• Internal microphone not working in Google talk

  My laptop is Lenovo T400, which has an internal microphone. My OS is Ubuntu 10.10. My browser is Firefox 11.0. The internal microphone works fine, because I can use it to record my voice using Audaciy. However, in Google talk, I have choose "Internal Audio Analog Stereo" in "Settings - Voice and video chat - Microphone:". But when I click "Verify your settings", it doesn't work. Neither can I speak to others using Google Talk. I wonder why? Thanks and regards!

• Doing two Declarative Operations with One Button

  You can file the below video under "things that get asked on OTN a lot". With ADF it is very easy to drag an operation to a page to create a button that activate it. But what if you want a single button to invoke two operations? For example have a button that does a "Delete" as well as a "Commit". The way to do it is to add an action binding, and then overwrite the button function in a backing bean to call the additional action. The nice thing is that JDeveloper will create all the binding code for you in the backing bean - all you need to do is duplicate it. Here is a quick demo:

• Please Help with ATI Radeon 4250 and Xinerama

  I am using ubuntu 11.10 fresh install and I am having problems making the second screen to work, I remember before I was able to do it by extending the desktop to a larger number like 3840 X 1080 but since I am new I completely forgot how to do it, Now I have a philips 230 E monitor full 1920 X 1080 and a Toshiba tv HDMI and I want to activate the second monitor to be able to use Xinerama but I don't know how to go about this, I want to keep the Phillips as a primary monitor since it's the smaller one and use the TV from time to time to play videos movies and presentations. I installed all the additional drivers and don't know what else to do. I would prefer if I can use a list of exact commands to copy and paste onto the terminal since that is all I know how to use LOL . Thank you so much for your help. • Clever DIY Display Showcases Game Consoles While Concealing Cables

  How do you display all your vintage game consoles while keeping them in a clutter free and ready-to-play state? This wall-mounted display does a great job showing off the retro gear while keeping everything tidy. Courteys of German tinker and gamer Holger, the design of the display is deceptively simple. The wall mount is a basic 2×4 frame wrapped in black roofing batten (similar to the lightweight weed-fabric used in gardens). Screw-in mounts for the LACK shelves are positioned every foot or so going up the frame and a small slit in the fabric allows for hidden routing of the cables. • How do I get TV out working on an ATI X800 GTO²?

  Is there any way to make my graphics card (ATI x800) work with tvout? I know there are no proprietary drivers for this card only the opensource ones. • Using IP Restrictions with URL Rewrite-Week 25

  URL Rewrite offers tremendous flexibility for customizing rules to your environment. One area of functionality that is often desired for URL Rewrite is to allow a large list of approved or denied IP addresses and subnet ranges. IIS’s original IP Restrictions is helpful for fully blocking an IP address, but it doesn’t offer the flexibility that URL Rewrite does. An example where URL Rewrite is helpful is where you want to allow only authorized IPs to access staging.yoursite.com, but where staging.yoursite.com is part of the same site as www.yoursite.com. This requires conditional logic for the user’s IP. This lesson covers this unique situation while also introducing Rewrite Maps, server variables, and pairing rules to add more flexibility.   When I had windows 7 installed on my computer, My TV tuner card used to work fine after installing the drivers but on ubuntu it is not working. I have tried several Softwares to get it working but none helped. Today I installed Me Tv and when I open it, I get an error saying "There are no DVB devices available". What can I do to get my Philips TV Tuner card working. • How to do the Geometry Wars gravity well effect

  I'm not talking about the background grid here, I'm talking about the swirly particles going around the Gravity Wells! I've always liked the effect and decided it'd be a fun experiment to replicate it, I know GW uses Hooke's law all over the place, but I don't think the Particle-to-Well effect is done using springs, it looks like a distance-squared function. Here is a video demonstrating the effect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgJe0YI18Fg I can implement a spring or gravity effect on some particles just fine, that's easy. But I can't seem to get the effect to look similar to GWs effect. When I watch the effect in game it seems that the particles are emitted in bunches from the Well itself, they spiral outward around the center of the well, and eventually get flung outward, fall back towards the well, and repeat. How does he make the particles spiral outward when spawned? How does he keep the particle bunches together when near the Well but spread away from each other when they're flung outward? How does he keep the particles so strongly attached to the Well?

  This interesting bug (feature?) in the original Pac-Man game makes it easy to hide from the ghosts, ensuring a long-lived and well-fed Pac-Man. Check out the video above to see the black hole you can park Pac-Man in to avoid assault by the ghosts. There’s two big caveats with this trick: first, it only works in the original game (spin offs and modern adaptations won’t necessarily have it but the original machine and MAME implementations of it will).
