problem...the images do not show up in fancybox and instead I see just the frame. I have also successfully used this same markup for a one thumbnail fancybox gallery on another site. I thought maybe it was due to some conflict in the .js files I'm using. I tried uninstalling all of my plugins/addons (which aren't too many) one by one and still had the same result. I have all of my personal javascript in the functions.js file, which is where I call the fancybox plugin using the standard $("a.fancybox").fancybox();. I have installed this plugin before on other sites and have searched extensively for an answer, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sean

  If I'm using a canvas to display data and I want the user to be able to click on various items on the canvas in order to get more information or interact with it in some way, whats the best way of going about this? Searching online I can find information about how to bind events to tags but that seems to be more indirect then what I want. I don't want to group items with tags, but rather have specific function calls when the user clicks specific items on the canvas.

  Hi, I need to take data from external file and format it, the problem is, i want to have that data stored into a variable. Load method works for me, because i need to load not the whole document, but just a part of it, but then again, i want to load to variable and not to some dom element. $.get can do this, but it doesn't support selectors. Is there any way I could make this? Now examples: Mine external file consists of a table, which has format like this: <table><tr><td><img /></td></tr><tr><td><a></a></td><td><span></span></td></tr></table> I need to extract img, a and span tags because I need them to be displayed in different order than they're now. • How to load an external swf to the main stage from an instanced child class?

  Hi, I am trying to get an instance of a class to the load an external swf and show it. So far I have the following: 1) I wrote a class that uses the Loader class to load an external swf "loadExtSWF". 2) I have a fla named "MainSWF.fla" that uses a document class "MainSWF.as". 3) I have the MainSWF.as file that instances "loadExtSWF" and calls loadExtSWF.startLoad to load the swf. This almost works. The instance of loadExtSWF loads the external swf, but the swf is not displayed. If I replace the fla's document class with loadExtSWF (this has an empty constructor) instead of MainSWF, and run loadExtSWF.startLoad, then the external swf is loaded and displayed. It seems that the way I initially do it, loads the swf to the wrong stage (?). Any ideas? Thanks for the help. Bye, RaamEE P.S.   Before you say "oh no, not again" here I'm stating my case. I'm parsing part of HTML output and the only thing I'm interested in is name and value attributes of each <input/ tag. HTML is actually HTML fragment, may not be well-formed. I don't have DOM or HTML parser and I don't try to parse nested elements anyway. The problem is that I don't know the order or number of attributes so it could be <input name="foo" value="boo"/> or <input type="hidden" name=foo> or <input id=blah value='boo' src="image.png" name="foo" type="img"/>. Is there a single regular expression that would get me values of name and value attribute in predictable order? I wouldn't have asked the question if I could assume that name attribute always precedes value but unfortunately this is not the case

  I've got portions of pages being replaced with HTML retrieved via AJAX calls. Some of the HTML coming back has JavaScript that needs to be run once in order to initialize the accompanying HTML (setting up event handlers). Since the document has already been loaded, when I replace chunks of HTML using jQuery's .html function, having jQuery(document).ready(function() {...}); doesn't execute since the page loaded long before and this is just a snippet of HTML being replaced. What's the best way to attach event handlers whose code is packaged along with the HTML it's interested in, when that content is loaded via AJAX? Should I just put a procedural block of javascript after the HTML , so that when I insert the new HTML block, jQuery will execute the javascript immediately? Is the HTML definitely in the DOM and ready to be acted upon by JavaScript which is in the same .html call?

• IE 7 can't bind event (using .live()) to dynamically created element using .load()

  Hi All - I'm having trouble getting IE7 to keep a click event bound to an element that is added to the DOM using .load(). Here's some code: $('.mybtn').live('click', function(e){ e.preventDefault(); $('#mypage').load('load-this-page.htm'); }); And here's the html <div id="mypage"> <a href="#" class="mybtn">clickme</a> // stuff goes here </div> On page load the click works but once the div is loaded via the clickme link the click stops working in IE7. The clickme link is within the div on load and also within the load() loaded html file that's why I'm using live(). This code works in FF 3.6, fyi. Anyone have any idea what's up (besides the fact the IE sucks balls)? Thanks!

  Hello, I have a json object collection of geo locations that I build in the server. Each of those objects has two properties: "marker" and "onClick". Marker is for storing a Google Maps marker object and the onClick stores the name of the function to be called when that marker is clicked on the map. When I'm pushing the location objects into an array using javascript in the client side, I create the markers and assign them to each location object within the array. My problem is that when I bind the marker with the onClick property, the function won't be found in the DOM and get an error. Is there a way to declare a property in a json object for using it on an event binding? Hope I could explain it clearly, if not, please let me know. Thanks!

  I am looking for suitable replacement code that allows me replace the content inside of any HTML tag that has a certain class e.g. $class = "blah"; $content = "new content"; $html = '<div class="blah">hello world</div>'; // code to replace, $html now looks like: // <div class="blah">new content</div> Bare in mind that: It wont necessarily be a div, it could be <h2 class="blah"> The class can have more than one class and still needs to be replaced e.g. <div class="foo blah green">hello world</div> I am thinking regular expressions should be able to do this, if not I am open to other suggestions such as using the DOM class (although I would rather avoid this if possible because it has to be PHP4 compatible).
